Other titles on sale:

a bunch of their boardgame licenses (Risk, Monopoly, Boggle, etc)
Sims Medieval
Command & Conquer
Mortal Kombat 3

Anyone playing or tried DQVIII on a iPad Air or 5s?

Does it still have framerate problems on that gpu?

Framerate is low on every device, including iPad Air, Mini retina and 5S.

Think Ocarina of Time, it's like that. Low 20's fps, but at least it's locked.

Actually, I intalled this on my mother's 4S and was surprised to see that performance isn't too different from my Mini retina, which is great for people with older devices.

Having a blast with Dungeon Gems and Uppercut Football right now. Pleasantly surprised at the games released today besides Godfire!

Biggest surprised to me was Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville. Simple but fun mashup of shmup and Metroidvania.

Any iOS gems that I should be aware of ?

Some of my favorites (not including MiniDash since is iPhone-only):

Duet by Kumobius
BADLAND by FrogMind
Penumbear by Bulkypix
Futuridium EP by MixedBag
Gesundheit! by Revolutionary Concepts
Danmaku Unlimited 2 by Simon Tann
The Last Rocket by Shawn Inman
Darkin by TenFoiledHats
Out There by Mi-Closs
Worm Run by Golden Ruby Games
Threes by Asher Vollmer
99 Bricks: Wizard Academy by WeirdBeard
Slayin by FDG Entertainment

Okay, surprisingly, Dungeon Gems is pretty good. I've put many hours into PAD and various clones, and this one might get my attention for a bit. We'll see how the IAP plays out.

I really wish there was a new Simogo game out-or new levels for Tiny Thief. Any Tiny Thief clones/similar apps out there?

Anyone else here have Dead Space or Mirror's Edge for iPad?

Trying to log in to my Origin account, and this is what happens

Basically, the Origin log in window comes up like it would on an iPhone, and I'm unable to access any of the 'LOG IN' or 'CONTINUE' buttons.
Wondering if there is some setting I'm missing?

Just tried it, and I have the same issue on my ipad Air. I've never bothered logging into Origin before. Why would you want to do it?

Completed VVVVVV yesterday, and then I spent an hour on the super gravitron level. What in the hell? I have completed every mode in Super Hexagon, but I could only last 9 seconds in gravitron. This shit is insane!!

This game is like crack. I cannot stop playing it!

99 Bricks Wizard Academy really does deserve more love in this thread.

I've not bothered with the costumes or the hats. Don't think they do anything. Mainly I've upgraded the Petrify Brick spell and the Upgrade Tower Piece spell.

Sometimes I focus on creating a very wide tower using the petrify block, and end up with a short tower. I once filled up the entire width of the screen.

It's such a great game though

Seems to be a universal issue across all their apps. I get the same result on NBA Jam and Flight Control Future. So far it appears there's no content locked behind an origin login so haven't given it much thought.

Geeeeeeeze! Battleheart Legacy might be my new favorite mobile game ever. How is this game just so damn polished? Everything FEELS right, which is a huge deal to me. It's crazy that I've got my 3DS, Vita, and Shield, but all I freaking want to play right now is this dumb little iPhone game. It's just so good!

I REALLY enjoyed the first couple hours, but then I ran out of quests (except the main one which requires an absurdly high level), and I don't see myself doing the same dungeons over and over to level up. To me it feels like an awesome template for an iOS RPG. There just isn't enough unique content to support it.

Yeah, it's not crucial. You can unlock some goodies in Dead Space 2 by finishing DS mobile, and you can get some war assets for Mass Effect 3 in Infiltrator.

Thanks for tipping 99 bricks. Bought it yesterday and I have been hooked! It's really addictive and great. No dumb micro transactions either. Winner!!

To anyone who bought Dungeon Heroes:The boardgame .... Feel free to invite me for a async game.
Having a blast with the (really hard) single player so far.

I second this, have really been enjoying it. The physics can be a bit janky but the game is so much fun.

Holy shiz, nice tower Khanage!

Agree, more people need to buy it.

Cheers. That was a labour of love.

I saw Flunkie post about it several pages back. Bought it then but have only started playing it in the last few days. Totally agree about the micro transactions. I tapped on one of the items I knew I couldn’t afford expecting to be prompted to buy credit. Pleasantly surprised I wasn’t. Easily one of my favourite iOS games this year.

If you love tetris you really should play this game.

I was really not feeling 99 Bricks at first, but once I stopped playing the game like Tetris it really hit me and I've been hooked.

