Fuck you Sony. You know there's a million people out there waiting to see a glimpse of this game. They've been asking you for years. Literally fucking years. You deny it's not cancelled, it's not on hiatus, that it's full development. Sure you can muster up a few seconds of footage. Something. Anything.

But instead you take 20 minutes talking about some shitty cartoon show on PSN? Fuck you Sony. Fuck you.

I guess i'm more bitter than expected because i also hated the rest of the conference, but we all knew it, deep inside of us, that it wasn't gonna show up.

I would like to say that the dream is over, that they lost me, because that's how i feel now, but i also know that next year some asshole at Sony will be saying how the game is "coming up great", how he has "just seen it not one week ago", and we'll all start the circlejerk again, just to be disappointed for the nth time.

They say it's in full development. That's pretty specific. Last Guardian seems to be Sony's FFXV. THey got into trouble with the PS3 hardware and from a larger POV SCE Japan was just mismanaged. After being delayed enough and maybe when it didn't seem like PS3 would ever be enough for Last Guardian, they switched to PS4. I've gotten the impression that Last Guardian ihas probably been SCE Japan Studios' biggest priority after Puppeteer & Knack were released last year, much like FFXV is for SQEX Japan now that the PS3 generation is behind them, and it'll hopefully that means they'll get it out quickly. If it doesn't appear at TGS at latest, that's the point when I'd start to worry if the game isn't still in some serious levels of development hell.

Although I don't feel as strongly about it as some of you, I just don't understand Sony's strategy with this game. Surely after 7 years of development they must have something more than what they revealed 5 years ago?
 
In the last 18 months I've purchased 5 games.

I've easily spent more the amount of time rewatching old trailers of TLG and FFXV and time on NeoGAF talking about them then I have invested in those games.

What is going on?

Since the switch to PS4 and the latest wordings, I've always expected it to be a 2015 title and in my book they could wait until E3 next year to reveal the game.
 
Gentleman after careful deliberation I hereby announce temporary retirement from TLGSG and Cult of Versus.

I still believe, but require an extended break before I lose my mind. Also I should play some actual games. Somethig I haven't done for 3 months now.

Do not fear. Both will come, but for now we must slumber and awaken when the sun rises east towards feathers and pea soup.

We will awaken on that day! BELIEVE!
 
It's a gonna isn't it. Surely there would have been a recent trailer, even cg to show it is alive and build hype. Sony's statement may just have been one of cancelling negativity pre E3
 
After the IGN ruckus, surprised they didn't have at least a small teaser to show it still exists.

Assume, the best place it will be shown now will be the Tokyo game show.

The game will be stunning when released. And a lot of people will be very mad they left the church, because they WILL NOT BE WELCOMED BACK.

I'm trying to imagine something like this situation happening to other things I'm anticipating right now.

Interstellar has had a trailer released already, imagine it's 2019 and the movie isn't released and we still haven't got a clue if it will ever release... with Warner Bros. promising that it's still being worked on.

The video game industry is crazy.

Oh well, I guess that's that for another 12 months, if ever. Still E3 isn't over and there's still time for the big Shenmue III reveal at the Sega booth.......right?

Honestly, TLG is a complete trainwreck and handled as such by Sony. It should have been one of PS3's showpieces but Sony completely screwed up big time.

I think the more worrying thing is why has the game been in development for so long? Something must have went wrong with it
 
I was so excited when the final game was about to start. I was convinced it was TLG so was gutted when the ND logo came up.

Think this is firmly dead for now. I'll pop it in a neat little pile with BGAE2 and Half-Life 3 for now.

This thread is more depressing than the people that think Shenmue 3 is coming back. its okay TLG fans, hang in there, i'm sure you guys will forget about this game in 2 years.

I didn't really expect it to be shown at E3 and thought it was probably dead before it, I think this just about confirms it for me though.
 
I've already said that I just act like the game never existed, so I can avoid disappointment, but the Gamespot stream had me fooled. Those guys leading up to the conference were saying they were nearly positive that it would be shown. Shows what they know I guess.
 
When they talked about one more game and i saw "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" i seriously thought to the Last Guardian

Don't lose the hope, the game will eventually come out

How so? They have thrown enough money at it. It isn't their fault they have shit to show for it.

I think a lot of people were thinking the same.

It was pretty upsetting.. I think a lot of us were clinging to some hope that there might be a small teaser right at the end of the conference.
