I just realized the fishing rod not only damages enemies, but can pick up any of my fallen/floating loot from below. This game.

You get Feats on Wii U, and there'll always be Steam sales for double dipping. I'd say just jump at Wii U for now.

Thanks for the info, ended up going with the Wii U version since it has the feats anyway. Got that nice little Shovel Knight icon on my Front Screen now!

Been playing for about an hour and a half now, finished up the
Plains
and
Pridemoor Keep
stages, and really love this game. The music is godtier, the gameplay is really fine-tuned, and the levels seem to get progressively more difficult. I dig it. :)

1. I know it is. I am stating that Yacht Club simply didn't want to wait for the euro/aus 3DS/Wii U approval process before releasing the NA version.

2. Initial date was fall 2013, then became winter, then was solidified as march 31st 2014, then was de-solidified, and then went for two months without a date while people were asking "where is shovel knight" and YCG's only answer was a constant "soon".

They were pretty open towards the end about fixing bugs and not wanting to set a date until it was approved.

Sorry if the question has already been asked, but is there any difference between the Wii U and PC version of the game ?

Having a hard time choosing a platform to play this on.

Where can I find the
Lance? I thought it would be in the Propeller Knight's level
but I want to be sure before I keep searching in vain.

Question was answered on this very page of the topic.

All versions are the same with minor extra features. The Steam version has cards. That's it. Buy it wherever you prefer to play.

I sent in an email about the Tinker Knight boss bug, apparently it's a known issue and is lined up for the next version.

For now be careful finishing him off with a shovel drop.

how is the streetpass mini game?... I'm a streetpass junkie and that might lean my decision towards the 3DS version.

Amusing but not very deep. The main draw of the 3DS version would be the 3D layers, imo. That and the 3DS's portability and excellent d-pad.

It's a fun concept but I don't get many streetpasses in my area (especially because I'm stuck at home right now and too much of a good cookie to do a home relay). Haven't seen the results myself.

thanks guys.

3DS version for me, it is.

Man, this game. Got up to the
third
map section and beat Propeller Knight. So fucking good...it's hard to criticize much. Gold is maybe a bit too plentiful but that's whatever. Game got pretty challenging starting with the second set of bosses. Not the toughest game ever, but very satisfying and engaging. If the game doesn't putter out toward the end, it'll probably be sitting at number 2 behind Tropical Freeze for my GotY, pending other releases.

Bravo, Yacht Club.

I'm still early in the game, but I'm having a blast.

The level design, the graphics, the mechanics, the music, everything is amazing so far.

I really hope the retro revolution never ends. It's the only kind of gaming I can enjoy these days.

Finally died in Polar Knight's stage (during the long spike floor section, three times even!), if this is the base difficulty now, I'll be happy.

Any hints for the Spectre Knight? I've got the fire rod thing and just boosted my magic to 50 and got 5 hearts. Keep getting killed by him :/

This may not help much but I'd suggest to focus on dodging. None of his stuff is too difficult to avoid. Just play it cool and take your time. Fire rod is useful when he catches the scythe on the other side of the screen.

As far as items. Buy a couple containers, in the basement of the first village. Talk to the guy all the way to the right. Then on the map, go up right to talk to the whale. Buy the same potion twice, that fills life and magic to max.

You can also buy a special item, that makes you invincible for a breif moment. You'll need this for doing the gem runs, on the map. Its in an area in the level your in.

Really though, learning his pattern is key. Use fireballs when you can, as well as shovel.

Funny thing is, when i finally beat him, i didnt need any items(besides firerod)/upgrades, since i eventually learned his pattern. Which was the round when i finally upgraded.

Think I might finally put my Digital Deluxe bucks toward something. Been waiting for the right moment.

Damn, I didn't think of that. I was contemplating getting it on Steam but since I have $6 on my Wii U and I don't see myself buying anything else digitally on the thing except maybe Pushmo World, I probably should use it now.

Such a great game but I suck. Keep dying on the Plague level and losing all my precious gold :(. Might restart. Do you get anything for destroying all the checkpoints in a level cause I beat the Specter level without checkpoints and got a Meal ticket after, don't know if that's usually the case in that level or not.

I just breezed through the first level. This game is amazing :D Super pleased with how it turned out, it plays flawlessly, sounds flawlessly and looks flawlessly. Will double deep on WiiU or PC at some point just because.

Been playing this a lot since last night, love the music, love the gameplay...pretty much love everything about this game. So glad I kickstarted it back in the day.

Quick question, and I apologize if this has been brought up before: the rooster in the airship in the second village, is that a reference to Steelbeak and his airship in the Darkwing Duck NES game? Or am I reading too much into a minor side thing?
