PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

The Crunchyroll app has been removed from PSN for Vita.

Meanwhile, the completely busted Nico Nico app remains in the North American store ...

They linked to it in the store banner and I tried getting it a few days ago via that image but it didn't have any link to download the app. :|

Seems like it hit about two weeks ago?

Also I got the Mind Zero platinum about a week ago... 93+ hours... welp...

CR is garbage on all Sony platforms. The PS3 app hardlocks the system because its shit and the PS4 one evidently has the same memory issues for me as of late. I have to close and restart the app after 2-3 episodes watched every time without fail.

I dunno how Sony lets these things go through cert tbh.

Got the Flickr app working and got the Mind Zero platinum trophy as well.

hmm is the flickr app the only way to upload screenshots from the vita?

It took me 73 hours in-game, but I bet it was closer to 78 hours, judging from the hours I lost without saving and game overs.

Forgetting to save for an hour or two is the worst... then the game over hits and you're like "ugh" :(

Ys: Memories of Celceta is in the Vita now~ not sure if I should play it at the moment though since I'm in the middle of Monster Monpiece.

No, but after going through the hassle of creating a Yahoo account, I found it to be very easy and quick.

Exactly. When you're breezing through the game and killing everything, until a team stuns your party and kill everyone in the next turn. On my first playthrough, I saved everytime I went to a new floor.

Frame Rate is stable. There's a few short instances where the frame rate will drop but that's typically only during cutscenes. There's only one area in the game I remember that the frame rate actually drops during gameplay. It's not even during battle either, it's while you're at a store :lol

The native 1080p is nice on PS3, but I prefer the Vita version overall. The ability to go into sleep mode at will is amazing. Also, portability.

It's generally stable most of the game. Vita struggles on cutscenes involving lots of people (I think it was worst in either Macalania or Zanarkand) but it is very playable. I suggest you pick it up on the Vita for the portability especially if you're planning to get the platinum.

Thanks, guys. And yeah, I want to get the Vita version because of portability; I've watched some videos and I think it looks pretty good, but now that my worries about the framedrops have been cleared I guess I'll go for it.

Speaking of which, PS4 has had the habit of having indie games be free on PS+ the day they come out every month. Knowing that, any hints of what we may see for PS+ members come next Tuesday?
Guacamelee super turbo championship edition comes out on july 1st so it seems likely that might be one of the games for ps+

Also Hello vitagaf!! Ive been a lurker for about 6 months and finally got approved :D

I hope to be part of the community and have fun!

Maaaan, busted out my Vita yesterday and found a 1 inch scratch on the front screen.

I'm so bummed out about it. I've had it for about 6 months and play it pretty much every day. I treat that thing better than my phone (which has 0 scratches) and it's ALWAYS in its hard case when I'm not playing.

Turns out, putting your head phones inside the case IS NOT a good idea. Looks like something heavy pushed down on the case, which pushed down on the head phone bud in return.

Such a small thing, but it really distracts me.
My poor Vita. :/

Condolence, my brother.

I'm not sure this is the place to ask, so let me know if it is not to edit my post.

Is there an easy way to earn 100 - 120 Sony Rewards points? I'm 112 points from 1000. I want to redeem a $10 PSN card. I'd redeem a $5 but they are sold out.

Any suggestions?

I've never done it but I believe SR will let you buy points.
It should cost you $1.12 to buy the $10 psn card.
If you didn't want to spend anything, sorry no ideas. You did the 22 jump street promo on SR already?

Email app? so you send the photos to yourself? hmm perplexes me why Sony doesn't add Dropbox support to Vita and PS4...

I think it's up to Dropbox, not Sony. I can think of ways people would do that to circumvent some unpleasant things, so I don't think Sony would allow that as well.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I did the 22 Jump Street promo already, tried to do it again but got nothing :P

I also tried to buy the points but the Rewards site won't take my card. Odd.

So is there any word or leaked word on the PS Plus IGC for July? Not talking about the Asian one.

I think that US will get Wolf Among Us Ep 2 & 3 as the LATAM got it last month (previously had Sly before the US one, replacing PES2014).

I hope is something good

hmmm. I would think that Dropbox devs are open... I mean the api is already out there for use.
They can make it to only allow photos and videos.

what's wrong with flickr

ccompression? hmm idk. Dropbox would help w saving Videos AND Screebshots

Yes, because I tend to rehost my pictures on either imgur or minus. I use Flickr mostly for my personal (non-gaming) pictures.

hmm I haven't really found a cloud solution for my photos.. it's all on HDD... maybe insta or Facebook for the more social ones.

It's complicated

Update: There's also a native 1080p mode too, which operates without the benefits of any AA at all, engaged by setting the XMB to 1080p - there's a comparison gallery at the foot of the page. Additional: There's some discussion that the 720p mode super-samples down from 1080p, but it is definitely 720p with FXAA here - there are edges not filtered showing clear, native 720p rendering.

