PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

My stance on the whole Type-0 chaos that happened today (alongside Sony's lackluster Vita showing at their conference yesterday) is that....does it really matter at this point?

I love my Vita and it has by far the most playtime AND games compared to my PS3 and Wii.....and I just stopped caring about what Sony does for the system. There are still great Japanese games coming from Namco, Altus and others, great indie games still landing on the system and the games Sony did make for the system are very solid (loved playing through Tearaway last year and have to commend Sanzaru for the excellent port of the Sly Collection on Vita :D).

Does this Type-0 announcement suck? It really, REALLY does (made all the more better when Square kicked out teeth saying it was coming to Vita...THEN changing that to not coming to Vita at all), but we all know this by now; Square Enix is a shit company now and outside of its Edios games, they are just getting by (though Bravely Default, Thyryithem and KH 1.5/2.5 look awesome :D). And besides, if we really want to play Type-0 that badly, we can thank the fans who put all their time and effort on the translation that came out recently, so we don't have to give Square any money at all for there really messed up move.

As for Sony's treatment of the Vita....it is expected at this point; SCEA gives too shits about the Vita but SCEE and SCEJ do care about the Vita and are supporting it with many indie games and some really great Japanese ones :). It does sting that they didn't do much for the system at E3, but they did the same last year (and at least we are getting the Vita TV in the West this fall :D).

I love the Vita and I hope it lasts a long time, but we can't expect big companies to support the system....they don't see it as successful sadly :(.

Completely agreed with you about Sony lack of support for Vita. However from what I heard so far from FF typo thread, according to Kagari, Sony did try to get FF typo on Vita, but it was the Square Enix's side that is "stubborn".

Well, let's keep the push going. #jrpg. Square Enix has showed before they aren't COMPLETELY deaf (see: world's reaction to Bravely Default).

Edit: #jrpgvita... GAH fail!...

But didn't Nintendo more or less drag the game to the states? I think they published Bravely Default in US, so I guess if this gets larger news, maybe Sony and its 3rd Party Team can get to work on bring Type-0 to Vita.

They could even work with the translation team who did the fan translation (kinda like what Sega did with the Sonic CD remaster, getting a guy who did past work with Sonic Fan Games/Rom Hacks to make that), to ensure that it really does happen :).

Because Sony has already stopped listening.

SCEA.
But they NEVER listened in the first place.

good lord, sony is a bunch of asshats & yes, shahid needs to go and he's a massive clown but holy shit the comments

people have been wanting type-0 to come to the west for a very long time.

you should be all thankful that it's coming to the west regardless of platform choice.

if you guys truly love Final Fantasy, then you would play a GREAT game on any system they decide to put it on. Be it the Xbox One or your iPad

If you want to play it on the Vita so bad then buy it on the Japanese store

While Shahid's teasing of #JRPG and getting social media frothing for Type 0 is partly responsible for the aftermath here, he is most likely in no way responsible for Sony/SE's decisions to publish Type 0 only on the PS4, Xbone.

And you know that bullshit doesn't work since the memory card association business was patched in.

This isn't a practical solution for the majority of people and you know it.

Besides the obvious language issue there's also the issue with PSN account switching and memory cards.

Exactly.

I know, but if one wants to play Type-0 English so bad then they should get rid of their bitterness and buy it on the PS4 or Xbox One.

The game is coming to the west and that's all that fucking matters regardless of platform choice

Hmmm. I don't own either system. But I do own a Vita. They have provided me with no viable way to play the game. If they port it to PC, I might buy it, but you can damn well bet I'll be getting it from a RU trader for pennies on the dollar.

SCEA's lack of support. As others have said, SCEJ and SCEE (to some extent) actually support the platform.

What's this about Bravely Default?

If Nintendo had announced a new 3DS model at their event, I probably would have bought one. There are still a decent number of Vita games that I want to play in the near future, but I don't have much hope beyond that. I don't think there was a single Vita game announced last night that I was really interested in.

My hopes at this point is that Nintendo's next gen handheld really takes note of the Vita, even if it wasn't much of a competitor sales wise. The Vita got a lot of things right, the biggest problem is how Sony runs it.

The only way to keep the Vita alive is to have the fans support it. Keep fighting and they will probably bring Type-0 to it. Selling your Vita and not caring is exactly the childish response that they need to kill the system. Let your money talk.

SCEJA will probably be slowly dropping their support for PS Vita because of how the games are bombing in the west.

Gravity Rush 2 on PS4? Not far from it.

People say let your money talk like, but game sales haven't been that bad when looking at multiplats with 3DS. It's also very known that the attach rate with the Vita is high. I'd say fans are doing their part, it's Yoshida that isn't.

Slowly?

But what next for the studio, after its trio of Vita games is released? Becker reveals that despite its focus on handheld right now most of the studio is busy working on PlayStation 4, although he wouldn’t be drawn on anything more specific than “we have an exciting line up of new, long awaited and innovative titles currently in development for PS4.”

This E3 just sunk my Vita in tears.

If GR 2 is PS4 only i will buy no more games on this machine.I Promise.I dont mind if the game is on both platforms but if this game is not on the Vita . Thats it.

