Playfire Rewards Discussion Thread

That doesn't appear to be the case? I checked your account and your last reward was transferred yesterday. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, I guess it tripped since I posted. Sorry about that. I'm still missing a handful of rewards though since the system doesn't seem to like me earning achievements at the last minute.

This is my biggest/only complaint about the service. If you get an achievement during the last day or so even, it's a gamble if you get the reward or not. I'm missing rewards that neve tracked even though I was well in time, but it's just £1 so it's not really worth complaining about. I wish they would just extend the reward period for another day behind the scenes to make sure that doesn't happen though. As it is right now, you have to at least substract a day from the countdown.

Seem like only playtime is being tracked for me at the moment, and not achievements. Other people are reporting the same.

Yea this happened to me too. A bunch of my Wolfenstein achievements haven't been picked up, but a game I played for the first time after finishing Wolf has been.

Same here, got all the "Play for the first time" rewards but not a single achievement reward

Best part of this (aside from money) is that I have some motivation to try games I otherwise would have probably never played. I thought it would be cool to write a few sentences about games I tried recently so here we go:

Tower of Guns:
A roguelike FPS (good) that looks like Borderlands and feels like Borderlands (bad). All the enemies are stationary turrets or floating robots. Guns feel like weak pea-shooters. Got 360 controller prompts while playing with KBM and the Vsync option did nothing. Didn't enjoy it at all.
Rewards were luck based since the levels are randomly generated, but were straightforwards and took only 30 minutes to get.

The Bridge:
A puzzle-platformer (very) similar to Braid. Instead of using time-related mechanics, puzzles are solved by rotating the 2D world around you. Interesting, but kind of played out concept at this point. Since puzzles are dependent on gravity and physics, finding a clear solution can be frustrating. It was okay.
Rewards require you to beat the game's normal chapters 1-4 (~2 hours) and then play ch. 1 and 3 again in "mirrored" with increased difficulty (another hour). Solution for the last achievement (in the last level of mirrored ch. 3) can be found on youtube.

Ascend: Hand of Kul:
Interesting mix of God of War, MMO and (watered-down) Dark Souls multiplayer mechanics. Sadly it's not very polished and a grind riddled with pay to win microtransaction bullshit. Only went for the £0.10 reward.

Muffin Knight:
It's Super Crate Box with a fantasy theme. Quite buggy, no resolution options, achievements are not working at all since the latest patch. It has an online mode so that could be fun.
EDIT: First two rewards are actually working and easy, only the "kill x enemies" ones aren't since the game isn't tracking that at the moment.

Out There Somewhere:
Best game I've played for rewards recently. A 2D platformer with cute pixel graphics, great soundtrack and a puzzle mechanic comparable to The Swapper. You have a gun that shoots straight ahead and teleports you wherever the projectile hits. Momentum is conserved after the teleport, so most puzzles revolve around applying that concept correctly.
It's short (<1 hour) but it takes around 2-3 hours to find all the secrets (some of them are hidden quite well, but nothing too obscure) and that's the perfect length for it.
The lower two rewards shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, while the highest reward requires you to find every room in a single playthrough, which took me 2.5 hours.
Here's a link to the trailer, more people should check it out.

I agree, and I try to only play games I'm still enjoying for the rewards unless they are really easy to get. This program has definitely gotten me to play a lot of stuff that I have had sitting around.

If you liked the idea, stick with it some, get some of the better gun unlocks and once they level up it's a lot more fun. That said, you got really lucky to get those achievements that fast.

Not super fun but it's perfectly playable and seems balanced around not paying anything, so it's more like "pay to make it easier." Plus there's not really pvp so anything p2w is fairly irrelevant.

My achievement stats screen seems to be tracking the kill awards and even counted some of what I had from my pre-existing save on the DRM free version. Don't know if I'll try for the 3k kills, I'm only about half way there and I've already played a good bit before it was on Steam. But if it was broken before it seems to be fixed now.

Still messed up I think. None of my Tower of Guns or Transistor rewards have shown up but the play first time ones have. I've been able to dodge Playfire support until now, but I probably should have known that couldn't last forever.

