Two stupid questions from a new Xbox One owner:
1) I downloaded Halo Spartan Assault and the other game, but I can't play them. Is this because I only have the Gold trial that was included with the system, and not an actually paid for, fully Gold Xbox Live account?
2) What's the deadline to get Xbox Live Gold and be able to download this month's free games?

Got the same thing on my work PC (Chrome on Windows 8) but when I got home a few hours later it was fine (Chrome on OS X).
Might have been some sort of data/server issue that was fixed/updated a few hours later or might be a browser issue (I remember on the old version of Xbox.com I had a similar issue and got around it by clearing my browser history, cookies and all that stuff).
Same happens to me.
As the new achievement site is starting (see Major Nelsons Tweet) they are obviously doint something with the website

How long is strider on sale for? Until July?
Yes. It's a co-op side scrolling brawler in the vein of Castle Crasher insofar as you move around and beat things up, gain experience and unlock new abilities. There are 5 characters to choose from, each with their own sort of class/abilities as well as plenty of various fun armor/loot combos. It also has a great look to it and if filled with punk rock/80s horror movie/beer/video game references.
It's great. Now it's great and free.
In for both.
I just beat TR on the 360 a few weeks ago, but I'll be ready to go through it again in a few months.
What's the price? Show's up retail online.
I dont know - but I went to jump on the Dead Rising 3 DLC sale and it was gone within a week.

Might not be around my 360 for the summer, so I definitely don't want to miss out. Purposely didn't grab the games yet just so I could try once someone said that it worked, and that someone is you.
EDIT: Just to clarify, you're talking about the 360 games (Charlie Murder & SSF4AE), right? You downloaded them via the website with your PayPal account attached, and then removed it after adding both games to your download history?

I was using a link from the US and I had that, then I changed en-US to en-CA and it worked for me.

Don't know if this has been asked before in this thread guys, but is Summer of Arcade basically dead now?
I didn't see anything on any E3 coverage about (granted I didn't watch the entire press conference) nor have I seen any media coverage talking about it at all.
edit: I know they've "re branded" arcade but couldn't they do a "Summer of Xbox" or something like that?

Played about 30 minutes of Strider last night, and boy does that game make a good first impression. Damn it's fast and fluid, lol.

Are we sure about this one? My free month of gold that came with the system just came up two days ago. Before that, ever since the Halo and Max went up, I've been playing them/accessing them fine. I have had live previously though.

Really enjoying Max - The Curse of Brotherhood, only got my XB1 this week have barely touched Titanfall thanks to the free game!
Games with Gold on XBO has gone the way of PS+ in that once your subscription ends, you will no longer have access to those "free" games until you re-up.

how the hell do you play co-op in Halo: Spartan Assault with someone in your party? we tried it last night but we couldn't figure it out. whenever I got an invite it would just bring me to the main menu. wtf

Sure. The guy said he had an active trial though, but the games weren't working. I'm saying I had one and they did work, so I was wondering if maybe something else was the cause of him not being able to play. Neither scenario involved one of us not having any sort of live.
*if* its currently working how its supposed to do, Gold Trials UNDER 1 month in duration don't count as gold for the purpose of downloading and/or running the Xbox One GwG.
So if you're on a 1 day, 3 day or 2 week trial you won't be able to get/play them, but 1 month trials can do fine.

I hope Ryse makes it to GwG soon. I put off buying it, and would love it to be 'free' or step discount.
Ryse and Lococycle would be an amazing one-two punch, though I have a soft spot for QTEs and Twisted Pixel humour. Absolutely loved Ryse's graphics, story, and hack-n-slash combat, most of all the slow-motion QTEs. Makes you feel so bad ass when you're flowing through combos.
Lococycle on the other hand has mediocre game play and terrible graphics. Dat story though. Dat humour. Dem cutscenes.

Anyone hoping for forza or ryse as free games, it won't happen as those games are still selling in numbers and making more money then a free games for gold would be worth.
LocoCycle is budget price on steam right now, I do expect that to be the next free game if not in the next few months, i'm actually surprised that they are doing two games per month as there's not that many titles out there.

If someone is going to buy an Xbox for a game like Ryse, getting it free on XBL Gold won't influence their decision. Especially when you can just purchase it with your gold account online and download it at a later date.
That said, I don't think they will start giving big exclusive games away until they start building up the lineup of exclusive games. If I were a gambling man, my guess is that you see one launch title being free for December at the earliest.
