'irresponsible' tourists destroy crystal-studded 'Van Gogh' chair by sitting on it

It isn't good that this happened. But I don't know what is special about that chair.

Tourist need to be respectful and not take funny pictures.

One one hand. This guy is a selfish idiot.
On the other hand. Im kidna glad he rid of the world of a "priceless piece of art" made from a cheap plastic chair and glas pieces glued to it....

Tourists gonna be tourists. I swear this is just status quo. Eventually one dummy comes around from wherever and ruins things.

Remember in 91 when an idiot attacked Michelangelo's David with a hammer? Unbelievable…

I always find it sad to go somewhere and every art is locked somehow but then you see stuff like this and it all makes sense.

This seems like bait. The chair is setup against a wall like somewhere you'd take a seat and at sitting height and not well blocked off.

Seems like it was designed to have this happen to become viral, it's a flashy gaudy chair like it's meant to get attention.

The chair exhibition could have used some sort of warning label for stupid tourists, although the fact it's likely the only such chair in the entire room would make it stand out all the more clearly. You'd think so! Either way, the couple might well be sued for damages. Perhaps they won't be, but it could happen.

A visitor to an Italian art gallery has been filmed damaging a valuable artwork adorned with crystals after sitting on it to take a photograph.

The incident occurred at Maffei Palace in Verona, where the tourist was captured on security cameras placing his full weight on the delicate exhibit.

The artwork buckled immediately under the man's weight, leaving the piece in a damaged state.

CCTV footage shows the visitor and a female companion approaching the unguarded exhibit before the destructive photo opportunity took place, with the pair quickly leaving the room after the damage occurred.
