HDMI out on an iPhone 5 is rather good, keeps it's framerate up and looks rather nice on my 24" tv, I just need a controller.
Does this game support controllers? With HDMI out this is actually tempting...

I wish there was a demo. I'm really skeptical about the controls, and I don't want to get a controller for it.
I think I'll wait for a demo or a sale.
Use a controller
Boom now its just like the Vita version except online play is built in and the resolution is higher
Those things are way too expensive, no thanks![]()
Why does android get the short end of the stick for all games? Hasn't the android OS surpassed iOS in number of users already?
If and when this comes to andriod I will be getting it.
It's why I'll never switch to Android. Seems like Android is always lagging behind.
This port is brilliant. I did not expected this from Capcom.
Lagging behind when talking about a port of a 6 year old game xD
Well the port was outsourced and developed by Hexadrive.
What is wrong with Capcom? I don't know what to say anymore. They're porting the best MH to smartphones
What is wrong with Capcom? I don't know what to say anymore. They're porting the best MH to smartphones, instead of giving Sony and MS consoles a new installment.... or just MH4. I don't care about an MMO which is going to be available in Asia only anyway.
Please don't tell me this port has full online support.
For those who know the game already, where do you hand in 'a mushroom goldrush' ? I have the mushrooms but no npc anywhere on the map apart from an old guy who just gives you random items when you talk to him.
Great game but I wish some stuff was clearer to work out.
*edit* ok so you have to go to the item in your inventory, pick it and select deliver... that's weird.
I don't understand Capcom. If they were to release a MH with decent content, visuals and full online support to other consoles (WEST) too, not just on Nintendo, they would sale millions of copies. I'm pretty certain of that.
The lack of support for iPad2 makes me and my iPad have a very estranged relationship starting right now.![]()
It runs totally smooth on iPad 2. But you will have to buy it with iTunes on your PC and install it with iFunbox to bypass the restrictions.
Not in the west I'm afraid.I don't understand Capcom. If they were to release a MH with decent content, visuals and full online support to other consoles (WEST) too, not just on Nintendo, they would sale millions of copies. I'm pretty certain of that.

The problem is, the budget needed to have "decent" visuals for this game and the fact that the gameplay isn't mainstream means that the amount of copies they'd have to sell to make money would be more than a few million. And the sales of Japanese version couldn't help much to reach the stale's target do to how consoles are going over there.
They are already selling millions of copies and MH games are top notch. Did you miss the note?I don't understand Capcom. Looks pretty nice. Much better than the ugly PSP version.

You would think virtual controls couldn't possibly work for MH, but amazingly, it does work. The controls are leagues better than they were on the PSP, and arguably better than 3G on 3DS without frankeinstick (on iPad Mini at least). Of course, if you absolutely despise touch controls, I don't see how this would change your mind, but the way Capcom implemented the controls is genius. The only way to make it better is to allow manual placement of the buttons, but this is a small gripe.
Visually, it looks amazing too, and it runs smooth as butter (60 fps), which arguably makes this version the best portable version of Monster Hunter to date until the arrival of MH4 around here. I can't wait to play MHFU multiplayer for the first time.
One could say the same about the Souls series.Nah, the gameplay of MH is quite polarizing. It would be an uphill battle for it to become a big seller.
Runs like a dream on iPhone 5s or iPad Mini Retina.Fuck I'm gonna play the shit out of this when I get my iPad Mini back. It should run well, right? Is the game 30 or 60 fps?

Excellent! Odd that they didn't go with 60fps since the PS2 ran it at that framerate(?)...
Is this a good MH to start off with?
You never played Monster Hunter on Wii U? It has online and is pretty damn awesome
Looks like iOS players are getting the definitive vesion of MHFU, if you take away the awesome blood effects of the japanese 2nd G version. Full online support for this game is truly admirable and probably the best thing to implement. And if you manage to pair your phone with a DualShock... oh my. This sounds almost too good to be true.It does. It's the complete package and then some.
I'm all for a new installment for consoles though. Or at least MH4 with non shitty visuals.
Do you think so? I found the gameplay of MH to be rather simulative. It reminds me to Dark Souls' gameplay. Easy to learn but hard to master. No button mashing but well thought and placed strikes as well as analysis of enemy patterns are key. Also, both franchises are being well received in the west.Nah, the gameplay of MH is quite polarizing. It would be an uphill battle for it to become a big seller.
I'm aware of the fact that that MH is one of the top selling franchises in east. I'm just saying that, in my estimation, Capcom would sell considerably more copies if they were to release it on more western platforms than just Nintendo. They are already selling millions of copies and MH games are top notch. Did you miss the note?
As they have already said, if they were to do something different, it wouldn't be called Monster Hunter, but something else.
Maybe you should have bought Dragon's Dogma.
I'm still in the fence.
So the controls sound decent. But I'm currently playing through MH3U on Wii U, is there any point in starting another one? Maybe just because its portable?
This isn't going anywhere so there's reason not to beat MH3U first.
Anyways I wanted to try this to see how the controls work but for some reason my IPhone 4 runs it like a slideshow! Great!
