GAF, I played the demo some more. People dismissing this as eurojank or whatever are 100% wrong.

I've been waiting for a game like this for a decade. If the final game is as polished throughout and the combat system holds up, this might become one of my all time favorites. I love the chunky UI.
Larian is amazing at UI these days, I already noticed that with Dragon Commander.

Every time I see a Wasteland 2 screenshot showing its UI I wish they'd just outsource it to Larian. Even now after 3 iterations.

People talking about it being on GOG on the Larian forums seem pretty sure but I don't have a quote for you.

I know with the Kickstarter you have an option to get it delivered through Steam, GOG or Larian. I think I'll get it from Larian since it will be totally DRM free even though Steam is the most convenient for playing on different PCs.

Wow, I just lost all my respect for the unnamed mods. I'm serious. I thought they were cool.

Sounds reasonable!

So I'm not sure what Zeliard is talking about, but I do intend to get this game.

Zeliard was trashing Planescape: Torment a ton earlier though.

Now that's just playing dirty.

Nirolak defended charlequin calling the game eurojank. Pretty sure anyone would agree that's enough to crucify him.

Whew.

I knew it. His insightful posts about RPGs are just a clever ruse. He's probably playing Dragon Age 2 right now. On his 5th time through.

Maybe he's like this dude (from a great upcoming not-trashy-at-all redblooded American AAA RPG):

Picked up some Steam cards today while on my lunch break. Early access, here I come. I am very much looking forward to this one.

OK I admit I am one of those who dismissed the game as eurojank. So this is an actual solid, party based wrpg with tactical combat?

Do you create your character and recruit npcs? Full inventory management and interesting progression system?

Fuuuuuck man. This game looks amazing. Here I was all ready for Wasteland and Pillars, and all the while this beauty was being made. And all I have to do is wait 20 days haha.

Bought when I get home from work.

Congratulations!

Now you just need to tell 5 other people about it. Because really, this game's largest issue is awareness.

I wish I knew 5 other people who were into games like this. That would be so great.

I'll just do my posts about how amazing the game is and give the devs my money.

I really think Larian should contact "youtube personalities" like Angry Joe or Total Biscuit to show the game again, now that it's almost finished, it isn't the mainstream media but it would create some attention to the game.

And if those folks are on neogaf, then we'll have a total of 8 people here excited about the game.

Jokes aside, it's a little disheartening when I tell my friends about it and most them take one look at it and dismiss it as eurojank. No matter how many videos or OSTs I sling their way, the reaction is the same. At least one of my mates saw this thread and it was enough to convince him to buy it.

Oh, I got reminded this game exists now. I bought Dragon Commander but haven't gotten around to playing it. It should be time now that I upgraded to a desktop.

Will the price for the game be the same on release as it is now during early access?

As far as I know, yes.

Bought this on Steam a while ago but I've been waiting for it to leave early access before I try it. I was a huge fan of Divine Divinity, and Original Sin's on track to be a first-class rpg.

It looks absolutely stunning.

A small studio like Larian showing up at E3 is a waste of time. There are 10,000 voices all screaming for attention and unless you're one of the big boys being featured on stage nobody is going to notice you.

Douchebag. Yes, me.
I've been out of the loop for a while on this game.

Is there now a demo out? And if so, will progress in the demo carry over to the full release?

There is (and has been for quite a while) an early access release. However, saves will not be compatible with the final version.

Well, it also IS an Early Access game. It's possible that like Assetto Corsa they put that on sale and so you get a good number of sales even though it isn't even out until the sale ends.

Now something not in Early Access like, say, Trails in the Sky releasing that day, I'd be REALLY worried. Though either way this raises questions on if this is a factor in the delay.

They could always do what Metal Gear Revengeance did, it had it's big unveiling on steam in the middle of a sale and had a sale price, people bought it in droves.

That would badly screw over Kickstarter backers, wouldn't it? Something MGR:R didn't have.

Well on Kickstarter you could get a copy of the game for $25, they'll be selling it for $40, so they could do a $30 sale or even down to the same $25 they gave kickstarter backers without screwing anyone.

Assuming you're buying two copies, is there any reason to get this ahead of time if you're not planning on touching it until release day?

They could sell it for more than the KS price but less than the retail price. There's a bit of room there.

Oh, right. I was in a higher KS tier, so didn't remember the actual base price. Thought it was a regular retail price.

Anyway, I wouldn't lower the price, but rather give people some extras during that sale, like the OST, or a copy of Dragon Knight Saga or so.

Yeah, I backed at $25, so doing for a $30 sale may be a solid compromise. You were activley paying to play a game early for Steam Early Access, and those who did via Kickstarter were acting in good faith.

Their release of this game is terrible. I'm interested in the idea of this game, but I don't trust the developers to make a good game enough to spend $40 without a thorough demo, and all the preview material I've read has been pure fluff. Throwing the release right after the steam summer sale just makes the purchase an even worse value by comparison.
