PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

I took Persona 4: DAN as some kind of Capcom Resident Evil Wii nonsense. The userbase bought a load of copies of a port but only got some cheapo spinoffs while everyone else saw the real deal.

The reason we're not seeing any of it is probably because of Dingo. Which reminds me that I was supposed to make a post about it.

Oh fucking god. Seeing the latest footage on Love Live School Idol Paradise.

This is me when it was announced and Dingo was the developer.

This is me when I saw that shit on the Love Live stream last week.
/shamelessly stolen from the School Idol Fest thread.

I'm not a graphics nut that complains about ground texture, or go about shouting "N64 GRAPEIXXXXX!!!" or even "OMG IT RUNS AT 30 FPS #dead"...

But this is too sad.

I was looking forward to Love Live school idol paradise, because at least their songs (and choreo, LOL) were better than the shit that IDOLM@STER generally puts out.
Yes, I said it. Come at me, IM@S fans.

Maybe the reason we haven't seen P4AND (Persona 4 All-Night Dancing) is because Dingo probably fucked up and ended with modeling worse than Pong or something. All we've seen until now are pre-rendered CGI stuff.

It would have actually been better to go with pre-rendered CG like IDOLM@STER Shiny Festa.

I would not be surprised if this is the reason why SEGA dumped them. And with the quality of Project Diva f series, it may have been the right decision.

I don't have time to edit, but in case anyone's wondering what Chihaya's saying, it's "boobs".

In Love Live, you have a reference of quality since the PVs they release have some 3D rendered stuff in them.

Not only did Dingo effing miss the Love Live second season, but this kind of quality is just not good enough for a product that requires eyecandy. In fact, it looks worse than their initial release last year, but then that preview was small so it might have always been this bad. :/

So if Freedom Wars is $29.99 to start with, does that mean it will be 26.99 for PSN release?

Is there a NA release date? Are we getting the demo?

I guess so, unless it's only $30 during pre-orders and Sony increases the price for $40 after the release, which means the DD release would be $36. No release date for NA yet and no news on the demo either.

You played the demo or whatever?
What'd you think? Would I like it based on my love of SS?

I would say yes.

The whip is simply wonderful and changes up the gameplay a lot, It makes me wish the maps were bigger. The maps are a bit bigger than soul sacrifice and has alleys and gates. The weapons are fast and switching to your gun is smooth. Only negative thing I might say is the two monsters in the demo didn't have any cool attacks like soul sacrifice.

Also character creation is great reminds me of how deep dragon dogma was.

i hope vitagaf supports the true team of the world cup tonight
I like this thread with its posts - one about some Japanese game I've never heard about, then about world cup, and then back to the Japanese stuff :D Also, congrats on the win from Bosnia :P But you have to admit that it was close (let's forget about that auto-goal from the 3rd minute >.>). Messi's goal was amazing tho.
Disclaimer: I hate football, and I'm not a big fan of Bosnian team, but hey, it's our first world cup, and hype is through the roof here :D

And now back on topic while quoting myself from couple of pages back, since no one said anything about it:
By the way, anyone else noticed that PS4 now has notifications for blocking share functions when you hit some spoilerific parts of games? I noticed it in MGS V: Ground Zeroes, and it's annoying - when final cut-scene starts (or when those post-credit sequences start after side missions), there's a big-ass notification in the upper right corner telling you that you can't record gameplay during those parts. And it seems you can't turn that notification off :(

I prefered their earlier approach - no notifications until you press the Share button during those "blocked" parts.
Anyone from Sony watching this thread? Any chance of getting the option to disable those notifications? Does it bother anyone else, or is it just me? I wouldn't want to play MGS V: The Phantom Pain and constantly look at those notifications >.>

I have a question...

I own MGS Ground Zeroes physical copy. I just double dipped to own the digital copy while it was on sale. It wont let me download it because it already exists on the HDD but it also wont let me boot it because the data is for the disc copy.

Do i need to delete the current data and redownload the actual digital version to get it to work? Doing so isnt going to kill my save file, is it?

