Always had a soft spot for Croatia. Still have one of their shirts, the one they wore when they beat England 3-2 at Wembley.

African football philosophy - oh I'm in space, and I have team mates to pass to?

Better fucking blast it into the crowd.

Its so hard to support every African team sometimes

Reminds me of something I read a few days ago from Raymond Verheijen, a Dutch coach who was with Gary Speed when he in charge of Wales and has also worked with Guus Hiddink on more than one occasion.

Why has Africa consistently failed at World Cups?

I think the biggest problem – not the only problem – is that people from Africa are generally intuitive people while in Europe, you will find people are more rational. Rational people are thinkers who have more structure. African people – intuitive people – mostly live from situation to situation which means there will be less structure.

This is a problem with both the administration and team building process. When you’re intuitive it will be difficult to build a playing style which in turn, makes it tough to get your tactical structure right. This, I believe, is the main reason why Africa has never had the World Cup. The talent is certainly there

I love tiki taka. Spain were awesome champions.

I'm happy chile went through. I hope Germany, France and Netherlands flop.

As a German, I can say that you are slightly off to want Germany to flop when you love Tiki Taka, considering that Gegenpressing shares a lot of similarities with the Spanish formula.

Also, Van Gaal is a strong supporter of possession football, basically started it with Barcelona.

They all want to be the hero. It's hard to find an African team that really plays like a team.

Nothing to do with the type of football Germany plays. Just despise you guys as a proud Engerlaaandddd fan.

I hate Italy and Argentina too.

You ain't wrong. I do feel like we just love to fucking smack the ball for literally no reason. Even when I play FIFA I whack it from miles out because 'fuck it, might be spectacular'

Still frustrating for everyone in the world who isn't actually shooting the ball lol

Am I seeing things? There's a black dude in croatias team? Maybe its my tv

is that eduardo?

oh its Samir

WTF how did he get croatian passport. Corrupt bastards

i feel like every african team in this world cup so far (excluding ivory coast) has really struggled with crossing

it's either way too long, or it hits the first defender in the way

Many african players are great when surrounded by an actual decent team with other nationalities, in their national team they look like a different player.

They have good individual players but don't really work well as a team, passing seems sloppy it seems the passion isn't there as it is when they play for their clubs

I don't think Ghana had bad crosses. I think they had bad finishes, and also the U.S CBs were heading everything away well. Which was nice for a much maligned defense.

Just tuned in. What's the desired result here to keep things interesting for Group A?

That both teams lose :P
A tie, or a lose depending of whom you ask. For Mexico, Croatia losing would be good, and for Brazil, the best would be playing with an already eliminated Cameroon.

whats the odds that it will be Brazil and Croatia advancing?

I mean, I am happy that CONCACAF is doing very good, but I chose Croatia and Brazil to advance on one of my pools, and it would be very nice to win.

That's some nonsense

They all want to be the hero. It's hard to find an African team that really plays like a team.

And pray tell me what a real team plays like...

Five. Germany, France and Netherlands, Italy and Argentina. The way he posted his choices in multiple postings brought me to the conclusion. There is probably room for more hate.

There's always room for more hate, seeing other teams that you hate fail, can be almost as enjoyable as your own team winning something.
