Media Molecule not showing anything at E3

Hope this means VR wont have much of a presence.

I think VR will be almost non-existent at the E3 press conferences this year.
I expect some developers to throw in a little line about their game supporting Morpheus, but not much else beyond that.
Next year is a different story tho.

Guerilla Games to the rescue

and Project Morpheus

Guerilla releasing two games, one from each of their teams, before most of the others even get through their first would be pretty impressive.

Also, while I'm highly interested in Morpheus, I still don't really know how something like that that you need to wear demos on stage well at a game conference where everyone wants game announcements and we only see the screen, other than just announcing which games are supporting it.

Second/Third Party working on SONY IP's:
- From Software (Project: Beast)
- Supermassive Games (Until Dawn)
- OVOSONICO (Murasaki Baby)
- Giant Sparrow (Unannounced title)
- Quantic Dream (BEYOND team + Unannounced new IP)
- The Chinese Room (Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture)
- Novarama Games (Working on an unannounced title / maybe Invizimals for PS4)
- Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs (Shadow of the Beast)
- Tequila Works (RIME)
- Housemarque (Resogun DLC + Unannounced title)

- Arrowhead Game Studios (Helldivers)

I can't remember, do we know or believe that Sanzaru Games is working on something else for Sony?

Why are we counting out ND and SOE? Are you just guessing for new IPs or E3 showings? I expect both of those studios will be there.
"Counting out" because of the above mentioned IP's. (Entwined, KILL STRAIN, Bloodborne, GunsUp!) I don't think one of them is developing one of these titles.
I'm sure both will be at Sony's Presser (Uncharted 4 + PlanetSide 2).

- Arrowhead Game Studios (Helldivers)

I can't remember, do we know or believe that Sanzaru Games is working on something else for Sony?
Yep, you're right. Forgot HELLDIVERS :)
Updated!
Sanzaru is developing a Sonic game, if I remember correctly.
So they're not working on a Sony game (Sly, etc.) anymore.

And btw. it seems like Tarsier are developing their own IP (Hunger). Which means it isn't a Sony IP.

Ok, so we have the following IP's (what we know):
- Entwined
- Bloodborne
- KILL STRAIN
- Guns Up!

Studios, which we can count out (which are not the devs of the above mentioned IP's):
- Sony Santa Monica Studio (too soon)
- Guerrilla Cambridge / Cambridge Studio (too soon)
- Media Molecule (see Thread)
- Naughty Dog (Uncharted 4 + TLOU: Remastered)
- Sucker Punch (inFAMOUS: Second Son / DLC)
- Foster City Studio (doesn't make own games anymore)
- Sony Online Entertainment (PlanetSide 2, EverQuest Next/Landmark, H1Z1)
- Ready at Dawn (The Order: 1886 only)

So what is left:
- Sony Japan Studio (over 400 people / several teams)
- Sony London Studio (SingStar Team + Project Morpheus Team + another team/Unannounced title)
- Evolution Studios (DRIVECLUB only)
- Guerrilla Games (Killzone: Shadow Fall Team + Unannounced new IP)
- Sony Bend (1 Team / Unannounced new IP)
- Sony San Diego Studio (MLB The Show Team + Rumored Second team / Unannounced new IP)
- Polyphony Digital (two Studios, in two different towns --> Gran Turismo only, as it seems)
- Pixel Opus (new Sony Studio in San Mateo / one team / Unannounced new IP)

Second/Third Party working on SONY IP's:
- From Software (Project: Beast)
- Supermassive Games (Until Dawn)
- Giant Sparrow (Unannounced title)
- Quantic Dream (BEYOND team + Unannounced new IP)
- Clap Hanz (maybe "Everybody's Golf 7" for the PS4)
- The Chinese Room (Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture)
- Novarama Games (Working on an unannounced title / maybe Invizimals for PS4)
- Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs (Shadow of the Beast)
- Tequila Works (RIME)
- Housemarque (Resogun DLC + Unannounced title)
- Arrowhead Game Studios (HELLDIVERS)
- Honeyslug (Hohokum)
- Queasy Games (Sound Shapes)
- OVOSONICO (Murasaki Baby / VITA-only)
- Marvelous AQL (Soul Sacrifice / VITA-only)
- Shift (Freedom Wars / VITA-only)
- Dimps (Freedom Wars / VITA-only)
- Alfa System (Over My Dead Body 2 / VITA-only)
- On The Metal (BigFest / VITA-only)

So what do you say, guys? Who's doing what? ;-)
We thought "Entwined" could be Media Molecule's game. Seems like it isn't.
"Bloodborne" could be Project Beast/Demon Souls 2
"KILL STRAIN" could be Sony Bend's game.
"Guns Up!" ..... no idea. Maybe a new Ratchet?

