Playfire Rewards Discussion Thread

If you did the Battleblock achievements a few weeks back, you may have a few heads/hats that are worth a tiny bit. I sold one for 2.25 last night, and another for .45.

How fast can the Rogue Legacy rewards be done?

The first achievement should be pretty easy to get--you just need to wait until the game gives you the option of a hero with no traits. As for the other two, it's not clear to me that I can do them, and I've put in eight hours so far (not recently, just since I bought it). Bibliophilia requires that you read all 24 journal entries, for example, and even if they were all somehow readable in the castle (this part I'm not sure about), they appear semi-randomly so you'd have to grind for library rooms until you read every entry.

Barophobia I'm definitely never getting, based on how quickly I've been earning upgrades (read: not very).

Only had left one cheevo in Tomb Raider and Surgeon Sim (Go for the optics is super easy!). Also I'm missing Cute Loot in BL2, I hope this one is easy as well. Apart from that I'll go for Gone Home first time and try to get some of the MGR ones.

If you're over 8 hours in, you've probably gotten 15-20 of the entries already, though it is luck. You just have to randomly find the journal (and read it) 25 times, there's no duplication. Upgrades start to come a lot faster as you get stronger and better at the game, and if you focus on unlocking it, getting to the special class isn't too bad. Certainly not worth farming for Playfire money, but very doable if you're as addicted to it as I was. At 8 hours I'd bet you can get the last two Playfire ones within another 4-5 hours. Looking at my achievements, I had those within 5 days of starting playing, and 4 days before I got the achievement for beating the game once.

Cute Loot is random and in 78 hours played I don't have it done, but I think there's certain locations you can farm to get it that I just never messed with.

The companion app now has links to Steam and GMG. Cool!

I think I'll hold off on starting Transformers until it gets a reward set hopefully. If you could hint one way or the other Radmonkey, that would be helpful.

Been looking like all of this and next week's Playfire rewards are going to be based on the Daily Deals. I bet on Rogue Legacy being a reward today and won out :)

Has anyone give surgeon simulator 2013 a stab?
Yeah, those are easy! I already played the game before and fired it up for the optics cheevo yesterday, playtime says 97mins but I'm sure they can be done quicker.
I can't control the fucking game so I give up.
No idea why so many people say the controls are hard. I think the finger layout is quite intuitive. Takes some getting used to but after you made the key=finger connection, it works surprisingly well (for me atleast).

I have to beat the second level, before I can do the £0.5 reward achievement. I tried it yesterday, and I cannot beat it :(. Watching walkthrough videos doesn't help either. I suck at this game

I never liked Bastion, but on the plus side I don't have those achievements. How hard/easy are they to get?

Bastion - unlock Pet Sitter - £0.25 Get four different domesticated creatures in the Bastion
Bastion - unlock Vigilante - £0.50 Complete at least 50 percent of the Vigils in the Memorial

Same problem here. I can do the heart surgery, but the kidney one made me uninstall the game. It was a funny game, though.

Took me two hours of pain to get the Surgeon Simulator achievements. After suffering through that first hour learning how to play it, there was no way I was quitting until I had them all done. I just had to keep reminding myself that I knew what I was getting into when I started.

Re: surgeon simulator, I'm not going to do the optics one. I've only cleared the first surgery lol.

I guess I'll work on Battleblock. And Bastion... I'm still like 5 mind into the game.

Honestly I found the heart one much harder than the kidney one, just watch a playthrough to see the spots on the intestines to cut. As soon as you do that it only takes a couple minutes to do the optics achievement.

I made a level where you kill cats en masse, but I can't get the acheev.

I can't even beat the first surgery. I get as far as opening the chest cavity and then idk what to do. Attempting to cut the heart out and replace it does not seem to work for me.

Really wish World of Goo had steam cloud, my home computer save was on world five and I really don't feel like redoing all that. Getting to the .25 reward wasn't too bad though.

I had to watch the videos under guides to figure out what I was doing. Basically pull all the organs out by hand, cut the stomach loose at the top and bottom, then cut both the top vein and artery at the top of the heart and pull it out. Of course, that's all easier said than done. Stab with the green syringe if the blood loss rate goes up too high.

I'm loving Surgeon Simulator even though I played it for half an hour and I probably won't be playing it again after getting the achievements (I'll definitely get those, it's my "challenge accepted"). Always loved games with crazy control schemes, they're fun and engaging.

The Metal Slug 3 achievements look super easy. Two are stuff you can easily grind and the third you just need to get hit by a yeti's projectile in the second mission.

Late edit (wow this thread not moving at all today): Getting the .50 achievement "A Fistful of Dust" in Endless Space is pretty easy, just keep creating new games over and over until it offers you him at the beginning of the game. The guy you want is Skuoi Kyryi, a picture of him is here: http://endlessspace.wikia.com/wiki/Hero_List#Endless

It's certainly unique. I can't say I hated it, because it is what it is and it makes no pretense of being anything else. If anything my biggest complaint is what you need to do is often pretty obscure and I didn't like having to watch walkthroughs instead of being able to figure it out myself easier. Fighting with the controls was bad enough. But I can't say I'll ever go back to it unless I'm really drunk and have a crowd watching.

Anyone not able to unlock the Jail Breaker (Free 50 prisoners) achievement in Battleblock Theatre? I have 51 unlocked at the moment but the achievement didn't go off.

edit: according to dev post in the forums, the achievement is linked to your Steam inventory so if you have the same problem, try freeing more prisoners later in off peak hours.

You should definitely play until you finish the first page of surgeries (three in total). Just enough of a taste to see where the game is going.

Quick heads up for the .25 and .50 Battleblock Theatre ones: Just plug in a second controller, go into VS arena mode and kill your second players as often as you need. 5 gems per round + X kills for the Deadly Performer achievements (just unlocked it, need a few more gems for the Prisoner cheevo). Two XOne controllers work btw, just tested this. Sweet.

Going for Shock and Awe in Amalur and I really wish it let you know how many ability kills you have. I swear I must have hit 100 by now.

I got it around two hours in once I hit the dungeon called Dellach or something. Tried to kill everything with the lightning bolt up to that point and did a handful of sidequests.

Nice, I'll do this later today

Did yesterday the brutal legend ones, seems its not activating.
Had no problem with the south park ones and it updated them quite fast.

Your account gets scanned and updated at most once per day, actually slightly less often than that. It will generally be a minimum of 36-48 hours before things are tracked and credited.

Surgeon Simulator was so dumb in the best way. Getting Socialized Medicine was pretty fun. And then Go For the Optics was just hilarious. You can get Go For the Optics in the second surgery btw.

How do you get it in the second one? :O

Socialized Medicine is especially fun when you're busy re-learning how the hell you're supposed to play this game because oh my god. It was super intense.

Anyone have any idea how hard the Banner Saga achievements are? Just picked it up on the Steam Sale
If you are going for the Diplomat achievement, you could miss it if you make the wrong choice in one town. Also it doesn't unlock until you have finished the game.

If I remember correctly, the other two unlock as you play through the game.

Edit: I remembered. Bowmaster is also missable.

Awesome thanks. Now just to decide if I want to blow through it for Playfire moneys or play this game at my leisure lol
