Point n Click Adventure GAF 2014 No longer in our dreams, memories or just Germany.

Full options to turn off the voices and switch back to classic graphics, so yeah, it's a good way to play MI2.

High five.

The remakes of both SoMI and LCR are terrible, they didn't get the spirit of them at all (I blame comi). Good thing you can turn them off and play the originals in all their beauty.

I think you're definitely right there. It seemed like they tried to bring the COMI style to the original games, and it just didn't fit at all. I love Dominic Armato in COMI, but he doesn't fit MI 1/2. Neither do the new graphics. They're totally wrong for the humour and tone that MI 1/2 have.

The less said about the MEANWHILE voice actor, the better.

Well that's messed up. I got a payment receipt from Bundle Stars but no email indicating my key codes or anything and when I do the forgot password thing on site, I get no email about changing a password I never had.. What the hell?

[nevermind, just took a long time to send]

The first Black Mirror was released on Steam today and now all three games are available there. And according to its page, the first game seems to work on modern operating systems. Before, I remember reading how it wouldn't run on Windows 7. Anyway, nice to see all three there as I've always had my eye on them.

Saw that in the Steam thread - would be nice to see the game reach audiences on GOG as well.

Acouple little bundles @ Indie Gala.

Syberia bundle (Syberia 1+2+Obulis for 4$)
Still Life bundle (Still Life 1+2+Postmortem for 3$)

I don't know if they updated it for Steam, but I tried the version on Gamersgate a while ago and was unable to play it on Windows 7. The game would always crash on a certain line of dialogue with no way to skip it. I googled and wasn't the only one with that problem but couldn't find a fix.
So I just watched a Let's Play instead.

Based on that I wouldn't really recommend it; horrible (and slow) voice acting, disappointing story, and predictable twist ending.

I've been playing the second one, though, and it's pretty good.

Reminder.

Secret File pack has 1.5 hrs left on Gamersgate. $8 for all 4 games (single steam key)

Also the next game Wadget Eye is publishing looks great called A Golden Wake, a game set in the 1920s.

Coming early 2015.

A Golden Wake -> Francisco Gonzalez (Ben Jordan freeware games, lots of VA for previous WadjetEye games)
Technobabylon -> Technocrat Games (Nancy The Happy Whore)

Ben Jordan games are some of my favourite adventure games ever, cases 3&4 specifically.

Kind of sad that it's ended now though ):

armikrog. at E3 is pretty exciting. they held a few secret press meetings and just now threw up some new screenshots. easily my most anticipated game since the kickstarter (can't wait for dat physical edition ;))

Well that's a shame. Maybe I'll just read up on the plot.

It's definitely preferable to the new art but it's still missing some of the music transitions from the original release. I'm honestly still impressed by IMUSE.

It's a shame that so many of the old Lucasarts games are still buried. Talk to GOG, Disney!

Been following A Golden Wake's development for a while, so excited. Looks and sounds great, glad Wadjet Eye is publishing it, bound to be fun.

Didn't know about technobabylon, will have to look up more info but I like what I see right now from the screens!

So I'm playing The Inner World and having a lot of fun with it. Love the cartoon-y art style and Gorfelina is quite a looker haha.

Hmm, did the Whispered World devs decide to be reasonable after all? The special edition seems to have been automatically added to my Steam library.

Any thoughts on Memento Mori (2009)? Thinking of picking it up and its 2014 sequel. Is it similar to any particular PnC?

It's a good game - nothing amazing, but serviceable if you're into conspiracy and things like that. I've yet to play the second but visually it's a better game, but there's a bug for me where I can't see the menu when I pause it so I can't save or load. Seems like an uncommon issue though so maybe you'll be fine.

I'd say it's similar to Secret Files.

Thanks dude. I quite enjoyed the first Secret Files (couldn't get into the second one though), so I'll check it out. Hopefully the story and voice acting is better.

The Walking Dead is a daily today @ 75% for Season 1 and 50% for Season 2. Get on it.

Blackwell and The Dream Machine are my standouts in that list. Even though Half-Life 3 will be released before we see the last episode of The Dream Machine.

The Shiva is good too. Dave Gilbert is dreamy.

Just finished The Inner World which was a fun 7-hour adventure. Artwork was very much to my liking and although the main character was probably my least favorite character, later on he got better and wittier. Definitely recommend it!

Moving onto Alter Ego and definitely a big change of pace. I haven't played a PnC game like this in a while with the realistic, non fantasy 1800's time period. Have heard good things up until to the end so we'll see how this goes.

Also want to pick up Black Mirror and the two sequels this summer sale but it's sad to see only 2 and 3 are on 60% sale and not the first one but it makes sense since it was just put on the store. I'll hold out for a while for the first one and see if it does go lower and pick up the second and third ones in the morning.

Just stumbled on this thread, and saw the Inner World trailer. Seems like my cup of tea. Will probably see if it goes on sale at some point during the Summer Adventure Sale though.

So many of these adventure games look so serious though. Is there any modern character driven adventure games that don't take themselves too seriously? Like games where talking monkeys are commonplace?

My favourite games I've played so far. Time Gentlemen, please, Day of the Tentacle, Broken Age, I quite enjoyed Longest Journey, but it was quite draining to play.

Ooh, both of these look really neat.

On the Technobabylon site it says "in association with Wadjet Eye Games" so are they publishing that as well?

Even though Half-Life 3 will be released before we see the last episode of The Dream Machine.

why do you say that? the only extremely long wait (so far) was between episodes 3 and 4, and even then they're good with updating their blog/facebook. Episode 5 is pretty far along already...

also if you preordered when only episodes 1 and 2 were available, it was only for 5 episodes since the 6th wasn't announced until a year ago :o

I posted a little earlier; I wouldn't recommend the first one. The second is much better (probably because it's a different developer). Granted, I haven't finished it so it might have an ending as bad as the first one.

You really can't go wrong with any of these. Ranging from great to average but all worth the low cost. Culpa Innata is a really interesting game. Nikopol as well...

Apparently the Steam version is fine on Windows 7, but wouldn't you recommend someone play the first one regardless just not to be lost when it came to the sequel? I'll probably play them all, but I've heard two and three are much better games.

Oh also guys. Been interested in Culpa Innata but have a couple questions.

People seem to rant about the game's non-linear story. So it's more open world about objectives or what?

Also is it worth buying off the adventure shop for the uncut version? What are the differences from the Steam version?

been on a bit of a wadjet eye games kick. I finished the first four Blackwell games over the past 3-4 days. They were great, I especially enjoyed finishing the Blackwell deception. I'll get epiphany some day.

I installed Gemini Rue and I look forward to playing that.

Started playing Under a Killing Moon the other day.

WTF is all I can say...weird controls I can't seem to change... and errr the graphics are k and stuff but I have no idea what to do. I mean, I dont even know what it's suppose to be.

Same with Grim Fandango, can't see the appeal in it ><

Same with Grim Fandango, can't see the appeal in it ><

Just keep playing. At first its hard to get adjusted to Grim Fandango's controls (the no interface stuff + controlling characters in 3D - I remember not liking it when the game was released), but after a while you will get used to it and you will see the real strength of the game: the art direction, themes and the whole film noir mixed with Mexican dead folk atmosphere. And, of course, the story.

Or just use the pnc interface mod.
