'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

Is the multiplayer worth getting PS+ for? Do I need a headset, too?

Cant wait to play this for the first time

Can't remember the names, but the "single-life round-based mode" was the closest thing to classic SOCOM, in recent memory, to me. I really dug it and look forward to playing it a bunch on PS4.

I say to you a trick. You can delete the game you play less to save space.

Very true, and very viable given the PS4's fast install times. I've got lots of space since I upped to a 1 TB at launch but if you're running now, just delete stuff you haven't played in ages. You can still retain your save files on disk and next time you pop the game in it will re-install itself, you'll be playing within 30-60 seconds anyway.

Dammit. Nothing like killing waves of monsters and trying to survive as long as you can. Seems perfect for it. Yet again I've never played the game so maybe its not.

It's not really a fast paced twitch shooter. An entire wave of enemies attacking at once would be problematic with the mechanics of the game. Taking on three enemies at once can be a challenge.

Can you set traps in the game? Single or multi. I'd think having a time to set traps first then deal with the rest would be cool.

I guess I should really play it first.

how long does it take to install 50GB off a disc?

Usually 20-30 mins in my experience. And you can almost always start playing after 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Downloading lets you play before it's fully downloaded but it seems to take much longer - it often needs to download 5-7 GB before you can play which can take 30 minutes to an hour depending on your connection

I think it could be cool if they made a horde style mode set in the period right as the outbreak was spreading and they made players play as the military trying to defeat the horde (lol). That way they could justify things like having a lot of ammunition and being better armored and armed to face mobs. Could be fun if they did that, but with the current game design of the single player/competitive (low ammunition, non regenerating health, encouraged to stealth/run) I don't think it would work as well, and I think its current game design is what defines it.

There's already a horde mode - it's *MAJOR STORY SPOILER*
When you play as Ellie right after meeting David and have to defend against all those monsters. MAN that part was hard for me.

Yeah, definitely the hardest sequence in the game for me. I haven't had the chance to play all the way through on Survivor or Grounded yet, so I can only imagine how difficult it would be on those difficulties as I thought it was pretty tough on hard.

Horde mode wouldn't work in this game and frankly doesn't need it. No Regan health, small amounts of health, only 5 types of enemies. How to make it more difficult apart from enemies do more damage?

Should put a story spoilers warning or something. A lot of people haven't played this, I'm sure some people will think there is a joke or something instead of a actual spoiler hiding.

That gif cracks me up lol

Where is it from exactly?

I'm always surprised about how unknown the multiplayer for this game seems to be. Everyone always talks about the single-player, rightfully so, but the multiplayer is amazing as well. Many don't seem to have tried it. I wasn't too happy about two trophies being tied to multiplayer but I'm sure it at least made some give it a chance and keep at it after they unlocked the trophies.

The only MP other than Counter-Strike that keeps me coming back. Extremely rewarding and well-designed.

Considering the fact that they never talked about MP until the weekend before the game release it's not too surprising. Everyone thought it would just be tacked on.

It was absolutely brutal for me on grounded.
I was letting them come into the first area so I could get ammo off their corpses and retrieve arrows, still ended up with 3 arrows and 2 rifle bullets going into the second part of the encounter. So many deaths. Eventually managed it by heading back into that rickety bridge/walkway after a certain point in the fight. Couldn't believe it when I finally dropped the bloater

Yeah, this and NHL and now Mario Kart are pretty much the only online games I've been playing consistently for some time. Brings me back to the COD2/4 GoW and Halo 3 days. There haven't been many recent online multi to hook me as much as I was back then.

True, I assumed the same

Did you complete it on Grounded? Just looked at the trophy and it's at 0.1% lol

Those trophies weren't hard to get, for me at least. Although I had a group of friends who played the MP religiously for months. I'm currently withholding myself from playing MP until the remastered comes out. I wanna go into it fresh all over again.

i'm excited to try it out, hopefully it has some legs on the PS4

hunter/firefly journeys and build clan to 40 people, i haven't really played much of the mp i think last time i looked i had around 30, the facebook integration there is amusing

Those can be difficult if you don't have people to help you, especially week 8 and forward. I got them easily as I played a lot with friends.

I had one of my clans up to around 120 at one point in the height of my addiction. I can't wait to get into it on PS4. It's going to be feeding time with all those new recruits out there who haven't played it before. I'm wondering if I can get my clan up to 150 or so in that first week when people don't know what they're doing :)

Don't forget about all the veterans like me who are getting it. We might cross paths.
