Playfire Rewards Discussion Thread

As much as I'm disappointed that the rewards for my bundle trash games are diminishing, I think it's a good thing to see the program to continue to evolve. And some vouchers that we can use with credit again will be very welcome.

If you have time and bandwidth to dl it, a lot of the Shogun 2 achievements are incredibly easy.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock Commander of Commoners - £0.10
Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock The Gathering Storm - £0.50
Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock Forged in the Hottest Flame - £0.50

from the main menu select multiplayer -> avatar conquest -> (skip tutorial) -> conquest map -> battle list -> host battle -> check classic battle

Here, put yourself in a team with 3 AI and only one AI on the other side. Click on the enemy AI's icon and right click all of their units to delete them. For your own army, use the Oda clan and at least 4 Oda Yari Ashigaru units and no cavalry. Now just start the game and put it on fast forward until your AI teammates defeat the enemy.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock Balanced Attacker - £0.25
Same thing, just make sure your army contains at least one of every unit type (sword infantry, cavalry, archer, matchlock, spear, naginata)

Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock Elusive Strike force - £0.50
Create a battle of you vs. one AI and only put a general and one other unit in your army. Select a map with a bit of forest like Koshinetsu ridge. Leave your general out in the open and walk your other unit into the forest until it is hidden. Wait 30 seconds, done.

All of these should only take a few minutes. I also managed to get

Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock Unnecessary Force - £0.10
Total War: SHOGUN 2 - unlock Redoubtable - £0.25

pretty easily.

And I still have no idea wtf I am doing in that game.

lol

Thanks for this, I'll have a try later. I looked at the cheevos and got intimidated.

Magicians & Looters is okay I suppose. The writing is amusing. The .10 reward doesn't take real long to get, just play through until you get the fireball with the guy, the door will open from the fireball, stand under it and wait for it to drop on you. Took me about a half hour but I chose to change characters and you can probably get there sooner if you don't. The .20 reward is to beat the game though, no idea how long that will take.

Aura Kingdom is up but doesn't show me as in-game even though I'm staring at the launcher. Hopefully it still counts since it shows up in my recently played list.

Well, they appear to be scanning my account three times a day now, which is nice. Unfortunately since that started, none of my achievements have shown up as tracked or rewarded. Oh Playfire, as soon as you fix something you break something else. But at least since they were scanned it seems more likely they will show up eventually.

My Divinity achievements aren't registering, nothing tracked since I started unlocking them Tuesday :(

I really don't want to write another support ticket.

Were the achievements added when it went from EA to full release? Because it looks like the usual playfire bug again where their database was not updated

https://www.playfire.com/game/divinity-original-sin-2/achievements

The game has no achievements there.
You'll probably have to send a ticket, like everyone else who wants Divinity rewards

It's baffling that they're still not checking this before adding rewards for games, it literally takes 30 seconds for each game (less if their site would load faster)

Yeahhh.. don't think I'm going to bother with it anymore. Doesn't seem worth it.

Seriously?! 10p?! I think that I'm out. It's a shame because just last night I was looking, with glee, at the £17 I'd accumulated and I was imagining using it for something like GTA, Arkham Knight or Beyond Earth.

There really should be guides that estimate how long or how far i need to go into the game to get each achievement. Need to know what to prioritize and the like.

If it is non-obvious, I normally look at the community guides (filter by achievement) and then the forums if there is nothing useful.

I think you will find most of it is covered.

Still better than nothing, but yeah, some of those Stealth Bastards ones especially would seem to take a lot of time.

Yeah, with the heavily slashed rewards and the still incredibly erratic tracking and crediting, the program really seems to have taken an even bigger dive. Though I guess if a lot of people quit using it, support responses should get faster, right?

Well, i got a response in 3 days compared to 3 weeks that some other people have posted. I didnt get the rewards, but I'll wait til monday to email back.

Well my achievement rewards started tracking again with the exception of the f2p games. Disappointing seeing nothing but .10s but it's better than nothing, and it's nice getting a couple of updates a day.

God, the rewards program is just sad now. Plus I still haven't heard a word out of support about the last batch of missing rewards since they first gave me their canned response weeks ago. Maybe the Steam sale rewards spoiled us all but it's been a really bad comedown.

Pretty telling that no one even bothered to post the new games for two days straight :/
I can see why we're come to this though, and am not surprised. I got 12€ with very little hassle, I can only imagine how much free money people made with a little more effort.

I still don't see what their plan with this could have possibly been. Chopping the rewards to virtually nothing is almost the same as getting rid of the program altogether, which if they do is an acknowledgement that it didn't work. The sponsorship from PCGamesN seems to be gone, maybe they were the primary source of money? Maybe they thought they could convince the publishers to sponsor rewards? The bad customer service during the program and reduction in vouchers certainly hasn't won them any new GMG customers. And they have to understand that there's no loyalty among bargain hunters.

The DS2 Season Pass is finally available on GMG. Probably gonna wait for a coupon that works with credit (lol) until the first content pack releases and then spend the last of my credit on that. After that I'm out.

Yeah, thanks for the info. Have been waiting for it to show up. I guess I will do the same.

Well GMG has great sales all the time so I'm sure we'll find a way to spend the credit. I do wish they'd bring back coupons stacking with credit though, even if it's only for pre-orders. That was always hands down the best deal available for any game before launch.

Some people have gotten banned from the program for using saves to quickly unlock achievements. Use at your own risk.

That said, it only takes 3-4 hours to play through and get almost all of the achievements, and the game is quite good and well worth playing.

I did not know that (i know SAM can cause a ban)

I will be more careful in the future :)

Basically any suspicious activity can flag you. As using a pre-existing save can lead to a bunch of achievements unlocking all at once with a very limited amount of play time, that can result in a ban. Not worth the risk, especially considering the reduction in award amounts.

GMG now has DS2 Season Pass. Current vouchers don't allow credit use. Is it possible that there will be vouchers again that allow credit use?

It's possible, but it will probably be for a lower percent. Conversely, it's also possible they will put even tighter restrictions on credit. No one really knows at this point. Personally, if it's something you know you want, I'd just get it.