This is a problem that has been happening for everyone, it seems. No achievements have been tacked since Thursday and lots of reward periods have ended. I think they have to do some site wide fix, otherwise their support staff will be even more hopelessly overburdened.

*sigh*

my playfire seemed to be going well for a while there, now it's not recognised my getting Transistor achievements, bloody sick of this -_-

Btw I realized the companion tool got updated to also show F2P in the list. So it's the ultimate tool for playfire rewards collecting now. :D

For "What are they worth?" in Resident Evil 4, do I need to get the bottle caps at certain points or can I just get all of them near the end by playing the last shooting range over and over? I skipped over the first shooting ranges because they weren't all that interesting after the first playthrough ages ago.

Oh wow, should check back more often after all the Watch Doge herpderp. Almost missed out on the launch money for Drakerz, will try Ascend tomorrow, looks pretty damn cool.

Gotta rant a little bit here, since the Playfire email support clearly is amazingly incompetent.

This all started April 12, when I sent in a ticket for not receiving the rewards for Type Rider.
11 days later I get a reply asking me to check if the missing credits were added and they were not.
I let them know that it didn't work and 13 days later they ask me once again to check my account.
Once again they had failed to actually add the credits to my balance.
Well, third time's the charm I hoped, sent them a mail again and also added that I didn't get the SR3 Hater's Gonna Hate reward.
They were quick with the reply and asked me to check my balance if the missing credits were added.

This time, I actually was unsure if they were added, since I didn't really know how much credits I had previously.
Was told here that they just add the credits, without adding the achievements in the reward page and I thought it just had work the third time, right?

Only a few days later, I didn't get my rewards for Full Mojo Rampage and sent another ticket to support about it.
Pretty quickly I get a reply that it should have been taken care of.
I wasn't totally sure if they did this time either, so I decided to use math.

I was supposed to get a total of £1.80 added to my balance.
After a whole lot of addition, I find out that only £0.50 was added, missing £1.30.
The £0.50 probably was from SR3 Hater's Gonna Hate which was a known bug and I guess they fixed that for everyone.
I also noticed this:

xAQqtkw.png

So now I'm actually missing £1.55.

This is getting ridiculous, I can't sit here every time counting every penny to see if they actually did their job.

I certainly feel where you're coming from. I resolved a while back just to take what I got credit for and write off the rest (I never got Type:Rider credit either incidentally, it seems like it was a common problem). The stress of trying to monitor every penny and send multiple emails for a fairly small amount of credit was driving me away from attempting to get anything at all, which was an even bigger net loss.

The program is certainly less buggy than it was (this past weekend not withstanding where it seems like no one got credit for anything), but it still has a long way to go, and considering how undermanned their support system undoubtedly is, I'm just going to enjoy the fairly substantial credit I'm already getting, continue to use the program as motivation to try new and old games, and not let the stress of what I may not get affect me.

Personally I just wish they'd sync new rewards more with games they put on sale instead of new releases, I could really use some Remember Me rewards right now to help justify the purchase I made and motivate me to actually play it...

I haven't been able to finish my Playfire account since I get stuck at asking for my playfire password after entering my GMG account. I don't remember actually registering for it and there's no way to ask for my password to be sent to my email at this stage so I'm not sure what to do.

I agree to some extent and I also track the achievements I get manually to make sure everything is tracked (so far it has been mostly fine except for one or two cases and this weekend) but you have to keep in mind that this is actually a beta and we're pretty much getting paid to test their system. I'm pretty sure they know it's not working perfectly and also aren't happy about it. Support definitely needs improvement, it shouldn't take 3-4 emails back and forth until missed rewards are added.

Yeah I wish they offered a bigger variety of games every day, not just the new releases. Games on sale and just random older games. They already do that, but not often enough. I'd also like to see a repeat of some games that were already part of the program before since I started later. Maybe just one or two a week in addition to everything else.

I should probably send in a ticket for this achievement because it didn't register for me either. I'm also having some problems with a few Rush Bros achievements not registering.

Who do we contact again about missing rewards? I got the Tower of Guns ones, but they're not on my list (the last ones being Strike Suit Zero).