So entering the Vita should be welcomed with "Abandon hope, all those who enter here".

I'm legit serious in migrating to a PC and Wii U future. If they port typ-0 to PC, I'll skip it until its bargain bin price / or buy it from a trader. I'll enter the Wii U platform for Xenoblade and Bayo 2. Yeah, the multiplats aren't there but I'll have a PC to enjoy them.

When Gran Turismo releases for the PS4, that MIGHT be the time I'll go back to the PS platforms. So see you guys in a few years?

Hey folks, all the E3 talk will probably drown this out, but still...

Has anyone bought/played Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate on Vita?

Would love to hear some impressions. As someone who owns both original games on PS3 I'm really tempted.

yeah its alright, its free on ps+ so you can't really go wrong

lilly being canceled in favor of some edgy f2p nonsense really irks me.

next gen so far me sucks (either that or I became more cynical and bitter the last few days)

Looks like this gen will be a repeat of 6th gen for me with a Nintendo (WiiU) being my main with a Sony (PS4) being relegated to a Final Fantasy & MGS machine

Don't forget about Kingdom Hearts and TLG! Also really dissapointed that Lilly was cancelled :(

Someone uploaded playstation post E3 show, which I guess is for the theater E3 crowd. Its got interviews by Geoff Keighley with devs like Naughty Dog, Hello Games and more. Its 30minutes and viewed from a slanted angle. It might get pulled down so be quick.
Its been a while since I've watched a CamRip LOL. Now watching it.
Lol I'm still waiting for Cardnialmind to add me :l

Added you just now. Haven't touched my Vita for 2 weeks now since I have been busy.

Awww even Lily Bergamo got cancelled. Was anticipating that title

Lily Bergamo cancelled and turned into gritty psycho crap, woo.

My PS4 launch purchase was not a good idea, and this E3 gets worse with each piece of news on something I'm interested in.

At least Palutena and Pac-Man are in Smash.

Wait, Let it Die is F2P? Ugh.

I wish I cared

There are zero ps4 games im interested in right now.

Unless from software is going to be a douchebag and not release bloodborne for the pc.

At this juncture, Bloodborne has less of a chance of hitting PC than Bayonetta 2 has of hitting any other platform.

Sony has nothing to do with the game not coming to Vita. It is not their game, and never was. Shahid clearly tried to talk to SE about a possible Vita version and that didn't work out. The fact that there is no vita version is entirely on Square. I know people are pissed, but lets attribute blame correctly.

Guys, I got Hot Shots Tennis on the sale and I'm trying to transfer it via PS3 but the game won't show up on the list.

I have to download it directly on my Vita? It's download speed has been awful lately, that's why I'm trying to do it via the PS3.

So I kinda wanna buy a Vita mostly to play Indies on the go... dumb move, good move?

I have a lot of indies on PC but I never play them since if I'm on my PC... chances are I'm playing something else. So I guess what I'm asking is if the Vita is a good platform in regards to indies (lots of releases, good sales, etc)?

I would get the Borderlands 2 bundle (even if I don't care much for that game) and pick up Persona 4 at the same time since everyone says it's so good. Guess I'd have to get PS+ too...

If you've been stocking up on Vita games for the past couple of via PS+ i'd say it's worth it.

more than any vita ad, click it

Join the Chicken Bacon Tomato?

I don't understand either of you :c

If anything Indies are the only thing you can count on going forward for the Vita. A lot of past and present indy games are already on Vita and recent kickstarters have begun incorporating Vita into their platform releases. It'd be a solid purchase for that alone in my opinion.

if you're getting it as an indie machine then it's a good investment, you'll likely fall in love with it. anyone who owns one does. the only problem is just not major first or 3rd party BIG titles support. But the indies are all over it.

So yeah...Demon Sacrifice.

I've put quite a few hours into this one and hmm.
It's alright.

The combat is pretty shallow(useless melee), and some of the archfiends are frustrating (Cerberus). I like the presentation/art-direction though.
Delta looks like a pretty substantial improvement. I'll probably grab it when it goes on sale.

I don't like The Last of Us. I played it for a few hours today and I'm just not too fond of it. I'll try more of it to see but it looks like I should have bought the Lego Hobbit bundle :(

http://youtu.be/Mzux79NWTV4

I took a long look at all the parts of the conference the Vita showed up in.

great thoughts.
With 3DS releases being soft outside of Smash Brothers this year they really could have taken a lot of those players and converted them to Vita owners.

Oh well. I'll be sure to wait longer before buying into Sony hardware in the future.

My guess is they are doing everything they can to force... *FORCE* Vita owners to buy a PS4 because they want the attach ratio and buying power of those users in the PS4 ecosystem. I could be wrong but it sure seems like they are killing it on purpose.

Come the fuck on.

"Let It Die" is what became of Lily Bergamo?

What kind of shit E3 is this?

It keeps getting worse. What's next? They'll be removing PS Vita remote play from PS4? You now can't control VitaTV via DualShock3 and DualShock4? Lightning is replacing Noctis on FF15?

P.S. Digimon Cybertruthsleuth is for 2015.

I'll hold you to this.

Sure.
