I just got my Xbox One yesterday since I preordered the Kinectless one. The disc based games install to the HDD like the PS4 right? If so the data could be compressed on the disc and be over 50 GB.

Don't forget it has the web series as well which will probably be 1080p meaning a few gigs for that depending how long it is and how many episodes it is.

As someone who was certainly not "lower skilled", I want them to remove the glitches as well. Keeping superbouncing would be insane (even if in some cases it might be slightly harder to pull off), and the justification of "preserving the experience" is stupid.

Bungie would have patched it if they were in a position to do so because they recognised the detrimental effect it has on regular gameplay. Actually having the ability to patch it and choosing not to do so is foolish, since you're prioritising niche gameplay (people who want to fuck around) over normal play.

I don't think the highly skilled players want things to be kept identical because they know how broken the game is in places.

It'll be fine. Matchmaking was had some issues, but usually if someone pulled off a glitch you were losing anyways. Glitches don't help in competitive play.
And for clarification BxR et al. aren't glitches.

Hey, is it confirmed that Halo 2 Anniversary will only come in English to Spain? Really? After what happened with the original? It doesn't make any sense, I would even be up for the original dubbing rather than letting it be the only Halo version that does not come in spanish.

I mean, it's not like English is an issue to me, but c'mon... that's such a letdown, it was a GOLDEN opportunity. Could you please give us the ability to choose, including the original dub as a menu option? There's plenty of room within a Blu-Ray for that. Please.

Not really. The most prominent glitches (BXR, BXB) actually added depth and skill to the melee combat and were embraced by the pro circuit. Superbounces were an issue, but they were very explicitly banned in the pro circuit and weren't an issue.

Somehow I doubt you're in a position to speak for all pro players, and even if you were, those are not the only skilled Halo players out there.

I consider myself a good player (dig out my stats and game history, particularly H3 Team Slayer if anyone cares). I fail to see how my opinion is somehow invalid, particularly when I'm giving a reason for it.

And the key word with superbouncing is "could". Not definitely fixed, and nothing in Frank's comments suggested any desire to look deeply at the Havok problem responsible to make sure it is fixed.

Yeah 3D would be really great.

Hopefully IQ is high for these, no reason all 4 titles shouldn't have some nice AA and AF to go along with the 1080p resolution. The IQ for that ascension map didn't look so Hott, but there is plenty of time.

Bungie had a major disconnect with a lot of the community and how the game was actually played.

They stubbornly insisted for years that the SMG was an appropriate and balanced starting weapon on all maps (it wasn't). They claimed they were prepared for modding on disc maps and had it covered (they didn't). They insisted that modding and standbying were rare and not major issues (they were). The claimed the ranking system was unfair and that Halo 3's system was an improvement (it wasn't). And, as anyone who played against them online will testify, none of them were particularly good at their own game.

So let's not act like some snarky quip, more specifically a snarky quip added to the game just a few months before original Xbox Live support was pulled, is infallible.

MLG was quite clearly the defacto pro circuit for Halo 2, as indicated by the pro players, the televised events, massive turnouts, and million dollar plus prizes and sponsorship deals - all of these things specially for Halo 2. CPL might have been bigger overall, but its primary focus was not Halo 2, and Halo 2's pro circuit focus was not it. Search Google for "Halo 2 Pro Circuit" and every single result on the first page is MLG-related.

You'll notice how CAL/CPL became irrelevant for Halo around the time MLG became big. The button combos simply add to the skill depth in a game that doesn't have much. They should stay, they were a huge part of the game.

ELO is provably broken. The sport it was originally invented for no longer uses it. ELO was made to be quickly calculable on pen and paper by humans, but has many issues related to making it easily calculable like that. There's no reason to use a simple broken system when you have servers available that can crunch super complex math in seconds, considering many more parameters.

For example, in ELO, you can actually be punished for winning a game, rank-wise. You can literally enter a game and every option you have (leave, lose, win) will derank you. How is a ranking system like that fair?

And, as anyone who played against them online will testify, none of them were particularly good at their own game.

So you played against a small tiny fraction of players at Bungie, which proves nobody at Bungie was good at Halo?

I don't mean to be rude (and I don't believe I was) but I'm not basing my point on relative opinion about skill like yourself. H3 TS means next to nothing to players that have a depth of knowledge of competitive Halo, and my reference isn't just friends I thought were skilled. That's fine that you do personally, but ironic that you then say I'm speaking for an unaccounted party and then suppose yourself in that same light with the TS comment.

Who cares man, it definitely wasn't as prevalence as you make it out to be, you're conflating it like some others are. Competitive Halo did not have to deal with it hardly anywhere, so to state it's a problem for serious players when your reference is BTB and TS instances and the maps found there that were no where to be found in competitive settings... it's tenuous at best.
