Considering this is Kojima's final metal gear (again), big boss and solid snake should both be in the game.
I don't know how, but they should.

Also, I want mg1, 2 and even mgs remade with this engine.

Kojima pretty much confirmed Solid Snake in an interview last year.

Edit: and let's not forget this Shinkawa art Kojima teased.

Solid Snake is in the game 100% and not just as a 12 year old child, fans have been asking for Solid Snakes return for years, this is the time.

I miss playing as a young Solid Snake. I hate what Kojima did to him in MGS4.

EDIT: Don't get me hyped now Sn4ke_911!

BELIEVE! HE WILL RETURN, that's the reason why they changed the voice actor because it would be pretty stupid if Solid Snake and Big Boss have the same VA when they fight against each other.

Not fight against each other, but appear in a scene where Solid Snake joins FOXHOUND and they meet.

Metal Gear 1 and 2 should be Remade.. I can't get into those games because I'm gonna admit it, They feel really outdated. MGS on the other hand is still really enjoyable. So the best thing Kojima can do for this series before he bows out is Remake MG 1&2. That's all I really want. I don't want a prequel into The Boss's WW2 days because this is Solid Snake and Big Boss's Story not Hers.

The reason could be Akio Ōtsuka has more range and could voice both. He's incredible talented just like Troy Baker.

Or probably because in JP all CVs are rock stars already, where Hayter isn't.

Seriously, isn't it frowned upon in Japan to change VAs and may affect the popularity of the property?

That hub cover is simply from the MGS 25th anniversary cover art:

Doesn't change the fact that he's on a cover for MGSV.

and no that is not the same art, you're talking about The Essental Collection cover.

So guys, do we know if Kojima dropped the atmospheric cloud tech that was present in the ps4 version of GZ and present in the GDC presentation and E3 2013 trailer? I'm not seeing it in the e3 2014 trailer or the 30 minute demo. Not talking about the lighting but the atmospheric cloud tech. I'll post a couple of pictures later.

According to this, it's in:

Clouds wheel through the sky casting dynamic shadows, coming together and parting in unrepeated patterns with the passing of time.

Ah yes, wrong cover! Doesn't change the fact that he's on what cover? You mean the GI hub? This was brought up back when it was first shown on GI and they responded by saying they did the mock up themselves of existing artwork.

Stop trying to crush Sn4ke_911's soul!

I think he's going to be in the game too at the very end.

They responded to it? any source? Well maybe Konami or so asked them to hint at Solid Snake? i mean you can only see him good if you change the brightness. Oh and why would they put Solid Snake on that cover for no reason? that makes no sense, i think they teamed up with Konami or KojiPro to hint at him.

Would be the same if they make a cover for Batman: Arkham Knight and put in Nightwing just for the lulz. Pretty sure they're not allowed to do that.

as i said earlier in the thread. it's certainly possible that solid snake will make an appearance in this game (teasing a lead up to MG1 or something like that), but i find it more plausible that you're grasping for straws than the possibility that you "cracked the code" and confirmed solid snake is in the game. stop passing off speculation as some obvious 100% confirmed thing.

Of course everything i say is just pure speculation and just my opinion, duh.

100%

I already said a while back how I think Snake will return. Either towards the end the timeline changes or through DLC you will play the first Snake mission that was released on NES [Yes I know before that it was released on the MX or something like that don't remember] to fight and take down the boss.

We don't need Solid Snake guys.

Big Boss>Everyone else. Especially Paz.

Take that back! I'm dying to play as a young Solid Snake again.

Even if he's not back in this, Kojima said he's not done with Solid Snake, even though he wanted him to die in MGS4, in an interview not so long ago.

Exactly! He said that right after MGS4.

the problem with playing as solid again in the future is, they either have to abandon the base-building mechanic, or somehow retcon it into solid's story.

ground zeroes-ish DLC missions would be cool though

I understand, but it's a news outlet. They aren't controlled by Konami. If they had said to hint at Solid Snake, it'd be a big risk considering someone would've come out and said, "they wanted Solid Snake hinted at". I can try and find that source for you later when I get home (in Chicago airport waiting for my connecting flight back home). I recall it being a big conspiracy back when that hub was put up, but GI quickly shot that theory down saying it was simply mocked up from existing art as well as that new Big Boss art.