Start the guesses ^_^

Also for you second/third party working with Sony: Freedom Wars and BigFest for vita.
Yeah, I know.
- Marvelous AQL (Soul Sacrifice)
- Shift (Freedom Wars)
- Dimps (Freedom Wars)
- Alfa System (Over My Dead Body 2)
- On The Metal (BigFest)

I didn't mentioned them, because they're VITA-only.
But whatever... I've added them ;)

What is the main team at Media Molecule doing? I know they did a lot of DLC for LBP2 and set a small team apart for Tearaway, buy I feel like they're taking their sweet time with their next big game. Judging from the extremely vague prototype stuff at the PS4 reveal and this, their next game might be a long way off.

Sony can be a bit too lenient with its studio's.

God forbid they take another year. The world could end.

It would be fair to add :
- Clap Hanz is on a new Everybody 's Golf
- Grasshopper Manufacture and their Lily Bergamo
- Zindagi Games on something Move related

You're too late :P
Clap Hanz is already on the list.
Grasshopper isn't making a Sony IP. So they're out.
And it seems like Zindagi isn't making Sony games either/anymore.

That's a nice list but there isn't anything that really stands out as a megaton. Hope to see some amazing new game that blows me away.
"Stands out as megaton"?
We know the names of four unannouced IP's. Of course they aren't megatons, because we don't know what kind of games they are....
Project Beast is a "megaton".
Uncharted 4 will be a "megaton"
etc.

It's not like the other camp has currently more known "megatons" for E3.

I say give Media Molecule all the time they need if they can come out with another Masterpiece such as Tearaway. Such a creative and fun game, and I'm excited to wait for whatever Media Molecule follows through with next.

99% sure they're working on a Project Morpheus VR game. The reason why they can't show anything yet -> Project Morpheus isn't quite ready yet.

I don't think it'll be Morpheus required. I also think we will see Morpheus stuff at E3, maybe Until Dawn.

I think they just want more time and Sony don't think they need it just yet.

Why does something have to be a megaton for it to be great at that show? The obsession with those announcements just makes no sense. Many consider the FFXIII 360 announcement to be a megaton, but look at that now. Some feel that it's the weakest entry in the series and the PS3 version still wrecked the 360 version in sales.

I don't think either of them are megatons since we already know about them and they're basically sequels. An amazing new IP out of the blue or an unexpected 3rd party exclusive would be a megaton.

No way, I would called big bomb. Megaton is rare. Something like GTA full exclusive, last real one maybe FFXIII 360. It happened a lot on beginning 2000s.

..... that doesn't make any sense.
Seems like you have your own rule what a "megaton" showing/announcement is.

Wow, DualShockers, the same source that claimed Media Molecule's game was a part of Sony's big E3 conference this year. Great source!

Just to be clear, DualShockers won't be getting any traffic from NeoGAF as of about five seconds after Sony's press conference ends this E3.

I presume the mods vote on stuff like this--or at least run it by more than one person. And I also presume this took all of three seconds to get done.

I'm not mad--I'm kinda tired of websites that turn tweets into articles.

They're probably trying to do something innovative like LBP was in 2007.
Maybe they might have something to share at Gamescom. Being a euro team they're a good match for that show.

This makes me way less hyped for Sony's E3. I was confident this would be there, but now that it's not...ehh..

I have a feeling that all we're really going to get is Uncharted 4, a bunch of third party stuff, indies, and maybe 1 new unknown IP from one of Sony's studios....along with Project Beast which was already spoiled so the excitement for that is largely out of the way.

I thought they had the most realistic shot of showing something off, given that the last console release was back in January of 2011.

I seriously doubt Sony Santa Monica will have much of anything to show, and Guerrilla Games may just have a teaser like The Order last year (at best) for their new IP.

Uncharted 4 better blow people's minds or the conference could be a downer.

What? You know what's going to blow you away before it's revealed? Did we already forget Hello Games and No Man's Sky? And what's with some peoples obsessions with Megatons? Even megatons flop... Whatever. That list is sexy. It's good to finally have something out there and correct. I'll be linking to it regularly enough.

Dammit Shinobi. That actually makes me a bit happy though. Don't know why.

I think the only thing that can really save Sony's E3 are:

-Uncharted 4 looking amazeballs.
-Guerrilla Games new IP being shown
-Project Beast officially announced
-The Last Guardian re-reveal

Anything short of that will be a disappointment at this point.
