Lebron James' NBA Finals record is now 2-3, fails to 3-peat this year

Heat is a good team and Bron is a great player. I don't think he has the leadership skills and killer instinct Jordan has yet but he played and incredible team seeking redemption and basically did it alone cause his team was nowhere to be found.

I'm not a lebron/Heat fan but he has a lot more rings to collect before his time is through.

Are we really counting his first Finals lost when he carried a team full of no names to face the Spurs?

That's just not fair. Ding him for the Dallas and San Antonio loses in Miami.

This most recent lost was due to him not having an adequate team behind him. Dude can only do so much.

Yeah, man. Luc Longley and Ron Harper were perennial all-stars... lol.

Lebron teamed up with 3 future hall of famers and he still averaged 4 pts in the 4th quarter for this finals. Deal with it.

Also, the 91 finals happened before Magic was diagnosed.
Lol at that 4th quarter stat. There's a reason for that. C'mon man

Jordan didn't win anything until Isiah and the Pistons declined. The Laker team Jordan beat had no Kareem, Rambis, Pat Riley and Magic was old/post HIV. Jordan didn't win anything until he had Scottie Pippen and arguably the GOAT coach, Phil Jackson. Meanwhile Lebron has Erik fucking Spoelstra, a Dwyane Wade with degenerative knees, 38 year old 3 point specialist(Ray Allen), a Chris Bosh who wants to be a perimeter player, Rashard Lewis, Mario "25%" Chalmers, Shane Battier who's at retirements door, etc.

Jordan's Bulls were way more stacked than any team Lebron has played on.

What were you saying when the Heat won back-to-back rings?

Now all of a sudden MJ's team was stacked, while LeBron carries a team full of scrubs even though they won back-to-back chips?

Ok.

They had a pep rally 4 years ago and LeBron cracked a joke about winning 5, 6 or maybe even 7 titles. Clearly that is unforgivable.

Jordan would have gone for 50+ last night and willed them to victory. Jordan was huge in big games....always that I remember. Maybe prior to when he started winning championships he was hit or miss but after his 1st ring he never didn't come up HUGE.

Like some said Jordan has better killer instinct, im starting to think Lebron being a more\better complete player and not a pure scoring machine SOMETIMES works to his detriment as you still rely on other to finish. When Jordan would just do it.

(Knicks fan here, I hate bulls, heat and pacers plenty....I feel objective enough)

Lebron is an all time great player. I don't know how anyone is doubting that.

Is he Michael Jordan? No.

For one they are two different type of players. Jordan was the epitome of a shooting guard. An attacker that distributed when it was opportune but not his first instinct. James is a Magic Johnson type player, a point forward. A guy who works best when he has teammates that can he can get going and feed off of. A guy much more comfortable going 30-10-10 then going 45-5-5.

But let's not discount the fact that Jordan also was one of the luckiest SOB's to be drafted by such a quality organization in a desirable city. To work with possibly the greatest coach of all time and some of the best supporting casts for a superstar in his era.

There wasn't much Lebron could of done last night. He could of scored 60 on 60% shooting and it likely wouldn't have made a lick of difference because the rest of the team couldn't do anything and couldn't stop the spurs. Give this spurs team some credit, they are one of the most proficient teams the league has seen in some time.

This is a little bit of hyperbole. Jordan had huge games, but his team was also really good. Like you look at the Spurs and say "wow that team is great". Well the Bulls were like that only they also had Jordan.

My problem with Lebron is that offensively he doesn't have the ability to get his points whenever he wants. Jordan had a fade-away that was automatic.

That being said. Heat loss had nothing to do with Lebron

I wouldn't go that far. Studs need to be held accountable for their ability to lead a team as well. Can you imagine Jordan letting his team play like such shit? Miss so many defensive rotations? Never. In an elimination game... in the finals... LBJ had 14 points over the last 3 quarters. That's unreal.

He deserves blame bc they lost.

But I mean- he can't play defense for everyone else? How do you "not let" your team play bad?

Also the reason we still have a Jordan legacy is because no matter how hyped he became, he always over-delivered on the hype.

Not many athletes have done that, so 15 years later we are still holding Jordan up on that pedestal.

That's why I will always say that there could be better players than Jordan(though unlikely) but they will never be able to beat his "story". Outside of the Wizards nonsense, he ended his career with a finals winning jumper. How is anyone going to beat that.

When you see someone fuck up, get in their face? Say something? Don't just passively watch your team shit the bed?

