Romero has only given up three goals all tournament, and none so far in the knockout rounds. Given how awful everyone was saying the Argentine defense would be, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss his from consideration.

It doesn't matter, though, because Tim Howard deserved top keeper honors.

Now "Brazilian Podolski" became a meme. lol

Only Brazilias will understand this. lol

Something like: "Storing the bean in the ice cream pot".

Others:

"Podolski is so Brazilian that he changed his name to Podolski da Silva"

"Podolski is so Brazilian that he defeated Brazil so he can beat Argentina"

"Podolski is so Brazilian that he will be champion at home"

"Podolski is so Brazilian that he has Bolsa Família card (Government's social welfare program)"

"I'm so used to Brazil that I'm even watching soap operas"

you guys are not even using the proper word for ice cream.

sorbet = sorvete
ice cream = gelado

I don't recall Romero doing much in the competition tbh

Garay, Demichelis, Rojo, Zabaleta and Mascherano have done an exemplary job keeping him protected

Neuer is redefining the role of what a goalkeeper can be, and he's doing it without a hitch. He should win unless he pulls a Casillas in the final

Navas was extremely active throughout the Costa Rica Netherlands game (like Howard in the Belgium game) and almost got us to the semi finals. He probably had little energy by the time they reached penalties.

I give a little more credit to the goalies that were attacked almost nonstop and almost saved their teams.

The penalties were obviously key, but Romero's low score average is down to Argentina's defense which has been particularly good, if a bit quiet. Ochoa and Howard literally saved a dozen goals between them.

lol Romero

Replace him with Howard or Ochoa (who along with Navas all got 2 MOTM each) and it would have been perfect.

By the way, keep posting the ladies all you want, but keep the thread SFW. I can't believe how many times it has to be said. Is it really that hard?

Navas got MOTM 3 times.

Romero best keeper lol.
If you told me that he'd even be nominated during his az days I would have put you I a mental hospital.

In Brasil we dont use the word "gelado" for Ice Cream, if Im not mistaken thats used on spain and/or Argentina. And I never heard this "sorbet" word before, not even when I was living in england! :o
Am not saying it doesnt exist but I really didnt know that word.

I just hope Neymar doesn't win a pity Golden Ball, but I'm pretty confident he won't.

Golden Glove is going to Neuer. I'm kinda surprised Navas got in over Ochoa or Howard. Most of teams this tournament had weak defence but goalkeepers were amazing.

My votes:
Mueller
Depay- he has been decisive for the team as a sub in the Australia and Chile match, while also giving some great passes against CR which rvp failed to convert.
Neuer

Romero was garbage during qualifier matches, and he even barely played during this season. The defense as a whole was atrocious for Argentina it's pretty damn amazing that the defense was what got them into the final.

Sabella is either a genius to have turn it all around, or someone that travelled into the future and saw that guys like Rojo, Demichelis and Romero were going to kill it during the tournament.

I'm gonna be honest I didn't expect this argentine side to get this far, lets face it on names alone aside from the strikers the squad is pretty damn oridnary. I figured quarters was expected, and semis the ceiling for them. To me if they win it all comes down to Sabella.

the 2002 and 2006 squads were a lot better than this one, and none got to the final.

I wonder if people will be more upset if Brazil doesn't get third place, r if they don't care anymore.
I think the fact that they can't win the WC anymore is the most upsetting, so i don't think they care. Just like how the Dutch do 't really care. Though both teams will certainly not wan't to lose, so it could be an entertaining game.

I dont think many people really care for a 3rd place, but I do believe that Brasil will be more motivated then Holand for this match. Theres a repputation that they need to balance (since it will be impossible to restore right now).
