I'm hoping for a Lucina costume swap for Marth, but not her as a playable character. They literally couldn't do anything to distinguish her move set.
I don't think she'll be in the game at all, though.
I've seen some posts talk about how some characters have moves not seen in their own games. Why is it not possible for Lucina to get her own unique move set?

Ike being all buffed up at least gives him a distinct look from Marth and Chrom. Maybe that's why they made Marth so pretty looking as well. it's Intelligent Systems fault for making all their leads blue haired. Maybe now they've learned their lesson for next time and give the lead pink hair.
I still hope there's an alt for Ike for his Path of Radiance look. But meh, Steroid Ike is growing on me.

Since when is current relevance a factor? Smash has always been about celebrating the history and entire archive of Nintendo (& Friends).
Correction, Monday two moves, Tuesday sleeping, Wednesday another two moves, Thursday his nose, Friday pointing out the cape has changed.

If i recall correctly, while Lucina and Marth share the same moveset in game( because they share the same model except the head) her fighting style in the story itself is supposed to be the same as Chrom ( I believe this was noted the first time you fight in Arena Ferox, with the Chrom vs "Masked Marth" cutscene)

K rool ain't relevant to jackshit and he probobly isn't getting it because of it.
Fire emblem is even more relevant now outside of the japan and probobly will be getting a 3rd rep.

18 days before e3 where they will NEED to display all the characters at the tournament, not counting weekends, that means we still have 11 pics of the day.
I hope that we will see new characters every friday(so 2 more) till e3 and every other at the event (and probably that being Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon, Ness, Marth and new comers)

You say that as though it's a positive thing. Let's completely disregard how the character should work and put him in even though he's not even the protagonist or all even all that important to the plot compared to other characters from the same game.
If they're not going to stay at least somewhat true to the character what's the point? Ike already isn't completely true to his games though I guess he's closer to his RD version now, but he's still missing a long range attack since Ragnell can actually do that. Lucina has nothing distinguishing about her, make "Masked Marth" an alt of Marth and be done with it. Chrom at least has some sort of chance of being unique.

I wonder if this means that Radiant Dawn will be included in other ways. Like music tracks, trophies, stages, assist trophies or stickers (if they still exist). They already had the best track fom Radiant Dawn in Brawl. So the most I would hope for would be a Soren assist trophy.

Ike does look awesome, but I would've preferred an Awakening character
I don't imagine Ness being revealed until after the game is out

I would just say that judging from all previous Smash games, current relevance doesn't seem to be very high on the qualifications for new fighters. Even Smash64 had Ness.
I'll concede that a select few characters are brought in simply because they're asked for so much. In fact, that's pretty much the entire story with the 3rd party characters. However, most of the Nintendo cast is based around character importance to Nintendo at some point in time of their history.
You say K. Rool isn't getting in because he hasn't been around in years. I say he's got a solid shot because he was the final boss of 6 different DK games (more if you count the GB/GBA ports), not to mention a playable appearance in King of Swing and Mario Sluggers.

At the time of SSB64, Mother 3 was in development for N64. HAL had a hand in that development, so even if it wasn't relevant on a global scale, it was still relevant to both Japan and Sakurai (who probably interacted with developers for it regularly).

Once again, why is it not possible for Sakurai to have made unique moves based on what she is seen doing in Awakening?
Why is it that characters from non-fighting games can have moves made for them but supposedly Lucina can't?

I'm curious to see what Nintendo does. They haven't done anything like Smash Invitational in a long long time.
How does this argument justify that though? Captain Falcon is never seen fighting in basically any way, aside from like one punch he throws in the anime which was clearly based on Smash's rendition of him.
Lucina is seen fighting, the first thing she tries to do is to pass herself off as Marth and then after she drops it they say she fights exactly like Chrom. Why in gods earth would you want a character like that? She has basically no original qualities and isn't even the protagonist of the game. People calling for her to replace Marth are nuts, but now she's supposed to replace one of the few characters from her game that actually matter to the plot and have possibility of being unique? Only thing she'd got going for her is that she can also wield lances, which Chrom can also do and is the main lord of Awakening.
So why not invent a completely new moveset for her? Why bother honestly? Like I said before she's not important to the game like Chrom is, she could easily be an alt for Marth if people are so desperate for her to be in the game, and anything "unique" would just not be staying true to the character which is just even worse.
So the *ONLY* reveal pattern for veterans I can find is that it's strictly based off the character model being "Ready" to show the public.
So, they pick a handful of veterans for the initial reveal, and work on them FIRST (Mario, Link, Pikachu, Kirby, Pit, Samus, Bowser), and update the brawl models to show off. Then, all the releases are just based on their own priority / how much work was needed to update them. The last few veterans we got all had SIGNIFICANT character model changes. The ones we got sooner were pretty similar to their brawl models, just updated.
Ike looks entirely different, Yoshi looks very different, ZSS looks very different, and they were all revealed close to the end. Sheik is similar, but her reveal came late because he wanted to explain ZSS and Sheik being different characters and not transformations.
Anyone not revealed yet, we have to assume 1 of 3 things:

Nah, Marth's never really led to anything, I wouldn't expect it. If this leads to anything, the most I could see is a Chrom reveal at E3, but I think he'll be hidden. Either that or we're getting the full starting roster + Pacman at E3, and Ike would have been one veteran reveal too many so they got him out of the way now.
But that won't happen because that's way too early to reveal the starting roster for a game coming out in October.
Anyway, so Marth is graceful and Ike is super beefy. If Chrom gets in, how do people think he'll play to differentiate himself? Well he just be some sort of an intermediate (stronger than Marth but faster and flashier than Ike), or do you think they'll go for something completely different?
That's a good point about character models Georly, it explains Yoshi. I'm sure we'll get Ice Climbers at E3, they probably got some changes.

People thinking (and hoping!) that Ike would be cut were crazy.
I still think only Squirtle, Ivysaur and Snake will be cut, everyone else is back, including Mewtwo.

As I said in the other thread, the fun fact here is that Senri Kita, who was responsible for a lot of SF Ryu art for Capcom, is the one who drew Ike's character design.

For staters you have Shulk and Pac-Man on there which anyway puts it as ridiculous. I seeno King Rool/Dixie (unless I'm seeing wrong), no retro-character from the Wii Era (Quote or Curly Brace), and no fun picks at all like Okami or Viewtiful Joe (since you're using 3rd Party characters not owned by Nintendo.) Overall this is generic and rather boring.
Chrom/Lucina to replace Ike Climbers confirmed.

When they revealed the game I insta-started saving money. When Rosalina got announced I said they could add whoever they wanted for I got the character I wanted. Wii Fit Trainer and Rosalina being announced made my hype through the roof. Why should I be disappointed when I got what I wanted and tolerate or can beat up the rest I don't like?