Mind you, I place most of the blame on Spo, the disappearing DWade and Bosh still thinking he needs to shoot 3s. I said all along that f'ing Beasley should have gotten some run, if only to see what he could do.

Beasley? Lol nah

I dunno I'm of the mind that these are grown ass dudes. They know what they have to do. Lebron getting in their face won't translate into energy that isn't there or play that they aren't physically capable of.

I mean it as the Spurs are a better team than the Heat. Lebron did his part. Letting your team play like shit is tough. It takes two, Jordan teammates responded to him, maybe Lebron's don't or he doesn't motivate them like Jordan did. This I don't know. Cant overlook Jordan saying "Fuck it, I do it myself, Fade away jumper all day"

You guys posting all these excuses about how and why Jordan won blah blah should be embarrassed because they're cringeworthy.

Take dat bullshit salt somewhere else

Jordan is a fluke in the matrix there will never be another him ever and the only thing that comes close is Kobe. And let's face facts the NBA wouldn't be what it is today without Jordan.

Next thing someone is gonna say is wilt isn't one of the greatest or Bill Russell's championships don't count because they played against white guys.

You're saying these guys don't need leadership because they are grown men? Alright then.

No...in case you didn't notice, the point of this thread is to diminish his legacy. Facts are not really allowed here.

The fact that he parked himself on the bench with 7 minutes left is pretty pathetic. Being down 18 with 7 minutes to go isn't such an astronomical thing to come back from in the NBA.

I think Spo put him there. Pretty sure LBJ didn't do it himself.

dafuq are you talking about?

Opinion hasn't changed about him. When it's all said and done he will be a Top 5 player of all time, even if he goes to the finals again and loses.

dafuq are you talking about?

Is it too hard to follow that he was responding to posts like OriginalNameGuy? Or is that too much to ask from you?

He could have quoted those for one if he's adressing them and even then his post is needlessly agressive and dismissive against some pretty reasonable points.

And I'm not sure why you have your panties in a bunch either.

I wouldn't consider myself a LBJ fan, but I'm not sure you can shit on him for this. He showed up, his team did not. Against an average or even good team, Lebron might be all you need, but these Spurs are clearly better than just good.

What scares me the most is what teams are going to have to do to put enough talent on one roster to compete with San Antonio. While it's nice to see the bought and paid for superteam get wrecked, I fear the league will just go further in that direction as the best players realize that it takes more than just one or two superstars to get their hands on that trophy.

If OKC was healthy, I think they take the Spurs.

Really?

Asking someone what "dafuq are you talking about", but telling me I have my panties in a bunch?

LOL

I like Lebron, but Spurs had the better team by far. It's not even a question. People get so emotionally involved.

If you're choosing players, Lebron goes first and then you're picking lots of Spurs.

Also people are really overrating all of the Bulls' role players and it's hilarious. Pippen is better than anyone other than Lebron on the Heat team, but the rest of the Bulls' team ran on heart and being clutch almost alone. I'm not even sure I'd take Rodman over Bosh, as someone else suggested. Rodman can't put up the offensive numbers Bosh can whatsoever as great as he was defensively. Wade in his prime is also better than anyone other than Pippen and Jordan on the Bull's squad.

Heart and clutch? HRD I love u but ur basketball analysis kills me

Not a fan of intangible analysis

Lebron is just getting payback in spades for the arrogant display he put on with "the decision' and that really tacky introduction of the Big 3 in their first year together.

The Spurs were prepared for the playoffs throughout the year, so much so that they were playing their bench for the most part of the second half of the NBA regular season.

Pop outcoached Spolestra as well, and the Heat just showed how old their team is in comparison to a very conditioned Spurs team.

Bron has 2 more years to prove he's bringing the Heat 4 rings, otherwise I believe that fanbase will drop him like a bad habit.

Again. Don't understand this. Lebron gets payback for a bad public moment 4 years ago- but it's cool that tony parker cheated on his wife?

The way we evaluate lebron publicly is on a completely different scale than anyone else

Marital infidelity doesn't anger the basketball gods.

What does Parker's cheating have to do with basketball?

And a big ol' LOL to whoever said they'd take Bosh over Rodman. I mean, come on.

The guy is a great player that´s undeniable, but this is a team sport, and the best team won.
And he has an uphill battle to be considered the GOAT that´s pretty clear, and there´s no single player no one, that has ever won an nba title without a good team, a team is made of players not of names, like Pop said of kawhi leonard he walks the walk, same as the rest of the San Antonio players, and a lot of the players in magic´s team, Larry´s, Jordan´s did you can´t win otherwise
