Still that's some wicked kind of coincidence. Allways the same round since 1994? Damn...

Here's what I think... he was touched, so it was a penalty. He dived afterwards to make sure the reff called. Still a penalty tho.

It's not coincidence. It has become a blocking wall for mexican football. There's a lot of talk of "This time we will reach the 5th game". They are fixated on that

Obviously I'm depressed. But I'm proud of the way Mexico played. Last year, we were losing to teams like Honduras at home (No offense to Honduras but we shouldn't ever lose those games at home). The turnaround that Herrera has made on the Mexican team in only a few months is nothing short of incredible. Everyone was saying we wouldn't win a game and look how that turned out. I guess what really matters is that we went down fighting. Viva Mexico!

Aiii

So not worth it

It must take a lot of practice to fall like that, human instinct is to balance yourself, not throw your feet into the air. Some skill.

It was a penalty although the dive was too dramatic but this is football and these thing are sadly common... A shame though, after brazil even holland managed to get through in last minute

I think we should just stop talking about the penalty, because not one of us is going to go through the entire game and tally the amount of fouls not called on both sides. Its devastating the game had to end like that when it was so close to extra time, but Mexico was losing the ball way too much at the second half. It is what it is.

Then why did he avoid the first lunge and run to the byline instead of flopping? Ffs.

I couldn't tell you because I don't have an instinct for flopping. Robben, of course, does. But Robben also has excellent control of the ball, and he wouldn't have put in a heavy touch like that into 3 Mexican defenders if he didn't already have it in his mind to flop. Even had Marquez not made any contact with his foot, his action almost certainly would've been the same.

This changes nothing.

Lol you're allowed to step out of bounds as long as the ball stays in bounds. This isn't basketball. Amazing to see all these people commentating that don't even know the basic rules of the game.

He was joking m8.

It was a pen, he steped on his toes. I'm angry cause Mexico was the better team but Netherlands had Robben basically. It's always the same story with Mexico. Play better than expected, go to round of 16, play better than your oponnent and still lose because of stupid mistakes or relaxing. Fuck my life.

It was clear that Mexico had the initiative until they scored. For some reason, their coach subbed his star player/striker and completely gave it away. If they kept the pressure on they would have won easily. They can only blame themselves for that matter.
