Again, it's only people not from the Americas still talking about this shit now. The CONCACAF fans must have touched some nerve.
... The guy he quoted was talking about UEFA being shit, how is it only fans not from the Americas? I always see people posting in this thread that UEFA is awful.

And yes, it does touch a nerve. I have been watching and enjoying the World Cup but every time I come into this thread there's some douchebag making it less about which teams play well or who is exciting to watch but 'Shit, where's the nearest country?'
Insert joke about American education system
and that's spoiling it for me.

Just my two cents.

Argentina is getting on my nerves. Their time wasting is getting obnoxious. Also ridiculous considering it's the first half.

The same game you are.

I saw much worse than what Messi got yesterday evening in the BRA vs COL game and there was no foul given.

And it was agreed upon by everyone watching (besides the ref) that there should have been fouls called.

What should've have been called in that game does not apply to this game

I agree. That did not deserve a free kick though. Every time Messi sneezes, there's either a booking or at least a free kick

You cray. He was kicked in the back or side of the leg at least three times, had his foot stepped on... yeah, it deserved a free kick.

I also think the several light contacts shouldn't necessarily have been a free kick, BUT you shouldn't use yesterday's refereeing as a metric for anything...EVER

Well, it's certainly a precedent, and thus a comparable.

Wasn't the prettiest refereeing, but that's FIFA's problem. Inconsistency.

Even in that case...you can't use the crass outliner as the basis. Yesterday WAS the inconsistency.
EDIT: Also, that's not how it works. At all.

If you think every instance of shitty referring can be used as a precedent to justify future decisions... then yeah, I see how your argument makes sense in your head, and how useless it is to try to convince you otherwise :)

Yesterday's officiating was bad, so let's make sure today's officiating is also bad. Otherwise it's inconsistent. Good logic there bruh.

Get your shit together, Belgium. Argentina is gonna take their sweet time and mostly fall back. Belgium must take risks for the equalizer before it's too late in 2nd half.

I have to say, ksharp's goal post moving is compelling.

First it's a dive.
Then Messi is waifish.
Then the officiating should be like yesterday.

What's next?

i don't know where you are from....but if you have a similar situation you might understand.

well at least for me, this situation is similar to my American Football team and it's division. For the longest time, we were made fun of...instead of NFC West...were called NFC Worst.

Well as some of our teams were getting better, I found myself rooting for other teams in my division, when they would play against the top teams...just to prove how tough our division actually was. And it would crack me up when teams in our division would beat these top teams, and their fans were left speechless.

so for a while, I rooted on teams like the Seahawks, Cardinals, and Rams....against top teams.

but now that all of these teams (besides Rams) are tough teams......there is no need to do so anymore, and I despise them once again.

I think the same will happen with CONCACAF, the better these countries get and more respected by the rest of the world...then the feeling will be similar to CONMEBOL or UEFA.

right now Africa has been in a similar situation for like forever....someone posted last week that heck no, African countries don't root for each other...and gave an example of how that wouldn't happen in UEFA.... TOTALLY different situation. From most of the African people I know, AND the example of the World Cup in 2010... African people still root for other African teams.... but that could change if many of the countries got much better, and they started to knock each other out of these tournaments. (don't laugh fucker)

One thing is cheering for the squads, and I'm completely ok with that (I am brazilian and I'm rooting for Argentina today)

But another is cheering for the continental confederation itself, who doesnt do a single crap beside collecting taxes from the national federations.

But the GAF bros already explained that that's the joke, so...lol :P

That's the exact logic utilised in court, btw.

Let's agree to disagree, shall we?