Sigh just noticed that WRC4 is only on the EU PSN. Fuck, and I just got hyped to play it after seeing some videos. And MotoGP too.
Physical isn't an option to me because nobody is selling those games here, and importing would could me a lot.

you can look for retail releases instead,i believe both of them have those

What's the likelihood of Sony issuing a refund for a mistaken purchase? Accidentally bought DLC for the PS3 version of Ghosts when I meant to grab the PS4 version.

Not sure, but you got to try. I'd hope they'd be understanding of a story like this considering you're not trying to take back your purchase, but actually make the purchase on the right platform.

Yeah, I spoke to a rep through the live chat and they said they need to make a case and have someone review it. I'll find out in seven days.

You're more likely to see a new Hot Shots game announced in Famitsu or at TGS than E3.

ClapHanz hasn't been really up to much since 2011. They shipped the PS3 port of the Vita game and some DLC, but that's not major stuff.

Hey guys, what's the verdict on the Resident Evil Director's Cut on PSN?

I played (and thoroughly loved) both RE2&3 on my Vita, and now I want to play the one that started it all.

But....from what I've heard, the music in this version is terribad. The music in RE2 and 3 were pretty integral to the atmosphere, and I'm not sure I can stomach a whole game of fart music.

Is it worth playing this version at all? Or should I hold out/find some other way of playing the game?

Maybe not development-wise, but didn't the PS3 port sell over 100k in Japan?

The directors probably were going for an overall tense and suspenseful fart music mood...

Who are we to judge their fartistic vision?

So just started P4G

i do not like that they made boss weaknesses trial and error, what kind of bullshit is that.

also: is there any reason to play on hard?

I have to say something to everybody here: I'm playing Mind Zero and I'm actually enjoying it. I think it's because I love DRPGs, or else I'd hate the game, but it's pretty fun game and I like the "Burst" system. I haven't finished the game and reached "that ending", but so far, I feel like it was worth the money for me.

Edit: Top of the page... Buy Mind Zero if you like DRPGs, but only if you already have Demon Gaze.

I love Demon Gaze, and DRPG's in general. All I've heard is terrible things about Mind Zero.
I'm torn because I really want to like it and get it.

How far into the game are you?

I would say yes.

As someone that loves Monster Hunter, Soul Sacrifice and will probably love Toukiden (extreme), the one hunting game I couldn't get into was God Eater and the demo for Freedom Wars really feels like God Eater..

Character creator felt limited to me, another game where I get to choose between the best 1 or 2 face options I like which are the same ones everyone else will pick, and settling on the hairstyle I dislike the least of the lacking options. No RBG/sliders for hair color and the shades are all too dark (unless I missed it?) No closed eye option (to my dismay. They're closed, it's not like that's hard to add).

I'm pretty sure the option to enable/disable that notification has been there since launch. Go to the Share menu -> Options -> Video Clip Settings -> Display Icons for Blocked Scenes.

Hahaha. Hopefully it doesn't get a third rate localization like Tales of Hearts R.

I was expecting something at E3 like a release date, a demo, screenshot from the English version. Guess it was too hard to do so.

I think Tales of Hearts R's localization is partly because it wasn't going to come here originally to begin with.. .but who knows x_x Some odd decisions though... if they're doing an 'undub' why localize the script? Dub DLC?

And OreShika is probably coming in early 2015 or something. Or at the earliest, Fall/"Winter" 2014.

:( @ the 'terrible things' said about Mind Zero. I feel like most people who said those things probably didn't play it... and while it's not groundbreaking or anything, if you don't expect Persona and have fairly reasonable expectations, you should enjoy it.

Sorry, maybe I'm just in a bad mood, but the last couple of weeks have been garbage. Not even worth my time.

I think everyone wanted to avoid E3, so it's been not-very-interesting.

Ok. I just wanted to know if it was a temporary thing. E3 weeks have been quite bad release wise :(

it all started with the Vita.
maybe we should buy the XB1 next /s

Noo! Ouya is next!

Most likely 2015. It's not on the E3 showfloor.

Is Hearts still 2014, right?

No problem there. I'd play Xillia 2 and Hearts in the second half of 2014. Persona 5 and Oreshika in the first half of 2015.

Considering how long JRPGs are that's not a bad personal line-up