The way this all came off to me is that Kojima was oblivious to Hayter's popularity as Snake and thought most western fans would embrace a hollywood star taking over. Now that it's come to this he's sticking to his guns and doing his best to ignore all the people flaming him on twitter about firing Hayter or asking for Hayter to come back, so I'm not sure he's even considered the possibility that he could bring Hayter back as Solid Snake and keep Kiefer as Big Boss let alone had it up his sleeve all along. If he has considered it, he probably doesn't even want to now out of spite... especially after Hayter's twitter tirade.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love this... it would be a great surprise. But the way this has all played out makes me think that if a scene does happen between Big Boss and a young adult Solid Snake, it'll either be Kiefer playing both (like I assume Akio Otsuka will) or they'll hire someone completely new. And that's gonna suck so hard.

If it's all been some prank from the beginning then I applaud Kojima and Hayter for pulling it off so well, but i'm very skeptical based on what i've seen. I'm sure Solid Snake will be in it in some form but I'm scared it won't be Hayter.

I don't care for Hayter at this point. If Solid Snake makes his way into the game with Hayter behind him, great. Other than that, the way MGSV's tone and theme are going, hearing Hayter as Big Boss just...ugh. I'm glad he's voiced by Keifer. I mean the way Kaz speaks, gets you into the feels about the character. I love it. But it just would feel so completely out of place to hear Hayter respond to something so powerful. Either way. Da hell is that release date. I need it!

There was never any talk of atmospheric cloud tech, that rumour was started on this forum as far as I could tell. The part of the GDC presentation was about atmospheric scattering, it's not weather simulation, just sky colour simulation.

Sutherland is without a doubt better. The problem is that I hear too much Jack Bauer in the voice, though that is quickly diminishing as I warm up to it.

Hayter is classic Solid Snake though, and it would be a shame to replace that.

He claims this is his last MGS (as he does with them all), but he says this isn't the end of the series. He wants his team to continue the series (though they failed hard with Rising, unfortunately).

Can you imagine if we see a new Metal Gear 1 with the two shouting at each other ready for war? That would be pretty damn epic.

I actually liked Raiden more in MGS2.

I like Raiden but this is pretty crazy man.

Sure they are not controlled by Konami but that doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. Again, take for example Batman. WB and Rocksteady would never ever allow them to put Catwoman on the cover when she's not in the game.

GI get's contacted to see the game, then they get the material from the developer and publisher which they can use for their cover story. I think they reason why they used old Solid Snake art is because new Shinkawa art would have been to obvious.

Man, I haven't played MGS 1-3 since the Essential Collection came out. Almost bought the HD version today but looked into the Vita versions and now I'm kind of tempted to pick up a Vita to play them on the Vita.

Do you really think Kojima would let his team handle a Solid Snake (his baby!) story after they fucked up with Rising?

I think Kojima will finish his story with his Snakes and after that IF he moves on from the Metal Gear series his team works on a The Boss game in WW2 or something.

Can you imagine if we see a new Metal Gear 1 with the two shouting at each other ready for war? That would be pretty damn epic.

Kojima said he wasn't interested in remaking MG and MG2:SS

But I think it's pretty certain we get those eventually when Kojima is tied up on either a long dev cycle MGS or a new IP.
The early because lol towards the latter.

Do you really think Kojima would let his team handle a Solid Snake (his baby!) story after they fucked up with Rising?

It's like countries, they only exist because they are recognized. A non-Kojima mgs has a slim chance of success, especially if he steps away from it in entirety. Konami needs him.

Do you really think Kojima would let his team handle a Solid Snake (his baby!) story after they fucked up with Rising?

I'd sacrifice a MG/MG2 remake (if that's what you're referring to) to the videogame gods to get Kojima on a new IP. There are so many settings, characters, and themes that could use his maniacally detailed approach.

So I hope he hands it off, and I dun curr what happens to it.

Did Kojima not like Rising?

I thought it was fantastic, not story, but damn the game was a lot of fun to play. Plus the soundtrack was ace.

I like Raiden but this is pretty crazy man.

Solid should get his own Ninja game.

Do you really think Kojima would let his team handle a Solid Snake (his baby!) story after they fucked up with Rising?

Of course not, but I truly believe he means it's his last each time he says it. This means he can focus on giving it his all during development. He keeps getting roped into new MGS games because the budget allotted for the series is ridiculously high, meaning he can inject all his new ideas into each new MGS. That's what helps each game stay fresh while still revolving around stealth action.
