Thank you America for this great game. This game was the football equivalent of Rocky I. Just stick with Klinsmann and his ideas and hopefully you'll get your Rocky IV ending in Russia 2018.

The US played better than I'm used to seeing for most of the tournament. It actually felt like we belonged.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the tournament, but it's a shame to not have the same emotional attachment to the rest of the teams.
 
Time to keep freedom alive for the rest of the Americas. Go Costa Rica and Argentina!

The only UEFA team I'll even support is Germany because Beer > all. :)
 
Wow ! Great game and congrats to Belgium, so happy we won !

But a big fucking thumbs up as well to the USA .. Man, you guys were great. Never stopping, always attacking. It would have been a lot easier to play the passive game and park the bus and gamble on penalties like so many of the 'weaker' teams do when up against a better team but not the US.. Kep fighting till the end. Nice one !

We will. Klinsmann was the biggest investment, and it's been paying off. I'm not sure if he's the ultimate coach for this team though. I think his game plans were too conservative. I think we were able to pressure opposing defenses very well when we played more forward. Of course, I understand the need to defend the counter, especially with our lack of individual talent. Ugh...frustrating but fun. US soccer gets better with each world cup. That's the most I can hope for. PEACE.
 
Man, that was one seriously tense game. Definitely the best one I've seen so far. Really happy we won.

The Americans had one hell of a goalkeeper though. Tell Obama to give that guy whatever he wants, make sure you keep him!
 
We, Argentina, played terrible this wc yet we won all matches so far. Because in the end, we are good. Come at us world.

The thing is, your asking him to play in a way that he's not used to playing. He isn't a creative midfielder nor an offensive minded one either. Completely misused by Klinsman me thinks.
 
This was probably the match with the most missed goal opportunities I have ever seen, holy shit. It should have been 10 - 6 or something crazy like that. Still a deserved win for Belgium. Gefeliciteerd, tot in de halve finale he!

Definitely rooting for Belgium. I'd like to think that the team they got beat by is one that advances far. And I don't know why but Argentina's fans really rub me the wrong way. At least they gave us that awesome gif from that one guy, I suppose.
 
Jones actually played well leading up to this match, but he was shockingly fucking awful today. Bradley had one great assist, but otherwise was mediocre (but still miles better than his previous dogshit performances). Beasley played fine, and our defenders did *OK* but holy SHIT how can they not see they'll just be beaten on the side if they're not anticipating it?

Frustrating overall, but yeah we didn't deserve to go through even though we did show heart at the end. Congrats again to the Belgians.
 
Kudos for the 2nd Extra time and for the fighting spirit but you guys allowed 27 TWENTY SEVEN shots on goal. USA did not play well, sorry.
