Halo Master Chief Collection: H1-4. H2 full remaster. 1080p60. $59.99 Nov 11 Xbox One

Honestly. I just want you to sit down for a second and really think about the value you get here. Without those emotions from the last hours.

What 343 put together for the price of a regular videogame is simply ... outstanding. Every other remake/collection following this won't offer this much value. Never ever. The package nearly guarantees something for everyone who has ever heard something about Halo before. I am not only saying this as a Halo fanboy, but especially as a long-year multiplatform gamer.

I like the multiplayer features. I like 60 fps. I like 1080p. I like 4 complete campaigns. I like 100 multiplayer maps. Two of them remastered. I like completely new cutscenes and sounds. I like their "one UI" idea. But the value is what stands out here.

Can't wait to experience these titles for the first time. Scalebound and Sunset Overdrive sold me on XB1, but this is the cherry on top. Seems like unsurpassed value (but give us a bundle anyway!).

This is honestly the biggest thing for E3, by FAR. You get 180 dollars of added value to what ever console you purchase because theirs no way in hell you're going to pass up something like this even if you haven't played Halo before. Basically you get 4 games for 60 dollars. 240 dollars normally minus the game purchase adds 180 dollars to the system. So basically you can buy a system and get 3 games +4 but wait. Say you buy a bundle with Forza 5. Now you get 8 games for that same price. Either way, you're making 180 bucks when you buy an Xbox One with HMCC

All campaign missions unlocked from the start. Reason being bc of the new playlist feature.
So you can jump into any Act in any of the games off the bat. I wonder why they don't encourage you to play through a game to unlock them so then they can be used in the playlist.

The only way this could have been improved is if this was instead the Halo Bungie Collection, and included ODST and Reach instead of Halo 4. Halo Reach needs 60 fps treatment more than any of the other Halo's anyway. And I have no love whatsoever for it's Halo 4. and would rather just pretend the story ended at 3. And also, ODST and Reach are the ones with Firefight, which is an AWESOME mode that would have been right at home in dedicated servers.

I have never beat the original halo but beat Halo 2-4. This MC collection will allow to beat the original remastered version plus provide extra goodies!

So will there be matchmaking playlists specific to each game? i.e. Can I go into matchmaking and choose to only play Halo 2 Team Slayer?

The way it sounded you choose the game type and vote for map/game, so on any given round I could get Team Slayer on any map in any of the games. That seems silly to me.

So, technically Battle Canyon, High Noon, Penance, Ridgeline, Solitary and Breakneck were all part of Halo 1 Anniversary. But I don't suppose they'll be included here without an engine to run on, since they ran on the Reach engine.
Oh well.

On a different note, I hope they make an attempt to unify the control scheme. Keep them all as similar as possible so that jumping between games isnt too troubling.

This threw me off a bit. My guess is this is a mistake but did you see which games were in the Grifball hopper?

The lack of Halo 3 has to mean its a mistake but everything else about the playlist is proper... weird.

Spoke with a few mates and we just confirmed a midweek midnight launch LAN party for this MC collection. Dedicated Halo fans right here.

Anyone else already making plans for this launch date of Nov 11th? Just curious is all and I can't wait to have any of the maps/gametypes ready to go in one game/disc. Amazing.

Fingers crossed the system link games all come together without hassle or being cut before launch.

Anyone else thinking the graphics for H2A are on par with what the 360 could do. It looks great and all but its not exactly next-gen. CEA looked gorgeous so I was expecting more.

i imagine work began on the 360 soon after halo CEA. the game then got worked into this collection bundle

Yep this puts almost every other remake to shame

Well I can't remember my original post, I'll try to find it, but I am eating crow right now.

I doubted that they would bring all 4 of them with MP intact. I figured they'd pick one of the four to bring the MP, and the rest would just be the campaign. I also (pessimistically) doubted that the chosen title for MP would be H2.

I AM SO GLAD I WAS WRONG!!!

I sense a lot of days in H2's MP ahead of me. Although I gotta say it might be a bit of mud in the eye if H2/H3's MP numbers maintain higher lifetime averages (just on the re-release version, not counting the original MP numbers during their launches on OG/360) than Reach/H4....

Also, they're bringing back ARENA combat for H5? Consider me excited, although the mention of 'spartan abilities' (armor abilities?) making a return tempers that excitement greatly.

They don't need to be next gen dude. It's a remake of a game that came out 10 years ago. If all they look like is late-360 era aka Reach/H4 (hell even H3), who cares.

The most important thing is being able to play real Halo (aka Halo 2 and to a lesser extent Halo 3) in 1080p/60fps with dedicated servers. Everything else is icing on the proverbial cake.

This is the most insane value per dollar for a $60 release ever not counting MMORPGs that you sink thousands of hours into. Although I can see myself sinking thousands of hours into this too. Well, at least one thousand anyway.

lol this is already number 1 on amazon. If they do a 399 bundle with the kinectless xb1, which they def. will, this will move a lot of units come christmas.

The fact that that the MC Collection allows seamless transitions between different Halo games in multi blows my mind. H:CE, on console, with officially supported online multiplayer was something I never thought I'd see. Little else I could hope for except a PC version
.

No, armor abilities are gone in Halo 5. Confirmed by Frankie. Spartan abilities are just things like e.g. dual-wielding or boarding in Halo 2 (so: new movement-based game features for Halo 5 multiplayer).

Also, I want to point out a post I wrote a few weeks ago. I still think I wasn't that far off.

Maybe the details I wrote about weren't right - but I think something like this in its core is the route 343 will go. Especially if you keep in mind what ntknrl said:

Halo 5 beta is going to be fun... should run throughout December, 6-8 maps, 2 arena maps, 2 forge maps.

BTW, the maps are going to be huge.

Man. I will be honest. I would pay 60 bucks to replay all of those 4 campaigns! That's not even including multiplayer. I didn't realize how big of a Halo fan I was until today. :/ I will purchase a Xbox One for this.
