Yep just did it myself in preparation for my PS4 arriving today. Bought the PS3 CE, installed it, logged in, and linked it to my FFXIV content ID. Then on a web browser I went to the Mog Station site and clicked the banner to upgrade PS3 to PS4. Completed that process, got the PS Store download code for the PS4 client, and redeemed it on the Sony PSN store in a browser. All good.
Can't wait to put this on remote play!
Will wait for the inevitable expanded version. I'm done supporting vanilla hunting games at launch.
Ugh, I was excited for Vita TV (ok fine, PS TV) until I realized the damn thing uses Vita memory cards. Now I wish I hadn't sold back all my extra 8, 16 and 32 GB cards, even an 8 GB would've been fine, I doubt there are many vita games I would rather play on my TV versus the vita. Mostly going to use it so that I can play PS4 games in the living room and my bedroom without moving the PS4 I guess. That said, this does bring me slight tiny hope for future vita memory card announcements, since this new device uses the same ones. But as has been the sentiment in this thread the past few days, I don't have any high hopes at all.

I was trying to think of a hunting game that didn't do that... There isn't any on Vita. Toukiden Extreme, Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Soul Sacrifice Delta, now we need GE2B.

Well, definitely going to get FF XIV now. Kind of confused about CE vs regular edition though. It looks like CE offers a bunch of ingame stuff like a helm, mount, and vanity pets. Is there anything exceptionally good or useful to warrant the CE, like the helm being the best item for a while or the mount letting you go faster earlier? Hard to find a good comparison since searching for CE shows me info on the physical CE half the time.

so 3DS gets a new FF game and we don't have a new FF game, heck, we can't even have a port or PSP Type-0.

To be fair, Vita technically got its first FF game before the 3DS did.

Good to see it in action. But oh man, that dude playing it. Why did he not show touchscreen use? Now I'm worried that it doesn't have any!
Also LOL at when it gets to the invisible wall and the message "You cannot leave this area until you complete the tutorial". Then he goes and punches a few cows and pigs, tries to leave area again. Dude, that wasn't the tutorial.

Yeah, I'm" kind of leaning towards this too. I freaking love Musou games for instance but I'm" probably going to just start buying the expanded versions from now on. On the same token, Freedom Wars is one of my most anticipated games so I may have to make an exception (also hope TK localizes Toukiden Extreme and Namco brings over God Eater 2). The market these days are so unpredictable so you never know if companies will release an expanded edition or not.
EDIT:
As far as PSTV goes, it more or less put a nail in the coffin for Vita support because it literally gives no incentives to develop Playstation Vita games.
FFX HD is the best game SE released in the last generation.but i want more, not just HD remaster
Playing through it right now. Amazing game. Made me love Final Fantasy again.

Aren't these values outdated though?
By the end of 2014 is more realistic. Even the most prolific JP vita developers aren't interested anymore (Tecmo Koei not launching Musou Empires and DBZ Xenoverse skipping vita as well).
I just don't sell my vita right now because of my backlog.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy came first, didn't it? There is "Final Fantasy" on the title.

My personal feeling is that Vita support in Japan will last as long as Playstation 3 support; basically PS3/Vita cross releases complimented with niche games for the most part. When PS3 support dries up we "might" see some of those developers go to PS Vita but even that is real stretch.
Sounds really nice.
Stupid question but do these games normally have region-locked Multiplayer or can EU-Gaffers play with US-Gaffers?
It doesn't include the numbers posted an hour ago but no, those are the current hardware sales in Japan. They are from famitsu.

JP PS vita support will survive when those developers move on from the PS3, because no way are they moving onto the PS4 which is in an even worse position.

Not cancelled... But turned into an uninspired free-to-play game. It'd be better if it was cancelled altogether.
Up until now, we always were able to play with anyone in the world, but sometimes you must change your settings from local servers to global (like Dragon's Crown or Toukiden).

I liked how Sony made a point to spend 30 seconds talking about Vita being a Remote Play machine, then just sorta said "oh yeah, and there's like 100 games being made for this too, honest"
