The Order: 1886 new gifs and info

*year.
This year has been terrible thus far.

I don't know. I feel we will have plenty to play. For the first year in this new generation I'd say it's been one of the best. We'll have some Fall heavy hitters. AC, Batman, Dragon Age, COD, DriveClub. Destiny. We got Infamous we'll be getting WatchDogs soon.

I expect 2015 will be the year games will really pick up.

Pre-E3 coverage doesn't have to be a bad thing. I think these companies are trying to beat E3 to the punch so their game doesn't get swallowed in a sea of gaming news.

The problem is, the more that companies do this, the smaller the actual E3 tidal wave becomes.

That depends on what gets shown at the show.

If it is delayed I wonder if Sony will have some holiday ''suprises'' releases annouced at E3.. nothing AAA but some exclusive games would be nice.

How accomodating of you!

If it's info that's come out of judges week, I am not totally certain, but there's so much smoke, there's gotta be a fire, right?

Hahaha, well I don't want to have an unpolished game that needs more time, but if they think they can make it for this year, I'll take it!

I'm curious when people say this do they mean Fall 06 or Fall 07... because.. yeah

Imagine Driveclub wasnt delayed.. would Sony really have nothing for this Fall/Winter? Maybe something will show up at E3 (or the rumor is false)

This is what doesn't make sense. Unless something changes, given the rumored delays, is Sony really going to have no major releases for the holiday season?

Not trying to call him out or anything but i'm getting a bit tired of people claiming they have inside info when the only source they have is shinobi. I know he followed him, i'm a twitter lurker.

I dunno about that. I'm really excited for Destiny, Dragon Age, Batman and maybe Driveclub (will try it on PS+ first).
Yeah but 3 of those are on other platforms :S

If it gets delayed 'till 2015 XBO might actually start closing the gap in NA given its exclusives (assuming QB comes out in the fall, and H2A is a really good remaster). 3rd parties and communities help sell systems a lot but I wouldn't want Sony to start underestimating the power of 1st-party exclusives in crucial time windows to have an impact either.

Didn't they mention earlier this week that QB was just entering full production?

QB isn't coming out this year...I honestly do not see it happening.

If Sony is willing to only have DC as their Winter game, there must be something else coming to allow them to give The Order more time. Some of their expected announcements at E3 would definitely line up if we look at the development times, but I'm still not so sure.

It wouldn't be the first time Sony would be content to have a pretty mediocre holiday lineup, and it's not like they won't move a ton of consoles for COD, Batman, Destiny, etc. Unlike MS. Sony is usually willing to delay things at the expense of not having that big holiday blockbuster. MS usually has a big tentpole franchise game lined up every September (aside from 2013 for obvious reasons).

MS will have FH2 to counter DC, and Halo HD to counter TLoU HD, but they'll also have SO. One exclusive isn't a huge advantage, but it is an advantage. People seem to be under the impression that as long as Sony are selling all the PS4s they make that they couldn't do better, that's not the case, they could sway people to waiting for a PS4 over buying a XBO. Many XBO sales are lost potential PS4 sales. Sony are already looking complacent, delaying their major fall title is bad.

I think Sony is betting on it not mattering as PS4 seems to be the default console of choice.

That and they just sent an email to PSN accounts titled "Games that make PS4 the best place to play" with a whole bunch of 3rd party games. They're obviously marketing PS4 as the game that plays the best versions of these popular titles.

It's an interesting strategy. Will it work? I don't know, but heavy co-marketing with Activision for Destiny and other 3rd party games seems to be their plan atm. /shrug

would people be mad if they pushed TLOU to fall to cover for any potential 1886 delay? (fyi i think summer is the perfect time to release...as you don't really want to throw a re-release into a crowd of with a bunch of new AAA titles)

Having nothing during the fall time from Sony would be pretty pathetic. Driveclub is an interesting racing game no doubt, but no AAA title would be a massive fail from Sony considering it's a year after launch. I really hope The Order can make it.

I already plan to buy Destiny, FIFA 15 & Dragon Age Inquisition with Arkham Knight, Farcry 4 and Driveclub as maybes. It's not like i won't have anything to play :P

Heck, Driveclub isn't even winter. It's early Fall. Like you said, there surely must be something coming we don't know yet. At least I hope. :/

Of course, wtf? You really expect everyone to be okay with the two big holiday release form Sony is one remake of last year (TLOU) and second the game that was supposed to be out last year (Driveclub)?

lol...well its sort of a new title for the converts from xbox? i was just posing a question...not saying i was advocating that course of action.

personally think it would be a bad idea because re-release into a sea of other AAA titles means something has to give. even if it is tlou

Are we ignoring fighting and character action games in these lineup lists? :(

I
Already did. Embargo ends Tuesday. From what I heard it's not a long delay, out early next year.

If this is true what a fucking disaster for Sony's studio management team. Seriously, just pitiful.

People in the press have made comments on podcasts about this being delayed into next year, but I always thought in the back of my head Sony just wouldn't let it happen. Somehow, someway, they'd do whatever it took to make sure they had one big AAA game for this fall.

