Great, rain. Really happy they didn't play anything yesterday!

That "no play on sunday" rule is so ridiculous. Wimbledon should really reconsider some of its traditions. Its really dumb keeping it if you are turning your tournament schedule in a complete mess.

Genie needs to sort out her return. Its her best shot and she is gifting a lot of points to Cornet with those. Both playing well though.

Genie <3 Third Grand Slam QF in a row. She has a great future ahead of her.

But next up possibly yet another encounter with Maria. This sucks so much. I hate when they play each other. Wish they both could win. :(

Eugenie will prevail!

Dat Lisicki curse looming

She will lose to Shvedova.
I hope. ;-;

Knowing Lisicki, she'll probably have a harder time against her than she would against Halep or Sharapova.

Still, I reckon Lisicki will get to the semi final, and the winner of Lisicki vs Sharapova will win the Championship.

Keys withdrawl solidified no American woman making it past the 3rd round of Wimbledon for the first time in the Open era. So its not just the American men that are scrubby journeymen anymore.

It was but they opened it again, which is fair enough given that they try to keep it outdoors as much as possible.

How is that fair enough? You know what's more important than playing tennis outdoors? Playing tennis at all. Surely satellites will show the next immediate rainfall that's going to come down within the next hour, right?

It's England. There is always immediate rainfall.

I had a dream that Bouchard was playing Sharapova, and they went to a ridiculously long third set (double digits). Can't remember who won though.

Kvitova fave atm imo tbh

Interesting thought, though I can't say I agree. I mean, she's not looking as terrible as she has most of the last year (or two), but calling her the "favorite" is a stretch at this point, IMO.

Personally, I think these four women are the combo "faves" at the moment: Halep, Sharapova, Bouchard, Lisicki.

That said, Kvitova *almost* seems like a lock for the final given the (awful) condition of her half of the draw, while the four ladies above are going to have to claw their way to the final by climbing over the corpses of the rest of their half of the draw, so maybe I should reconsider what I just said :)

One more thing: I'm kind of shocked so many people want Lisicki to win. I wanted her to win last year, but then she became a bit full of herself and absolutely choked in the final. Also, she went on to do pretty much nothing at any other tournament for the next year.

So, although I probably won't cheer against her should she reach the final, I also can't say I'm hoping she makes it there.

EBAM is in complete control, I don't have to worry about this while watching the second have of France and Nigeria

Lisicki never has and probably never will do well at any other tournament. Her season basically starts at the Birmingham International and ends when she's out of Wimbledon. Grass is by far her best surface.

As for why people like her, well, for me it's the fact she's quite clearly loving every moment of playing tennis. She's always smiling on the court, no matter the situation. Add in her comeback from horrible injury story, and her tendency to take some huge scalps at Wimbledon, and it's hard not to like her.

Well, yes, of course grass is her best surface. I guess what I meant earlier is that there's no reason that she shouldn't do at least somewhat well on other surfaces, too. The fact that she and her coach(es) haven't been able to bring even a smidge of consistency to her game on other surfaces is beyond disappointing for me.

Other than that, though, I actually quite like her. I'm not going to root for her to get to the final, though, as I don't want to have to watch another choke-fest this year. I'd much rather see Bouchard or Halep get their maiden GS wins, or Sharapova get her 2nd Wimbledon title.

That's rough. Mayer was actually doing well in the tiebreak.

Edit: Another pitiful performance from Radwanska. She has no idea what to do with a good draw.
