We could only speculate that it would be called Beast's Souls.. hell, it may not even have a name at the E3 reveal.

That said, the stealth port begging shit is getting really annoying. This includes posts like "wouldn't it be funny if this was MS exclusive," which I've seen persona7 and others comment on several times over the last twelve hours. You don't get to selectively believe parts of the same fucking leak as it pleases you. You can't believe the images, gifs, and webms, and blatantly ignore the message that it's a PS4 exclusive developed by FROM and Sony Japan Studios. Those two things are intrinsically linked. Cut the selective blindness bullshit.
 
Whip based weapons and shotgun has me major hyped, hope the character creator is a lot better so I can create a nice looking female character to whip demon ass :D Also would nunchaku be too crazy for this game, haha

Hell, I even have tickets to the theater screening for this, along with my equally enthusiastic guest, and man it would've been a treat. Leaks suck

This game looks really good, makes me a proud-er PS4 owner.

And yes MSFT could easily afford to buy SNE in cash. MSFT has in excess of $40B of cash sitting in the balance sheet and SNE is worth about $17B, tak on another $3B for good will, you're looking at a $20B buy.

The real question is why would MSFT buy SNE - there's no reason to; SNE is a money losing operation that's heavily in debt... Gamers can keep dreaming, but an acquisition would have to be clearly justified - I don't see it (right now).

In general I don't see this generation selling quite as well as past generations because companies themselves don't seem to be moving in that direction. Even large companies seem to be refocusing on mobile, including Square, Capcom, Nintendo, etc. I'm not sure how that ultimately pans out though; mobile's not a fad, it's here to stay, but we haven't seen what the impact is yet on companies that are not traditionally mobile-centric. In a way, it feels a bit like the wild west in the early Nintendo days where companies were transferring from traditional hanafuda and other games and into electronic software. But there's an established zeitgeist now and their demands are myriad.

I fully believe this game is PS4 exclusive as reported, but to play the most devilish of advocates, it does make some sense to me to doubt the info conveyed in text but not doubt the images and videos, which indisputably exist.

But again, I agree this is very likely a case of biased reasoning and selective perception on the part of the deniers.

NB wasn't involved with Demon's Souls development, SCEJ was. NB only published it in Europe and Australia. Atlus published it in North America, while SCEJ handled Japan.

I'm really hoping for Castlevania Souls.

That video might have been the hypest 15 seconds of the year for me. This is why I might be at a theater for E3; to soak this in with the rest of the crazies.

Not necessarily. Sony COULD give it to NB to release here, but aside from localization, I don't think NB would change anything in development.

This is just speculation, but assuming this is real, and SCEJ is behind this, it won't have a PC port. Sony needs to move consoles in Japan. PS4 didn't do nearly as well in Japan as it did here. It's already being outsold by the Vita. Plus, what SCEJ game has EVER been put on PC? It will remain a PS exclusive, likely PS4 exclusive. We're now 6 months into the PS4's life, it's time to stop the cross-generation games.

Oh man, I remember from software during years 2000-2003. No game of them got many threads on gamingage/neogaf. Lost Kingdoms, Otogi, Kings Field, Evergrace only got half a page and look at them now, they are on the front page on GAF being discussed by everyone. Man if you told me that back in 2000, I would never believed you. Congratz From Software, you are the new Squaresoft in terms of japanese developer that everyone is hyping up. One day you will be Square Enix sadly.

The thing is... what IS Castlevania these days? I still equate it to the old Metroidvania days which appear to be long, long gone.

In some ways, I could see how the Souls series has a likeness to Castlevania, but I would not directly compare the two.