If the only exclusive on PS4 this fall is Driveclub there should be some serious discussion about the management of the Sony studios and their projects, because if you really take a look at these things in recent year's it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

E3 is next month more stuff is likely to be announced, who knows when those games would be release.

eh...fall is pretty crowded (in terms of what i'm interested in). i like that stuff is getting pushed if its not ready. i don't really care if its third or first party as long as there is stuff to play.

if watchdogs reviews well and then driveclub...that would make watchdogs, driveclub, and infamous that got delayed from original launch and probably turned out much better for it.

Eh, that's the price you take for taking risks, sometimes you need more time. If you want something safe that never misses a deadline you have your Call of Duty's and Assassin's Creed's.

What? I applaud sony for continuing the support for ps3. In 2013 they had a new Sly, GoW, TLOU, puppeteer, beyond, GT, R&C. Sure ps4 looks pretty weak in its first year (although e3 might have some surprises) but to say their recent years have been bad is just odd to me. Compared to nintendo and MS, well their really is no comparison, sony first and second party studios have been great.

YIKES. I really hope this game doesn't get delayed. Based on third parties alone I'm definitely happy with my PS4 purchase but even with The Order, Sony's exclusive line-up for this year was disappointing. Hoping this isn't true and also that we get some something else for this year.

Pretty happy I double downed and got the XONE as well....Microsoft could have the better line-up at this point.

Get ready for more PS3 ports my friend. Wouldn't be surprised if they announce both GoW and Beyond for Fall and hope that it somehow helps the PS4 (which I doubt it will unless they make a collection or include new content).

I'm not aware of any fighting or character action games Sony or MS are publishing this fall. I could certainly be wrong though.
Not published by Sony, but Guilty Gear Xrd (PS3/PS4) and Lily Bergamo (PS4) are both are scheduled for 2014. We'll get the official US release date for GG Xrd at E3 since the developers will be there.

Was there?

That would be a bad bet to place IMHO. Altho like a few other posters have said, it would be a massive lapse of judgement if they only went into the holiday season w/ Driveclub. Even in its prime GT had pseudo-exclusives to cover other spots (given most devs only published on PS2, especially Japanese ones).

But I'll keep optimistic, especially if they have some big surprises coming this year. Hell, Project Beast could be a holiday release for all I know.

Remember that one winter when all we got was PSABR? Looks like its happening again..

Numbers? Evidence beyond someone posting in a forum?

why are people acting as if the lack of 1st party in the holidays makes "ps4 has no gamez"?

most people only have one console. might as well make multiplats exclusive. no one is gonna go, "oh crap ps4 has destiny, dragon age, bf5, nba 2k, etc." eeewww i can play those on xbone and pc.

people only buy for one system. their ps4 might as well be their nba 2k machine, their assassins creed machine, etc.

some whiners here act as if ps4 became a barren desert.

I don't think anyone really cares about the Xbone's exclusives at this point. I'd be surprised if Sunset Overdrive ends up anything more than a blip on the radar.
As far as Halo 2 is concerned, if you're in the boat where Halo is important to you, you've probably never thought about getting a PlayStation in the first place (that's squarely where I'm standing).

Sony will be fine. They have the mindshare, the marketshare and the hearts of gamers everywhere.

And a racing game can be a system seller if it's really good, just look at Gran Turismo.

I would not say that PS4 has no games. But its kind disappointing a lack of exclusive games on the opening year. I hope The Order does not get delayed, the game looks awesome and Im expecting to play it this year.

You're forgetting Planetside2 and DeepDown, there is also TheWitness if you want to count that.(I think we should count it.)
I also think Sonys exclusive beta and marketing will tie Destiny to the Playstation.
And the fact that most 3rd party games will probably look and/or run better on Ps4 is also not to be underestimated.

I agree with you, I'd rather have a game delayed and be better in the end. However, we've never seen an Uncharted game delayed. Most of the big first party games don't get delayed because all the higher ups involved do everything in their power to avoid that. They plan ahead well enough it doesn't come to that.

ESPECIALLY when you have such a light lineup as it is. They really needed this game out this fall. As a PS4 owner I want big games like this to make the console feel like it was worth purchasing early on.

My criticism of their management revolves around supplying enough games to make a PS4 purchase seem worthwhile in that first year. In the first year of the PS3 they had Resistance, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Untold Legends, and Eye of Judgement.

It's clear Sony should have pushed some of those PS3 games from last year, and made them PS4 projects to help buff up this first year.

.

Two things, while this would not be good news for Sony's fall line up, RAD isn't a Sony studio. Second, what issues in the past few years? WWS output last year was fantastic and was solid the few years before. If E3 comes and goes and 2015 looks empty, then I'll start to get worried about management but right now 2014 being quiet is more of an anomaly given what they've done since 2009.

Who is saying the part in bold? It would just be odd if Sony had no new first party exclusives for the holiday season.
