Sony isn't developing Deep Down and the game in your avatar that was promised to be a key 2014 release was delayed a full year. Delays are common in this industry, for every company.
Not true, it's beta [the only thing that was ever announced] was officialy moved to summer.
And IGN [? i think it was them...] managed to extract from Sucker Punch on video around last E3 that Infamous will be a Q1 2014 game, but nobody reported that.
Was Infamous actually announced as a launch game? I swear it always had the early 2014 release date.
DD is not a Sony game.

In my opinion the delays benefited infamous and driveclub.
Those are the recent ones but at least they came out or will (except TLG). What about 8 days and Getaway? They hyped me up so badly with those. That kind of thing should be considered borderline illegal.

Probably TLG (If Either). I would be very surprised to see UC4 anytime before Fall 2015.
Well I sort of does make sense as you will be able to play the majority of Multiplatform titles this fall on PS3/360. Which means that the primary reason for getting a Next Gen. console at this point would be for unique and interesting exclusives that won't be coming out on last gen. consoles.

Lot's of delays in general of late. The Witcher 3 and Destiny are two huge titles that have been put back. Better to be delayed than rushed though surely

Some here will never be happy either way. I am glad devs and publisher are doing what THEY think is good for THEIR game. Just look at WD and how it turned out to be better. Same will be true for DC.
There are plenty of games coming out for Fall to keep everyone busy. Its not like 3rd party games don't count as games.

True about Deep Down, but Halo 5 was never promised for 2014, Microsoft worded it very carefully at E3 lat year to try and fool people that it would be 2014, but I wasn't fooled, I'v been guessing it would be a H2A game as there has never been a major Halo title made in less than 3 years.
Don't forget Watch Dogs, studios rather delay and do it right more often than not. The notion of shortening and compromising the game over delaying is non sense.

unless something gets a release date at E3, there will be a 3 month long drought of AA games until Destiny hits. And unless that has offline single player I am not getting that one either.

There is not much to do in the games storymode, sometimes the cutscene are even longer then the actual mission/gameplay brakets themselves.

Yeah, i think that they can afford this kind of policy, they are in the dominant position and have the opportunity to schedule their releases as they wish without much pressure.
With Destiny, the new take on BF and CoD, the new AC only for next gen, with all the second sport games wave, releasing this winter is sending your ip sell less, way less and with an minimal impact as exclusive.
Destiny is a online-only game. You can play campaign alone, but you cannot play anything offline.

Yeah true, I just think its silly how so many publishers are doing this now where they show a game too early and then it ends up getting delayed!
I am not going to pretend like Sony are the only ones doing it of coarse, Microsoft delayed Kinect Sports Rivals five months, and Nintendo delayed MK8, Pikman 3, and DK Tropical Freeze
And let's not even mention Ubisoft....
Point is that publishers need to wait to show games when they are ready, but I guarantee you that it will happen again this year, especially at Microsoft's conference since they probably need to show the most.

Yeah, I was thinking the same watching the gif. I have high hopes that Gears 4 will return to having that in place...
Really disappointing there's no MP or co-op though. Even with their somewhat sound reasoning, I feel co-op should at least have been an option. Perhaps DLC will come to the rescue...
Goddamn at how good it looks. The gif truly does it no justice. No goddamn justice. It almost looks like CG at certain points.
I think at the end of the day, their output is not quite what people were expecting (I guess it speaks for Sony's 1st party reputation) and maybe what they wouldn't have hoped for.
Still, they've releaed (and will) decent games within the first year, and have a lot of 3rd parties and indies on board. People should evaluate the potential for the life of the console for that, and not just freak out about a bumpy launch. Launches always are.

It is a pretty short game,finished it in ~6 hours IIRC,especially disappointing since I1 and I2 had both quality and quantity leagues beyond SS and how barren the world is.

Infamous: Second Son was planned as a launch game (Nov. 2013) and got delayed to Mar. 2014.
Proof: Destructroid Interview with Chris Zimmerman from Sucker Punch. In the video Chris confirms that the game was delayed from Launch as originally planned.

The delay turned out to have been worthwhile. I really enjoyed Infamous: SS, easily the best next-gen game I've played so far.
Hopefully the delay for The Order: 1886 turns out equally well.

Just for the record, I'm not at all upset with the delay. I just don't like Sony's track record on jerking people around with release dates.

One side note: I actually like that the weapons seem to be inaccurate (besides that pistol), as it'll force players to get close and personal - which was put to great effect in the first Gears.
These knights have an elixir called BlackWater which can heal their wounds in seconds, the side effect to using blackwater is Black Sight which gives you the ability to slow down time, as explained by Ms. Tina Amini in the kotaku video.
Halo 5 was never delayed, they never said it's coming in 2014.
