Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

The idea of Sonic not being the fastest character in the game just seems so wrong to me. I mean just by dashing, not using a move or something.

Being fast and spinning are Sonic's thing.

Would have been great to have character with standard attacks as spammy and screen clearing as Pit's Final Smash though

Dude goes straight Megaman X in that mode. So much PEW PEW PEW. <3 <3 <3

The ultimate doubles partner with Megaman if Smash Balls were legal.

Dat (probably) Up-Tilt tho.

I'm pretty sure that it's one of Neutral B (for customization moveset)

Ironic enough, I started working on Palutena Move Set before everyone started to talking about it.

I'm pretty sure that Celestial Firework is down B because you can see her crouch before she activated the move.

I'm sure I got a few positions wrong. She announces 12 moves + her FS though. From what we've been told by Sakurai that means every other move shown is a regular A attack.

A random observation: coincidentally, each of the guest characters matches up to one of the hardware-based "WTF" characters.

Pac-Man vs. Mr. Game & Watch (1980)
Mega Man vs. R.O.B. (robots)
Sonic vs. Wii Fit Trainer (speed/agility)

I'm thinking this game should be abbreviated as SSB4 then, when not talking about specific a platform. I find myself having a hard time talking about this game because of its unusual name.

Squid Kids would take their move set from the game's various weapons. I wonder if there would be a paint mechanic though.

BTW, the competitive player who asked about playing Sakurai and if he won if he could help with the game was said in jest at the roundtable. The comp. player in question who said it was actually juice.Doom who is a Brawl commentator/player.

I asked the question to Sakurai after he acknowledged me in the audience with one of the invitational character placards (ZSS) and Toronto Joe who was next to me had already asked the major question we both wanted to know the answer to (what are his plans for the future of competitive Smash, to which he said that's mostly up to Nintendo). it was asked in good fun and he responded in the same way, then at the end I asked if we could play anyway. He said he'd think about it, which was funny and nice. The vibe was all positive and not rude at all, I did it to see how he'd respond and in a polite way. There's a vid somewhere.

He posted that somewhere (found it on r/smashbros where someone else posted it). It was all in good fun. The media/journalists seemed to make it sound like otherwise with their paraphrasing.

Not sure if that was already posted but if it was, I apologize lol.

Most people are already doing that. It's not really appropriate though, since Sakurai said he considers 3DS and WiiU to be separate iterations, and Namco tried to hire for a Smash 6 (which is probably post-launch DLC based on recent rumors). So one is 4, the other is 5. DLC is 6.

so after all that this was a Brawl player making a comment in jest
:lol all the mock outrage

Nope. 1:54 in the reveal trailer, before she starts announcing her Special attacks. This is either a C-Sticked Up-Smash or her Up-Tilt. Maaaybe her Side-Smash, but I really don't think so.

her side smash looks to be the one she did too link in the first few seconds of her gameplay

That's what people have been doing for the most part. (I added a minor correction to my post BTW)

Well, he's not one to make it easier for us.

Haha, in my optimism, I was hoping for post-launch DLC to be characters that would automatically be in the Wii U version, to keep that hype.

It's official. First real men use items and now C Stickers should go home. You were all ultra told Smash tournies!

So I wonder how Kirby's copy powers work if someone is using a custom special? Or if Kirby swallows Palutena or a Mii? Do you think he always copies the main b move regardless of variation or will it change if the character is using a custom move?

I think the only question left on any true Smash fans mind is whether the G.O.A.T is back or not... Because this is the one and only gamechanger of Smash