After years, Canabalt got a new update!
Widescreen, new audio track (!), 3 new characters and new Game Center integration.
Loved this game, it was the very first GAF challenge. And the music is without a doubt my favorite ever of any iOS game (and then something!), super iconic, really really great and crazy when you think the composer did it in ONE night

I finally managed to play some multiplayer games of Dungeon Heroes: The board game, some with the dev no less...and let me tell you it's damn awesome.
It's VERY DIFFERENT from the single player...which is fun but seems a bit unbalanced and harsh, and luck dependent (I find it fun nonetheless).

The multiplayer is really balanced whichever side you are playing (who initiates the game has the heroes)...games are fast and ultra tense.
The party and their single abilities make much more sense and you actually have chances to survive even after some members died if you play well.

Great game overall, I can see this being added in my daily async routine.

Some (minor) improvements I would like to be added:

1) a custom sound for turn notification.
2) a more fancy title screen and UI...it's functional, nice during the gameplay but it's not Lost Cities or Ascension level of polish. (It's good tough, and works very well)....little details like seeing the opponent GC avatar, knowing when it's online, etc...
3) sometimes (maybe network related) you enter in the previous turn screen where you left the game and it does not load the new turn (going to menu and re-entering solves this)
4) I can't help to dislike, expecially on iPad, those giant gray buttons
5) being able to choose the master side even if I initiate the game

Anyway, besides these (very minor indeed) things, I'm really loving the mp game...great mechanics.
Highly recommended.

We've also released our first "published" game - Birzzle Fever. It's a pretty casual puzzler, but you might end up enjoying it too :)

I was enjoying this even though the timer was getting to be a pain, up until I reached one of the missions that caused me to quit and decide to uninstall. All of the missions prior had been stuff like get a max combo or pop so many birds. The new one wanted me to harass 2 friends to complete the mission. So I have an unobtainable mission, since I refuse to use Facebook and even if I did I wouldn't annoy people with this type of thing. I am given the option of skipping the mission, but to do that you have to use the game's premium currency, which I don't know if you can earn it in game later, but as of yet I haven't gotten any.

Yep, you totally shouldn't play this like Tetris. It will take you forever and you won't get anywhere in terms of reaching new heights

So what's the right way to play it?

Tetris is all about laying and stacking pieces to clear them. 99 Bricks is all about laying and stacking pieces to build a stable tower. Once you see the difference, the game makes so much more sense and also becomes a much quicker and exciting puzzle game.

I don't know guys. The way I got my high scores was pretty much playing it like I would if I was building for multiple tetrises. The only difference of course is that I'm not clearing them away. I take it slow and build solid structures. But I guess it can be played in multiple ways.

I'm willing to try one of the life-sucking iOS free games. Which should I play, Puzzle & Dragons or Brave Frontier?

Played both. I'd recommend love live.

Can anyone recommend Wayward Souls or Bastion for a fun RPG that doesn't get slow? Playing on an IPad 4.

Wayward souls isn't an rpg. Bastion isn't really either. Fun action rpg is the recent battle heart legacy. It's kinda like diablo with multi job systems that allow switching and skill inheritance. Aka you can make broke ass dudes.

Bastion is 100% better, especially on iPad. Wayward is a much much smaller game in terms of scope, and the controls are much more suited to iPhone. Bastion is a proper game and fits much better on iPad.

Probably Bastion for the experience and one play through. The atmosphere and production value is high. The gameplay is a bit "meh" to me.

Wayward Souls is hard. If you're not good, you'll be repeating the same set of levels over and over despite it procedurally generated levels. It's really rewarding if you progress..but for me, it's replaying the "same" level over and over.

Battleheart Legends is fun, but really slow and grindy to me. There's a lack of clear direction which made the game feel even slower. But the main draw for me are mix and matching multi class skills. After beating the game once, I didn't feel the urge to start a new game + just to grind up the skills again. It was fun while it lasted.

Of these three...for a one time experience, I'd say go with Bastion if you haven't played it before. For a hard game, go with Wayward Souls. For experimenting with different skills, get Battleheart Legends.

Bastion: the scenarios a jaw dropping, the story is touching and the gameplay is fast and neat. Wayward Souls is good but its more of a roguelike, really difficult and more like the iOS version of Dark Souls 2, as if you are not mentally prepared you will get squashed very often. Also Bastion has superior level design and art design, voice acting. There is really not much competition at all between those two, Bastion by a landslide.

If you love tetris you really should play this game -99 Bricks-.

And if you don't like Tetris -like me- but enjoy endless games with a lot of personality, no micro transactions and many unlocks, get it also.

I formerly used AppTicker to track pricing of games. The good thing about that was that I could also track whole developer catalogues. However, I am thinking about switching to Appshopper. Is there any way to add all GAFfers at once?

I haven't played Wayward Souls but Bastion is terrible. I'd recommend Oceanhorn or Swordigo instead. Both are fantastic from start to finish.
