I'm a little disappointed that The Order is most likely delayed, but I'll get over it. Just so long as Dragon Age: Inquisition hits. In fact, this helps Middle-Earth: Shadows of Mordor too.

Its nothing to do with DC as it looks phenomenal. Its just that this software output this FALL is looking disappointing compared to PS3 2nd year where they had:

So much for Sony keeping quiet before E3. This is fantastic. We've had blow outs for Sunset and Drive Club and we're due to get blow outs for Quantum and Order.

This is how you build hype for E3.

Why do these companies try to turn pre-E3 into its own hype machine? Why not keep those games as secrets for E3 so they can blow us away even more and have E3 hype us up, since E3 is the biggest hype machine in gaming. Plus, hype that's built up before E3 is often forgotten (forgotten isn't the best word to use, but I can't think of anything else) during and after E3.

I guess it's fine to break some 'minor' bad news before E3 because it'll either be 'forgotten' or it won't be the main talk because it won't be fresh on people's minds. Do that for The Order 1886 being delayed and instead, we'll be talking about all of the stuff shown at E3. Tell us that The Order's been delayed at E3 and we'll be talking about that during and after E3, bringing down the overall conference.

Because people want games that differentiate one platform from another, so someone going to buy a console will look at the big games, CoD, Destiny, AssCreed, etc, and see they're all on both, then look at the exclusives to make their decision. At least that's logically what I would expect people who haven't already made up their mind would do.

Exactly. I don't get all this downplaying of the importance of exclusive games, especially at the beginning of a generation of new consoles, when I imagine a lot of people are on the fence about what system to go for. Sure third party games are more important considering they comprise the bulk of releases, but if exclusives are as irrelevant as some of you make out then no Nintendo home console since the SNES would have sold since they have been weak on the third party front compared to competing systems in their respective generations. And I'm sure everyone agrees the OG XBOX would never have taken off without it's big exclusive, Halo.
Personally speaking, I would have delayed my purchase of the PS4 at launch if I were to know the lack of exclusives for the year ahead, as I have a capable pc to play third party games. Isn't exclusive games the main reason for most of us choosing one system over another? The more good exclusives released on a system (in addition to third party software of course) the more potential of having that one title that will appeal to people still on the fence.

I have to say that delays/rumoured delays of Sony first/second party games have been disappointing after the song and dance made out of the "time to triangle, ease of development and that a lot of these games have supposedly been in dev for 2-3 years before announcement.

I fully accept games are bigger and more complicated to make then ever, but the games I really want (inc The Order) seem to get delayed or pushed to at least a year later than I hoped (Uncharted).

I just hope E3 has some nice surprises to tide me over. I now don't expect anything other than DriveClub this year.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the early The Order: 1886 embargo is because they're going to announce a delay to 2015 and they don't want that negative point being unveiled first in their big press conference. Get it out 2 weeks early and it's just something you breeze by in the presser.

I really hope that they wont delay it, but early unveil points that there will be some bad news in it.

Once as a teen I was on a school trip and a bunch of me and my mates were in this big coach on a long journey. We were trying to get women in nearby cars to lift their tops up for whatever reason….But yea, eventually I managed to get two very attractive women in the passenger seats of some random car to lift their tops and flash their assets, as a result of which the whole coach kept cheering my name for being successful.

My mate got a bit jealous and tried himself. Instead of getting a woman to flash her bits, some guy saw his gestures that were aimed at his GF(?), unzipped his flyers and then flashed his penis at all of us, then kept it visible for a good length of the journey.

Suffice to say, my mate got ridiculed the entire trip lol.

Pre-E3 coverage doesn't have to be a bad thing. I think these companies are trying to beat E3 to the punch so their game doesn't get swallowed in a sea of gaming news.


The problem is, the more that companies do this, the smaller the actual E3 tidal wave becomes.