Edit: Should have read the page first.

We are aware that there is a problem, affecting a small number of users, with Playfire's ability to track Steam achievements.

This is due to an internal server error with Steam's API which means that our systems are unable to track specific game achievement data.

Unfortunately this means that for the time being we are going to have to wait and be patient while Valve resolve this issue. At this time we don't know how long it will be down for but we will update you when we know more.

If this is impacting your ability to earn Playfire Rewards please contact Customer Services.

Great. And I doubt that it's a small number of users, since I haven't heard of anyone who had achievements tracked in the last days.

ah..so thats why my Outlast (just one reward so far) hasn't been counted for yet. Hopefully it all gets worked out.

I also never did get my "link steam account" reward from long ago but I guess its way too late to fix that.

My QUBE play for the first time achievement tracked too. Just got the rest today so I can only see if they tracked tomorrow. After my first ticket, all rewards track for me though, even for last minute achievements. Just gotta wait for the system to slowly transfer my credits.

Also never got link steam account moneys lol

I didn't go for any QUBE ones besides the "play for the first time" one, but that did actually go through.

Play for the first time rewards are all still working, since the system is still tracking playtime. It's just not tracking actual achievements.

EDIT: They're actually putting up new rewards today.. Really not a fan of how they're handling it

Yeah, pretty sure the issue is universal. They should put all the rewards on hold until it is resolved

Exactly, is there anyone in this thread with achievements getting tracked? It's far far worse customer service to imply that's it's only a few people, because now all of those people will file service tickets and complaints. Just admit it's a massive issue and people will understand far more. Those of us who try to be tolerant of the bugginess of the program will rapidly lose our patience when being lied to.

Guess that explains why The Bridge achievements I did never showed up.
Also seems like the money currency issue is still going, I had $12.21 as none of the CSGO rewards had transferred. Logged to GMG and they did... but the total turned to $12.81, when the the amount that should've been added was £0.90 :/ (well technically £1.00 because the "Play for the first time" reward never got tracked)

I don't get why the statement wasn't just "Hey we're aware of the problems but it's on Valve's end so our hands are tied. Once it's fixed we'll make sure all rewards that are currently missing are added to your account."

It shouldn't take more than extending all current reward periods until everything is working again and everybody would've been happy I guess. Gonna wait until the end of the week and then contact support with quite a long list of missing stuff..

Missing 27(!) achievements, mostly from Wolfenstein. Sent them a support request yesterday. Hopefully they get around to it soonish.

Some people are claiming that other sites like Raptr and astats are tracking steam achievements without any issue. Haven't checked myself but if that's true then something is wrong on their end

I honestly feel really bad for their support staff right now because they are going to get absolutely slammed with complaints and requests and it's obvious their IT department is just trying to pass the buck and insist that their already barely functional system is working normally and that it's a Steam issue only affecting a few people. Besides, if it's a Steam issue, it would obviously affect everyone. So they're just contradicting themselves and looking like massive idiots (or liars) in the process.

I can confirm that Raptr has tracked all my achievements from this weekend that Playfire is missing, and that's using simple account linking, I do not use the client. They also have the dates they were unlocked, which some of the Playfire people are insisting can't be tracked. It really seems like a lot of FUD is being passed to the Playfire PR people by their tech department about how Steam's API works.

Playfire stopped tracking achievements on May 22nd for me. Guess I'll have to send a ticket yet another time.

I'm missing all achievements from Chomp, Chomp, Chomp, Q.U.B.E: DC and 9 achievements from Rush Bros.

I think they should implement an option to force sync achievements manually, like ps trophies.

I have a similar issue.
Yesterday I took all Q.U.B.E. achiements but today only Play for the first time have showed up this morning; now there's only 3 hours left and I have a bad feeling, I don't feel like submitting another ticket :(

After having this for about a month, missing acheevs and payouts, and 500s up the bum, I can see why it's in beta.

Still, nice to see digital distro sites upping their game against Steam.

Between this, Origin, and Humble's incentives, Steam is not my Go To site anymore.