I'd be down for the super turbo championship edition. Had an absolute blast with Guacamelee on PS3 and Vita but nothing was really gonna make me spend cash for the game on PS4, so PS+ would be the perfect platform for it.

You could do the E3 app stuff for 250~ points but that requires a PS4 :( Valid till the 24th.

I should play Final Fantasy 6 before Persona 2, right? After I quit playing Atelier Totori mid-way of course.

A screen protector might help hide the scratch, maybe? I bought one from a company called Hori for my Vita, and it's wonderful.

I don't play my PS3 anymore, but the moment Atlus USA puts all their PS2 games on sale at the same time, I'll just get a couple of PSN cards and get all of them.

If the scratch is very fine, take a long free cloth with a little bit of normal toothpaste and try to polish it. The idea is to use toothpaste as a gentle "sandpaper" and remove a tiny bit of plastic on the surface to make it smooth again.

As with everything, try with a little bit of toothpaste on a small patch first. But I don't see any risk trying to be honest. Good luck.

I just got a trophy in Warframe that claims I've played it for 10 hours already. I still have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

You shouldn't be playing Persona 2: IS unless you're going to play Persona 2:EP directly afterwards in my opinion.
Pretty much this^

all I have been playing on my Vita is Magical Beats and the PSP FF III game. Such good games, I wish Magical Beats had online multiplayer and a plat trophy :/

So I'm tempted to pick up Assassins Creed 3 (Not Liberation) for $10 because the setting interests me. Someone convince me not to

Is this a Person 3 Portable, Persona 3 Last Answer situation?
what version of FFVI may I ask?
Android. It's really difficult to play. The scrolling and stuff. The art is so... icky. Like they baby-fied all of it. Then again, I have a particular disdain for 16-bit games and their art assets.

I sometimes use LiveTweet to upload some screenshots to my Twitter account. Then again, I occasionally put up a screenshot or two a week.

Email app? so you send the photos to yourself? hmm perplexes me why Sony doesn't add Dropbox support to Vita and PS4...

The PS Mobile app Cloud Disk claims to be able to transfer photos to a Dropbox account. I don't have either, so I can't verify this.

Is this a Person 3 Portable, Persona 3 Last Answer situation?

Less so. Whereas The Answer felt somewhat like an extended epilogue of sorts Persona 2 was designed from the outset as a duology with both games serving as two complementary chapters to a single narrative (of sorts).

While you could of course play them separately you're only doing yourself a disservice by allowing the connections you make in IS to fade over time instead of letting it linger into your playthrough of EP.

So this is just me advocating you get the most out of Persona 2 if you do intend to play it. There is a reason why of the Persona fandom P2 has its strong supporters.

I don't want to come off as an elitist here, but so much of the art direction is lost in that Android port of FFVI. Are you sure you want to play it that way?

I like the mood of the thread now , pesimism was replaced with interesting information , recomendations and etc. Vitagaffers we should stay strong!

For those wondering if the ports of Final Fantasy X and X2HD are good. YES and they look amazing. I rarely encounter frame issues in the game and i can say for sure it runs much better than the ps2 counterpart . Looks better also. New textures look good, the game is a very good game despite an awful main character. these are by far one of the best ports in Vita.

Regarding God of War Collection on Vita: Its amazing how they could compress two big ps2 games on such a small card, God of war 2 alone wouldnt fit in ond of those little cards. The port is playable and i have to say i cannot notice much difference (appart from some smoothness) with ps2 version. The game biggest mistake as a port is not the frame dips but the awful CG animations that didnt improve from what you saw in ps2(well maybe just a bit). The ports are VERY playable and are good enough to revisit as portable games. And the most important thing is... well God of War 2 portable(wich in fact looks and runs better than the first)

Regarding Borderlands 2 Vita : Im hoping to try the new patch. This is a great port but again with some issues with frame rate , some changes like the explosions instead of ragdolls when you kill an enemy(wich i like very much and i find addictive to see and listen). This looks great on an Oled screen. The game is fun as hell and is a BIG game so if the question is "is it worth of my money?" yes it is .

Im gonna buy Sly Cooper Collection soon for my Vita , been listening good things about this ports.

Whats all the hysteria about GR2? is not coming to Vita? should i stop supporting the console now? I think it should come as it was announced as BlackLagoon said in other post in a Vita segment of TGS. The trailer looks like the same engine but in native res , if you look at it there is some jagging as well so it should be Vita. PLEASE BE VIta.. ups im sorry haha

So did I buy an incomplete game? Or just part 1 of 2? Ugh. Does Eternal Punishment go on sale as often as all the other Atlus games? Maybe I'll just play FFX-2.

Nope. I am not. I dislike everything about playing on mobile right now to be honest. The movement wheel is dumb. Picking actions is dumb. The art style is dumb. I think the actual font of the entire game is making me upset.

What's the best JRPG on PSN for Vita I've never heard of? I'll buy it within the next week.
