PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Did XSEED confirm an EU release for Brandish? SCEA seems to still be doing PSP compatibility for Vita, as everyone involved has stated that End of Serenity will be compatible.

They did on twitter.

Edit: TOTP, go buy Ys Memories Of Celceta, TxK and Velocity Ultra.

Currently in the final chapter of Hotaru no Nikki, and it's probably one of the hardest puzzle games I've ever played. At least 400 deaths so far and more to come. It doesn't feel unfair though. Checkpoints are frequent and every puzzle seems just within your grasp, if only you'd been a little more careful, so it compels you to try again. There are some really neat, unexpected changes throughout that help keep things fresh. The purely visual story is incredibly compelling too. Easily one of my favorite games so far this year. Hopefully NISA announces a localization soon.

Glad you like it! I just finished the game yesterday and I totally agree, this game is pretty hard. There is also a
secret true ending too which you should check out.

So, how does Chrono Phantasma stack up to Continuum Shift as a port? The latter was pretty solid in my experience (some sound quality issues aside), and I was wondering if this is also the case with the former.

I'm in the middle of it, and sucking terribly. I'll get through it eventually.

How does one get Hotaru no Nikki in Canada?

You can set up your Vita with a japanese PSN account, buy a japanese PSN card (from Play-Asia, like an example) and download it from the PSN Store, or you can find a retail copy of the game's limited edition, although that's already rare and quite expensive.

Is there any way to filter just Vita games in the purchase history on the Vita store? Its a nightmare to find all the PS+ games that I've 'purchased'.

In the Japanese PS store (Vita), there's a subsection(subfolder) of the PS+ section called "Already Downloaded".

Which lists all the PS+ items that have already been rotated out but you have downloaded in the past.

If whatever store you're buying from doesn't have that, it's time to pester the managing team.

Anyone know when Mutant Mudds is dropping for PS+? Almost the end of the month already...

Sorry if it's been asked already earlier in the thread.

Have you played Dokuro before? Which one of them would you say is the best game?
I've only played Dokuro a little, but probably Hotaru no Nikki. I liked Dokuro's art design, but the puzzles didn't really grab me, and combat felt out of place/blah. HnN throws new stuff at you all the time, and any combat (for the most part) is done through traps or other mechanisms. Concept, game design, music, and art-wise, htoL#NiQ just appealed more to my tastes.

Do you think it'll be very hard to get the platinum trophy for the game?

Do you think it'll be very hard to get the platinum trophy for the game?
Definitely. There's one I don't think I'll ever get. You need to perform a certain section perfectly. I only got through it using my ipod's camera, and still messed up a few times.

Should be Tuesday. Thankfully they are getting rid of releasing PS+ games like this.

Should save us a few hundred "where is X?!?!" posts.
I'm looking forward to July's PS+ games, it's nice knowing there should be at least 1 game I'll want to download every first Tuesday of the month.

Speaking of which, PS4 has had the habit of having indie games be free on PS+ the day they come out every month. Knowing that, any hints of what we may see for PS+ members come next Tuesday?

I thought this game barely had any text?

They've already localized Disagaea 3 and 4 but that didn't stop them from taking months to launch in the west. If they're planning a retail release (ehhh) the JP branch might have some reverse importation fears.

Man Rocketbirds is a good game. Everyone should buy it. It's nice to know I bought a genuinely fun Vita game this week and not just the overrated borefest that is Fez.

Hell yeah it is. I used to always put it in my top of the page recommendations in the old Vita threads, and could never get anyone to buy it. Love that game.

I liked Fez, though... not near as much, but had some fun with it.

+bro points

PS Asia is getting Towerfall Ascension and Strider, so it'll probably be the same for us.

I've been meaning to ask this for some time, but what is the easiest way to share screenshots taken on your Vita? It's been some time since I last did it, since the only way I do it is the only "transfer to your PS3, then transfer to a flash drive" gig.

How's FFX HD, Vita-GAF? I'm wondering about the framerate, mostly; I'm wondering if it's stable or not, because I've read both things and want to setttle on whether getting it for PS3 or Vita.

You can transfer to PC with content manager, post on twitter with Live Tweet, upload to Flickr with the app, or use the browser to upload somewhere like photobucket.

There's a ton of ways, depending on what you have/what you want to set up.

Frame Rate is stable. There's a few short instances where the frame rate will drop but that's typically only during cutscenes. There's only one area in the game I remember that the frame rate actually drops during gameplay. It's not even during battle either, it's while you're at a store :lol

I transfer screenshots to my PC via wifi since the files arent big. Though i think you can probably download the twitter app and do it through there? not too sure about it.

I've tried to use Flickr, but I couldn't set up an account. I don't have Twitter and I heard that it compress the images. How is postimage.org? Do I have to create an account?

flickr is all you need

The native 1080p is nice on PS3, but I prefer the Vita version overall. The ability to go into sleep mode at will is amazing. Also, portability.

I'd been using postimage.org in the past for quick uploads of single files, but I just tried twice and got an error both times - removed it from my post. :(

Twitter does compress the images, but so do most methods other than Flickr and copying directly to your PC with content manager.

I would like to add that the game is bloody beautiful on the Vita. I'd say it is probably the most beautiful looking game on the portable consoles

So I'm currently contemplating on picking up a PS4. I currently own a PS3 & an Xbox One, but I'm really interested in Infamous+ Towerfall as well as plenty of other future 2015 titles. Is it worth shelling out the extra cash right now? Or should I just wait till 2015?

It's generally stable most of the game. Vita struggles on cutscenes involving lots of people (I think it was worst in either Macalania or Zanarkand) but it is very playable. I suggest you pick it up on the Vita for the portability especially if you're planning to get the platinum.

The port is better than Extend. Load times is still on the long side (but somewhat shorter than Extend).

If you're used to play BBCSEX on vita, you will be satisfied.

The Crunchyroll app has been removed from PSN for Vita.

Meanwhile, the completely busted Nico Nico app remains in the North American store ...

Maaaan, busted out my Vita yesterday and found a 1 inch scratch on the front screen.

I'm so bummed out about it. I've had it for about 6 months and play it pretty much every day. I treat that thing better than my phone (which has 0 scratches) and it's ALWAYS in its hard case when I'm not playing.

Turns out, putting your head phones inside the case IS NOT a good idea. Looks like something heavy pushed down on the case, which pushed down on the head phone bud in return.

Such a small thing, but it really distracts me.
My poor Vita. :/

I am guessing you liked mind zero?

I'm a huge, huge sucker for DRPGs. It was good, but not for everyone.

Good job. We should make a BR VitaGAF.

Indeed, we should. I check the BRGaf topic everyday to see if anyone posted something new.

Maybe they're fixing the Crunchyroll app?
