EDIT: Serena gave a really good interview to what's-his-face (during the rain delay). It was pretty insightful. She talked about how she doesn't read articles about herself (whether they be good or bad) because she doesn't want them to get to her head or make her feel bad about herself. She said she started doing that as a teenager.

She also talked about how she feels that she embraces her losses because she feels that they make her work harder and "build character" when you come back from them.

Halep is the real deal dude. Train has already left the station, but you can still catch up to if you leave now. And she's not THAT short. Justine Henin was about 3" shorter than her and Justine was a dragon slayer, and multiple slam winner.

Huh. I had no idea she's actually taller than Henin. That surprises me, as Halep *looks* tiny. Anyway, I don't know if I'd use comparisons with Henin to support claims that Halep is the real deal (as in, probably going to win at least a couple of GS titles), as although, yes, Henin definitely beat a lot of taller/bigger players in her day, she also eventually developed a real problem in dealing with them. I'm not saying that's for sure going to happen with Halep -- I'm just saying it's a possibility. Also, one good year doesn't necessarily mean she's going to, say, top the rankings anytime soon or win a slew of GS titles in the next few years, IMO.

She needed to lose. Homegirl can't win a match in low level tournaments, but has done really well at the past 7 majors. She needed this loss to perhaps inspire her to do better at smaller tournaments so she won't be under so much pressure to do well at the majors to maintain her ranking. She'll probably drop out of the top 20 with this loss, perhaps even more

Well, thats true, his serve is big. But its big because he is tall and in being tall he'll have trouble with low bouncing balls. And the bounces are usually at its lowest on grass, which isn't optimal for someone like Isner. I imagine any decent slice would be a nightmare for him on this surface. Footwork is also much harder to get right on the grass. Even Raonic with his big serve probably prefers the clay to grass because that surface gives him more time to set up his ground strokes.
