LTTP: The Order 1886: Sir Gigachad (56k warning, screenshots)

And none of it is an issue.
Static time of day? Sure, who cares. I am not standing there for 3 hours to see if sun moves.
Linear? yeah, good old type of game not wasting my time.
30fps in letterbox? I can see that as complaint but at least they embraced it with filmic effects. It's a style of the game.

Yes, static time of day and linearity works for a game that is linear. Obviously.

But, I would like to see a sequel that would be more open, more focused on immersion, had actual dynamic ToD, and in that one baking all the lighting wouldn't work anymore, and that is where RTGI would come in, providing similar visual fidelity while being dynamic.

Love the graphics and concept.

The gameplay was weak as hell though. Over the shoulder was way too zoomed in and was nothing special. The werewolves looked lame, and the fights had the depth of a mobile game.

I still wanted a sequel, because it deserves a chance for redemption. But we’ll never see it.

No, I am suggesting that it should be nominated for the effort that the developers put in. And with The Order, good efforts were made...

But of course, as the video game press always comes to ruin things, and they didn't show that before, now they are meaner.

I disagree with that comment, too. Why does effort (which I read as budget and total man-hours) matter? I doubt Tetris took a thenth of the "effort" than, say, Watch Dogs, took. Yet, one is herald as one the best games ever created and has stood the test of time, while the other is Watch Dogs.

The Order was a good, not great game. Balatro is a great game.

Best looking game of all time after Hellblade 2 and Forbidden West

Such a gem

Sony goofed so hard for dropping RAD a couple tweaks and some more budget and a sequel could be Uncharted 2 level

Story and acting were amazing

makes me think how many other similar games I've missed out on because of bad publicity.
I know that now, Forspoken and order 1886 are among my fav games and both had terrible public opinions.

shadps4 can suck my dick. I don't care.
People should've been there, buying the game day1. not pirating it on shadps4 20 years later.
I was there to buy it and enjoyed it, but it also had notable flaws, like being too repetitive and having maybe the worst boss fights ever.
I also was there for Bloodborne day 1, only to find a stuttery framepacing nightmare. So after paying $70 I will be able to play it properly 10 years later thanks to ShadPS4, so Sony and FROM can suck my dick also. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's not ShadPS4's fault that Sony's lame management didn't greenlight sequels and shut down the devs. Same goes for Driveclub and Evolution Studios, which Sony also didn't give a chance and shat them down, when that game was an incredible base to improve upon. So, again, it's SONY who "can suck my dick". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

how the hell? 4 hours? and for plat?
Did you blazed through that game and skipped all cutscenes?
The cutscenes(+walk and talk segments) alone are 3 hours so don't bullshit me.
What kind of game playing is that?! do you not want to stop and look around? enjoy the views? just sprint through the game. shameful.
I wasted maybe 30 minutes on photo mode. So 9h... we can round down to 8 hours. Good enough.

I only played once but I don’t think you can even skip cutscenes. Never use photo mode, either. I don’t think it’s possible to “blaze through” a game with four or five hours of content. Plus there’s so little agency in the game for the player.

you bought it new. for me, you have any right to do with it as you please then.

The game was okay and it cost me like 15€ a year after the release.

I really liked the shooting, the guns and the story and the world they were greating.

it's really a bummer that the game didn't get a sequel because I'm sure it would have been another so called "Uncharted 2 moment." Maybe not that great but something distantly close to that.

We better go to a casino and it will be the same experience.

Balatro is a crap game, nothing else serves to scam people...

On the other hand, the order gives you a video game experience at a good price.

What's more, comparing Balatro to Tetris is a titanic blasphemy.

😐

I liked this game a lot despite the hate. My first playthrough took me about 10 hours, probably because I was constantly admiring the graphics.

BTW- I don't remember any problems with dark scenes on my LCD and plasma TVs. You may be using the wrong black level settings on your PS4/PS5 or TV itself.

I mean, I like The Order's story and graphics but let's not kid ourselves, one guy learning to make games made Balatro and it has better gameplay than The Order. At no point playing Balatro was I forced to pick up a wooden cup and spin it around in my hand for an uncomfortable about of time until a cutscene triggered.

