Liveblog thread for 3DS new Nintendo IP announcement (Code Name STEAM)

For all intents and purposes, tomorrow is the 3rd day of E3. They should have put out hints/nods to each day akin to the three days in Majora's Mask.

Majora's Mask has been teased way too heavily for it to be nothing. But then I'm surprised they're saving it for tomorrow and held it back from the direct.

I mean, yeah, it's definitely not DQ7 since that's not a new game by any stretch. But surely you could understand if one called MM3D a new game? It's a new product, new release, new announcement.

they can always just say fuck it and announce both Majoras and Metroid

its there announcement they can change the rules if they feel like it

or announce MM on Treehouse

Best case scenario for me personally would be Majora's Mask 3D.

I would be perfectly happy with any of the other possibilities, Metroid, Advance Wars, or DQVII.

It's a remake of a PlayStation game, hell, Nintendo-only console owners never had the chance to play this.

Majora's Mask is a remake of a Nintendo 64 game. They're both remakes.

-Majora's Mask OST was a Platinum Club Nintendo reward last year

By the way..

it looks like Fossil Fighter Frontier is coming to the North America from Nintendo. That's technically unannounced? Although it's definitely not a round table worthy game.
 
The only problem with Majora's Mask 3D might be that I don't know how they could spend 90 minutes talking about it... unless they wanted to open it up to discussions about the Wii U game or Nintendo games in general.

Really though, I'd be surprised to see three Zelda's on 3DS already, not to mention Hyrule Warriors coming on Wii U this year. I'm going with Metroid or a new IP.

Maybe it's both. They could be doing a remake, as well as a sequel together (or a sequel that comes with the original on the cart).

That would surely be awesome. That could explain a 90 minute round table?
 
Some thoughts:
1. This Nintendo e3 has been incredible and keeps on giving.
2. It might be Zelda: MM and they held it back because the Digital Event was already very Zelda heavy.
3. The 3DS appears to have had its glory days already. We need something big.
4. It could well be Metroid, and that's more likely for a seperate event.
5. 90 minutes would be too much for Metroid or Zelda, but it could be supplemented with other 3DS / eShop trailers.
6. It could be NFC / QWOL related software for the 3DS. This would explain both the length of time needed to explain it, and why they left it out of the Digital Event (hard to explain, takes time, gamers don't want to hear about it)

My guess? Metroid and other trailers.
 
If they announce MM3D, they better have everything quiet down and silence.. And then you hear the bells ring.

Oh lordy. I'm hoping for Dragon Quest VII. Either that or that Monolithsoft 3DS game that they were hiring for ages ago.
 
Just had a thought, what if it's a NFC game and 90mins to show it off with the NFC adaptor that was shown in an investor meeting? What then?
