I don't think Bungie ever set out to reshape fight encounters though. I mean, I wish they did, especially since I don't like modern shooter mechanics other than Halo's; nevertheless, Destiny's main attraction is supposed to be its social adventure aspect. You'd explore a large, ever-evolving world and encounter other players along the way. You can group up with them and show off your gear or find new ones, or you may choose to go off on your own journey and "create your own story".
It's a rather basic premise that would be incredible if it was accomplished. The problem is just that - it sounds good on paper, but they continue to show everything except Destiny's selling point.
This post says it best. They've promised a monumental game but have failed to show anything that delivers on that promise for over a year now. It's amusing how leaks like these do a better job of showing us what it is than the devs themselves do.
I don't think anybody really wants the game to be bad, but if it ends up bombing commercially Bungie and Activision wont have anyone to blame but themselves.