I only got my ps4 in 2017 so I wouldn't know...
but I would buy that game in a heartbeat for 60$ with this production values. why not?
Cause I can watch movies with higher production values for free on YouTube.

I play games to play, the best parts of this joke of a title were highly scripted. The best weapons they made a huge deal out of like the Tesla weapon was used for one on rails section, the boss fight was a repeat of an earlier fight in the exact same warehouse (some production values, huh?). Gallery shooter with zero dynamics, insta fail stealth sections and endless cutscenes.

You can play Risk of Rain 2 for the same price and have endless hours of fun.

But Balatro was not made with love.

It seems they did it to make money.

But I like you Shifty1897 Shifty1897 .

Happy 2025!!! 🥳🎉

It was a title he made with the ideas of his friends and he put it on Steam. If he was in it to make money he could've sold it to Casino chains that were approaching him to turn it into virtual card machines. Instead, he declined it and even got a lawyer to make sure that there's a legal estate to watch over the IP when he's dead to make sure it never happens. He's even updated the game with new decks and updated the mechanics for free. He really did it out of passion and it took off, I'll support that 1000x over than anything like The Order you absolute 🤡

The tesla weapon you get plenty of times. I even posted a vid.
The shooting is great

Game duration statistics are available
If you really ran it in 4 hours, I recommend you post your progress on www.speedrun.com, there is a world record of 4 hours, you can compete for first place.

It barely counts as a game. One of the biggest swindles in gaming history but because some people value graphics over anything else, we end up with revisionist threads like this ten years later.

Game is great and deserves a sequel. In this day and age where we can't get more than 1 game franchise every 5 years unless we're getting slop like Ubisoft churns out, we could be on our third game in the Order franchise.

I just discovered this game about a week ago. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's GOTY. But it's a damn fun game and I appreciate the simplicity of it and focus on pure gameplay. Not everything has to be a cinema like experience filled with cut scenes to be a great game.

Shooting is point and click, there's really nothing that great about this boring title. More people are talking about the graphics than the title or mechanics and that says a lot

Today is January 1, 2025... Don't fight. Or he won't have a good year.

Well I said a smidge over four, that video you linked is like four hours flat, so I won’t be getting first place.

Mine was like four hours and twenty or so, and that’s including going to two chapters to clean up for a trophy.

You have to charge it and let go. it snaps to enemies within middle of the screen.
It's the only weapon with "auto aim" in the game.
it's super fun to use and watch people limbs explode

wtf that's not playing a video game.
that's a chore or a job.
have some fun... at least on first play.

Like with Stellar blade. game took me 50 hours on first play and then there are people saying it's 12 hours long game. WHAT

I forget which thread it was on here where I was posting screenshots of my most recent playthrough, but Andreas Pessino liked one of them and posted it on his IG 😂😎

Bought the collectors edition day 1 with the figurine. No regrets. I’ll wait lifetimes for a sequel.

Everything is possible, I didn't write that it's impossible.
Everyone has different playstyles, some run through the entire game and some walk around the locations and the world, read notes, look at objects, etc. Everyone chooses their own playstyle, I have platinum in this game too. All I did was show you how close your playthrough was to the world record. And I specifically posted the first link, which shows that on average, for people who are in no hurry and play the game slowly, it takes an average of 6-7 hours to complete the game.

No. Nonsense. If it was "great" and it "deserved a sequel" then it would have gotten better reviews and some people would have bought it and it would have got that sequel.

nah. I am way past believeing that game perception and game reviews have anything to do with quality.
Some of best games ever and cult classics like system shock 2 or silent hill 2... sold like shit.
And some of worst stuff recently like idk.... among us or whatever newest gaas is... sells like hot cakes.

I didn’t rush through the game or anything. Even went back to clean up trophies. Maybe I am better at shooters and died less than you, idk. I can’t imagine what people are doing in the game that makes them take 9-10 hours. Must be desperately searching for collectibles and side content that aren’t there.
