I get what you're saying, but then why bring over a similar design language (ie flat icons)?

They kept the designs the way they should. The Mac icons should never look like the iOS ones. But they still made them simplistic while still keeping them Mac-like. iOS is a completely different beast and can get away with flat simple icons based on shapes.

Because licensing... it's not that hard. Music / Film industry would never allow you to share. By saying with same credit card, Apple can argue that same person owns the rights to the music even if across accounts.

Chrome can open YouTube links in the YouTube app. There are lots of other examples.
