I was pretty hopeful just before the Naughty Dog logo appeared. With the 'it's dead' and then it's in 'development' rebuttal I was at least hoping for a logo and something to publicly say it's still alive. 30 seconds would be all that was needed.
It would have given a lead in to something bigger at TGS. A little memory jog for the fans awaiting something. A little sign.
It lowers the chance of seeing anything at TGS. If we get a tease then, then it will be 2015 before we get a trailer. That's too long.
Despite the Sony comments I don't believe I will ever get to play this game. Game ideas have turned out to not just work and not be fun and compelling in the past and I think this is another case.
They built something and it just wasn't a game that anyone would want to play. Atmosphere and story and world building can do a hell of a lot but if the mechanics are boring or dull then it's not worth doing.
