Watch Dogs biggest non-GTA/BF/CoD/FIFA UK launch, 17th biggest all-time, 76% PS4/XB1

PlayStation 4 counted for the vast majority of physical copies and helped the PS4 itself to a 94 per cent increase in hardware sales over last week

So is the bundle counted with the physical copies or seperate?

94% increase in sold Ps4? Goddayum. Those NPD are going to be a slaughter.
And then Destiny? No wonder people says Ps4 doesn't need exclusive comes to sell well this year.

So Watch_Dogs PS4 bundling did more for that platform than Titanfall XB1 bundling did for its platform?

Apparently yes.
I bought it Day1 even though the anticlimatic attitude from this board against the game got my expectations really low but GAF was so wrong about this game. Its absolutely fun and well done.

come on... look at the install base for X360 and PS3 in the UK.. and then look at the Wii-U numbers..

Sorry, I can't give you this one. The PS4 and XB1 versions of Watch Dogs, a multiplatform game, has outsold Mario Kart 8, the biggest Wii U exclusive, and has also outsold the 360 and PS3 versions of Watch Dogs. Even if Mario Kart 8 individually outsold all Watch Dogs versions, it still wouldn't have been that impressive since you're dividing sales by 4, but yes it would have been a little more impressive at least.

Games like FIFA and COD are outselling stuff like Super Mario 3D World on every console they are releasing on.

WD 1st week in UK
PS4 49%
Xbone 27%
X360 13%
PS3 9%

Look at that. Fuck. I had NO idea this game was going to dominate on one platform like this, even in the UK. That's exactly the sort of shit we used to see in 2007 for the X360 (obviously not in the UK.) but 50% on a big title .... is definitely 'status report meeting' time.

Despite the delay and other issues, the game was always going to be a major hit I think. No way was it going to lose so many interested folks due to said issues that it would be anything other than a success.

Still, it's a good game so I'm happy for UbiSoft. In a couple of months they will get another hit out of the gates with Assassin's Creed Unity. Then there is the PS3/360 one and Far Cry 4.

Must feel good for them. :lol

So...

Watch Dogs PS4 (49%) - 190,120
Watch Dogs One (27%) - 104,760
Watch Dogs 360 (13%) - 50,440
Watch Dogs PS3 (9%) - 34,920
Watch Dogs PC (2%) - 7,760

Sony's marketing deal came off, well see what happens with Destiny.

Would be really interesting to see the platform breakdown of sales given that PS4 hardware sales boost.

EDIT: L2ReadEntireThread those numbers aren't as stark as I thought they would be. Still, not far off double for the PS4 I guess

Sony were very smart to have a co marketing deal with watchdogs. Next up destiny.
You bet! An awesome deal!
This and DESTINY soon..... the co-marketing deals were great this time.
Good job, Sony!

WD has done really well. It's the kind of game that GTA fans want, but different enough to not feel like a clone of it. I think the game is good myself, nothing ground breaking, but it doesn't need to.

How well the sequel sells will be the real test. Hopefully we won't be finding that out a year from now.

friday i went to Amsterdam biggest media markt shop. there were only 3 ps4 watch dogs bundle left. al sold out in 3 days.

So...

Watch Dogs PS4 (49%) - 190,120
Watch Dogs One (27%) - 104,760
Watch Dogs 360 (13%) - 50,440
Watch Dogs PS3 (9%) - 34,920
Watch Dogs PC (2%) - 7,760

Based on leaderboards after 4 days there was over 400K PC players. So day one sales need to be higher than that.

So is the bundle counted with the physical copies or seperate?

In the UK charts, bundles are counted as physical copies iirc.

About Destiny, I really don't see it being able to pull off the same thing. Not nearly as hyped as Watch_Dogs. You could hear chatter about WD a year ago, 3 months from Destiny, and no real chatter. Most consumers probably don't know what it is yet.

Not saying it'll tank, but it won't do WD numbers, and probably won't boost PS4 sales as much.
