Eurogamer: GTA V coming to PC early 2014

I'll just buy it on PS4 again. No point otherwise.

And for those asking why they "delayed" the PC version:

1) 33M sold on 2 platforms. Resources go there, fairly obvious. The petition had around 650-1M sigs? Barely a dent.

2) Never announced, so there is no actual delay.

I get the disappointment, but it's been out for months and RDR still isn't there. If you can wait a year or years every time, I salute you.

Safer option to just buy on console rather than wait and hope. Yes, 4 came, but was it worth the wait time? I love that series, so for me it's a no, and I would've bought the PC version too if it came out earlier.

Games developed by Rockstar San Diego are known to not come to PC. Rockstar anything else, and that's not the case.

Let it go guys there won't be a PC version of GTA V or Red dead redemption, just get a console and play the games. Better than waiting for the impossible.
I own a PS3 and I own GTAV. But it plays so awful with the subpar framerate and I cant do it.

Will continue to hold out.

So, Steamworks?

Yeah, I'm kinda scared what kind of drm there gonna cook up for this game. Last one was securom, rockstar social club, and gfwl. All of those are out of business now, so they would have to really want to screw paying customers with new invented drms.

Excuse me while I play the best GTA game of all time. 1440p/60FPS

Problem with SA is that 60fps kinda breaks the game. (Can't drive at full speed and other glitches)

It'll props be Steamworks and Social Club.

Good that I didn't wait out like some people for the pc release and just got the PS3 version last summer. If a pc or ps4 release ever comes, I'll gladly buy it again.

lol @ playing GTA with KB/M :/

Pls tell me the pc ports other than IV support controller? Bought them years ago in a steam sale, never got around to revisiting them.

Kinda. I used to use joy2key to get them to work barely. Now I just play them on my FireTv. That thing works perfectly, and I think the graphics on them are even better too.

I doubt anything will be announced at E3. Just doesnt fit r* track record.

Plus, has there actually been any credible reports or rumors? Ive seen the euro gamer stuff and a few random retailers list next gen and pc preorders, but I wouldnt classify those as credible.

Main thing is this. I'm pretty sure he's being serious. Mods here tend to get pretty serious when talking about 'rumors'.

I think RDR PC dream is over but there is still a big chance for GTA5 (still less than a year since it is original release on PS360)

You all should be giving your money to developers who supported PC with great ports and great open world games. AKA, Sleeping Dogs, if you haven't.

You sure you are not describing when you just turn the frame limiter off? In-game v-sync locks the game to 24 FPS for that cinematic feel, turn it off and you are running the game at 180 FPS.

There are errors reported at uncapped framerates, but I haven't seen any when locking to 60 so far.

If you bought Watch_Dogs and you haven't played Sleeping Dogs yet, then you are a bad person.

Weren't Rockstar supposed to be showing something amazing on next gen last month, but pulled it at the last minute? (I can't remember who said it, but it was a member of the gaming press)

I still think it was GTA V on PS4/XBONE.

I don't think there's any particular reason why we shouldn't still believe there are intentions of a PC version. Yeah - it's coming on for a bit longer than usual now - but it's also an unusual situation in regards to the next-generation consoles.

I hope it comes.. I only played through GTAV once and I've been craving to go back to it and play around in that world - because I intentionally refrained from doing that in hope of a PC version.

I don't want to have to wait until GTA VI to play a good next gen open world game. :(

If Deep Silver can give Volition the time and money to make a next gen Saints Row (something like SR2 and not rushed or with small budget like Saints Row 3/4) we might get good open world game before the next GTA.

that or RDR3 and Sleeping Dogs 2 (if they can fix SD1 issues in the sequel)

So what version of GTA V was running in the commercials? It surely wasn't 360/PS3. The one shown during Breaking Bad was 60fps and had better much better lighting effects.

I thought Rockstar didn't care about E3? Have they ever announced anything other than like console exclusive stuff at the one of the big press conferences? I don't think we'll get any news about GTAV next week but I hope I'm wrong.

I don't recall anything. Even their announcements on stage were made by console execs, like Moore or Tretton.

Andy Mcnamara tweeted the other day that his guess for Microsoft's secret reveal is a timed next gen exclusive for GTA 5.

There's also this Yahoo video created the other day. The narrator acts like its a sure thing.

Andy is credible but in this case I think he's only guessing.Yahoo appears to have pulled their info from their butts.

I'd be so fucking annoyed if this was the case. But it does strike me as something Microsoft might do to increase sales (and I'm sure it would).

Meh. I have PS3. Friend gave in and bought GTA5, and offered to let me borrow it after he finished it.

I said "you can keep it. I am not going back to last gen shit. Watch Dogs is coming out soon anyway."

So, I am waiting. If they never release it, which I doubt, who cares?
Now, about Witcher 3..

Cruel bump. Even though I wasn't huge on the game I'd pick it up again on the PC, if only for the graphics, modding, and the fact that I'd be far more likely to be able to set a game up with some friends easily. Hopefully we hear something soon.

Sure, I get it. I can never wait that long though.
Side note, yea, my PS3 is a Telltale machine and that's it. Last-gen only stuff this year disappoints me, like Borderlands, not buying it.

I've been playing Watch Dogs and I'm still "eh" on it so far.

I don't think I'll get it on PC.
The only GTA I've played has been San Andreas, and I still need to finish that.

Maybe as a Black Friday $15 deal for 360 or something. :/

Still, it's great that they ported it to PC. The game mods made GTA4 an interesting beast. lol

Timed exclusivity wouldn't bother me too much. But if it ultimately released again on PS4 I would double dip.

It's kind of disheartening how Rockstar seems to progressively care less and less about PC releases of GTA with each subsequent entry in the series.

They don't mind filling up their news page with all kinds of crazy mod video's and what people do with the games which always seemed kind of weird to me considering their despise of the platform and modding in particular.

Normally there are issues as soon as you go over 24fps, but maybe you are lucky.

I just really want to mod the cars in the game. Although, I imagine that would be twice as difficult, since now modders have to account for multiple individual parts.

Make this happen, R*...

I'm not talking about port begging. The point of why would someone want a PS4 or Xbox One version when there's the 'superior' PC version is a pointless question. Not everyone plays games on their PC or has a gaming PC but is interested in the next gen consoles, it's simple really.
I'm confused at why you put equation marks around the word, "superior"? As if to imply that it is a matter of opinion that a PC version of a game will be better in every aspect than it console counterpart.

What rational reason is there for them not to bring the game to PC? It would absolutely sell. Odd company, it's like they don't realize the platform exists, or someone at Rockstar really hates it for some reason, because it would surely be profitable.
