Some of the percents that Roy can get a KO at is just ridiculous. And no way is Roy bad. Only characters I think are shit are Olimar and Toon Link, but the latter is much much better than Olimar.
This is how everyone posts in general regarding Mario Kart 8™.
Yeah, I was an Olimar main in vanilla Brawl... That was one of the fastest switches I've ever made.I don't even play PM and this makes me sad.
Haha, I wouldn't ever not play someone because of their character choices. Just get ready for a lot of ribbing.
*See my posting style in Mario Kart 8 thread being generally abrasive and rude as all hell despite loving everyone I play with and the community in general.![]()
Can't win them all, I guess. Those characters don't mean much to me, personally. IIRC Isn't there a big update coming out for PM, soon?
I really like that kind of comments in MK8 since it's so much fun to ribbing players over the internet.
Define soon?
Overall, I'm satisfied with P:M's balance so far. There isn't perfect equality, but pretty much everyone is fairly fun to use.
But he didn't actually put those characters into 64 and Melee. He put other characters first because he was being modest. And that's a pretty crazy thing to say about Namco, especially since there's never been a shortage of Kremlings in Smash. A Klaptrap-filled river has been in three of the four Smash games!!! Whaaaaaattttttt
I guess the point is, if Sakurai's reason for Ridley being a boss character every time is that he sees Ridley as only a boss character... weren't the "too big" people right all along? Also, Sakurai has been the opposite of stubborn this time around. Like half of the newcomers have a "I didn't think they would fit in Brawl, but I changed my mind" story. Villager, Mii, Pacman. Even Mac was determined to be playable material over Assist material. The guy changes his mind all the time.
Last I heard, at the earliest prior to the Wii U release...
lol
After years of suffering through his low tierness, it's feels good to have my old main Link finally be good in a Smash game. =P

We've already shown you that Sakurai had absolute control over everything in the game, not Namco. And you can speculate on why Ridley is never playable all you want, but you don't know for sure. It's entirely possible that Sakurai didn't include him because he thought he was best as a huge boss character, not a smaller playable one. It seems hypocritical to condemn the speculation from others when you're doing the exact same thing.Should have clarified. . .he was going to add those characters and was forced to leave them out because of technical difficulties and time constraints, not bullshit modesty. Even if we lie and say he left them out solely because of modesty, that doesn't even begin to make up for the excessive Kirby and Friends facetime in the SSE, or the overblown Kid Icarus representation through items and enemies this time around.
Yeah, you have Rare developing Jungle Japes for Melee (they were in charge of DK stages and DK's model back then IIRC), but Namco's more significant to me because, one, they have no obvious ties to DKC nor any obligation to represent it, and two, they focused on DKC content in an era where Nintendo EAD was calling the characters "not fresh enough for today's gamers" and doing all in their power to retcon them away with games like Jungle Beat. That's significant.
No, because "too big" isn't a blanket catch-all argument for all possible reasons Ridley could be excluded, it's an idiotic meme. Sakurai could recognize the possibility of making Ridley playable, yet decide against it because he'd rather focus on other characters, because he thinks Ridley isn't unique enough, because he thinks he'd make for a cool boss, etc. None of that has anything to do with "too big." His change of mind on those other characters can all be explained as Sakurai wanting to add in new series, since the absence of those was a big complaint of his with Brawl (how Pikmin was the only big new character-driven series at the time).
Anyone interested in playing some Project M with me?
Anyone interested in playing some Project M with me?
I'll play.
I'll be on tonight if you'll be on, still.
Anyone interested in playing some Project M with me?
This is possible to play with others even though Nintendo shut down their online service?
I'd be down. Not sure how I'll hold up against you lot, but I'm happy to find out!I'll probably be up for some games later this evening (6PM EST preferably) if anyone's still up for it.

It may be a lot less seriously-played out, but I'm pretty sure that happens in both Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, and Ridley's canonically stated to live (well, have lived) for war crimes like that. Plus, an atrocity such asmight be too much to put near Smash Bros., villain or not.rape
Did the project m team do anything to improve brawl's lag when playing online? I really like what I've played of project m, but my friends don't care too much about competitive smash brothers, so if the online is still as unplayable as it was I'm brawl, not sure if I wanna keep bothering to get good at it.
Didn't Sonic used to be OP as shit before they nerfed him through an update?Overall, I'm satisfied with P:M's balance so far. There isn't perfect equality, but pretty much everyone is fairly fun to use.

Kirby doesn't really have more facetime than other franchises though, the issue is just that his face time is often more plot relevant towards end game. That might come just from him working more with those characters and so feeling more "free" about what he could do with them in a story.Even if we lie and say he left them out solely because of modesty, that doesn't even begin to make up for the excessive Kirby and Friends facetime in the SSE, or the overblown Kid Icarus representation through items and enemies this time around.
When did the Smash thread turn into MGS spoilers.

Doesn't this completely contradict your idea that Ganondorf is a joke character? But there are two Links because both Link and Toon Link are important Nintendo characters, and Ganondorf is a Falcon clone in Brawl because Sakurai didn't want to alienate fans who used him in Melee. The Mother kids borrow moves because it allows for a more interesting moveset. None of that stuff has anything to do with Ridley.
Also, Sakurai is like the only person working at Nintendo right now who likes the Kremlings, so you better hope he sticks around.
Metroid Other M.But how can "waifu-filled" be used as a negative?
Assist Trophy for POTD on Monday.
Oh Yeah. That's tomorrow.
We have about 10 weeks before it get release in Japan. I presume that we should see more new stages soon, and hopefully few veterans. Hopefully Sakurai would show Palutena's Vanilla Moveset anytime soon but I doubt it.
Nope!Doesn't this completely contradict your idea that Ganondorf is a joke character?
So he basically failed at making a funny joke character and failed at not alienating Ganondorf mains.Nope!
Yeah, I really don't get this either, but it's a surprisingly prevalent sentiment. Do people really not understand how big of a franchise Kirby is? There have been Kirby games released at least every other year since 1992, and it had a fairly popular anime series. It's one of Nintendo's most valuable brands.Dedede and Metaknight deserve to be in Smash and have deserved to be in Smash since the beginning. There's nothing immodest or playing favorites with adding either of them.
So he basically failed at making a funny joke character and failed at not alienating Ganondorf mains.
Because he now sucks? How did he fail at not alienating Ganondorf mains? He still plays the same way.
So? Are you saying he alienated Kirby mains in Melee when Kirby sucked?Because he now sucks?
Yes, he probably did.So? Are you saying he alienated Kirby mains in Melee when Kirby sucked?
Just 10 more weeks![]()
Still dont know if its worth importing it.. I mean, its not like it wont be localized.
Btw, post #0.

really guys
Yes, he probably did.
But at least nobody's arguing he intentionally made Kirby horrible.
Bowser/Peach or Ganon seem like they should be in first.Yeah, I really don't get this either, but it's a surprisingly prevalent sentiment. How is that comparable to Kirby?Same here. I fear how people would react if we are getting one more Kid Icarus representative.
I really hate the idea that people in this thread some how act silly when the weekend comes.Indeed. Twelve hours until WeekendGAF dissipates into a distant memory.
