If they're going to push it early 2015 let's say hypothetically, I'm hoping they just push it all the way to the fall and include some sort of multiplayer mode. A simple multiplayer can be very good.

No it wouldn't. Not every game needs multiplayer shoehorned in.
The last thing this game needs is: Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, etc. They just need to focus on making the game good and then everything else is secondary.
By just including an Uncharted PS4 beta they won't need to worry about a multiplayer mode

Uncharted PS4 is coming. And Killzone: SF hasn't stopped existing.
You should also try The Last of Us' multiplayer when it comes to PS4. It's fun, yet very difficult to master.

I don't think it's wise to release a new IP in a packed period anyway. The Last of Us thrived in the dry summer season.
I mean this games premise, setting, atmosphere and arguably some of the best visuals bar none...what is not to love.

If it makes it for the holiday and the game turns out well, The Order could be a huge franchise if they really get behind it. Make it the cornerstone of their marketing for the holiday and their biggest title on the level of Uncharted. There's alot of games coming out early next year too, so strategically it wouldn't make a huge difference.
TLOU isn't quite the same thing. It had huge critical acclaim, came from one of the most renowned studios out there, and was released on a platform with a huge install base. Sony also marketed it pretty well. The end of this year doesn't seem ridiculously packed. Specifically for Sony, the only AAA game they have currently announced for the end of the year is Driveclub, so putting resources into The Order for the holiday makes a ton of sense.

I could see it slipping. I think a march/april release will favor it very well in sales in addition to adding polish. Holiday is pretty crowded for a new IP.
Hopefully it makes it though, and/or hopefully something like The Last Guardian gets dropped on us in November and Project Beast comes this year.

Seems kinda like a Vita holiday lineup when you look at it this way. Of course third parties actually make PS4 games, so Sony will be in good shape even with minimal first party output in 2014.

On topic, I think this game will slip into early 2015. But it would be a nice surprise if it didn't make it into a fall 2014 release.
I guess I just expect more from a first party perspective. If they only really have DriveClub left as AAA then that's two AAA games for the year. That'll be less than Nintendo and the Wii U.

Double down on those Batman+Destiny partnerships the same way MS has done with CoD before.

Same thing with MS. It's possible they only have Halo 2 for the holidays and double down on CoD this year while 2015 will be the big one with Halo 5.
Destiny is going to dominate PS4 marketing this Q4 period though. There's just too many big hitters coming for The Order to compete with. Q1 2015 is a much safer bet.
Yeah really hoping they don't do that. The Order could be a Gears type hit if they play their cards right. People are hungry for new IP on these new consoles.
Nah they have Sunset Overdrive, no doubt they'll have Forza Horizon 2 and a couple of others.

Really hoping this delay rumor isn't true. Someone should make a list of all the games that have already been delayed this gen. It seems like hitting the original release date is now the exception.

3rd party is pretty good. AC, Batman, Destiny, CoD, Dragon Age, Evil Within. And of course there is Driveclub and whatever remasters/ports Sony can conjure up from their ass. There seems to be a ton of remasters on the way this year already including Metro, TLOU and apparently GTAV, GOW:A. Not to mention according to Shinobi there will be a bunch of remasters at E3 this year so, yay?
Other developers showed demos of their games over a year away from release and it looked more ready than TheOrder1886's Feb reveal. Game clearly was in no position to be shown.
They can definitely rush it for this year... but I'd prefer that it get delayed a few months into 2015 to get the extra polish.

Sony didn't drop support for PS3. That's why all their first party development has now shifted to PS4. PS3 owners are thankful for that.
On a side note, 2015 is poised to be one of the best years in gaming if "The Order" "Uncharted" PS4 "Halo 5" and "Quantum Break" are all released that year.
They have been pretty clear about it in every interview, the game is basically a movie where the player can alter the flow of events in real time based on how they play
People are getting the wrong idea about the game and when they'll find out what it is many of those who don't like this cinematic story telling genre, will be disappointed.

I agree it appears to not be doing much new, but as others said, not every game has to break barriers or be innovative. On the tech side they have said they are doing some pretty cool stuff, like the soft-body physics and malleable materials. The game has an amazing setting and a very intriguing premise, as long as it's fun in terms of shooting mechanics, that's good enough for me.
They didn't, as far as I know. It's a TPS, story driven, inspired by Uncharted 2.
I don't know where that Heavy Rain/Beyond thing comes from and I think I've read every of their interviews.
Hell yes, the most interesting so far to me.
I have faith for a release in late November. Unfortunately this winter is quite full of big games but I hope they can still find a spot.
