Appreciate cleavage = weird?

Sorry for taking this offtopic but I dont understand.
What's to understand about it kinda being a shitty trope to ruin realistic armor with a shameless boob window? The boys don't often have their armor compromised such :)

I see you've now an accomplice in playing stupid. Make that two.

You're quite clearly one of those weird deviant men who like tits.

You should be locked up along with those males who like a "nice firm behind". No place in normal society for people like you.

Halo 2 had the best glitches.
This person right here gets it. Rocket glitch? Super jumps? Oh baby. I miss you. BABY COME BACK. YOU CAN BLAME IT ALL ON MEEEEEEE.

I think ODST was probably the best campaign. AlthoughH3 might be better. The multi in Halo 3 was soooooo good though. So many good times with gaffers. Those were the days!!

There's nothing weird about enjoying opposite sex features but saying so in a public forum will usually get you negative responses because nobody wants to look like a pervert. I mean my friend in a video game forum she frequents is just the common video game girl. But in steam you don't even want to know. Her avatars are like all asses of men in video games. Nathan Drake? Never the same. Forever unclean.

Probably a combination of armor or something else (something to do with the Traveler's light, I think).

I tried to tell people in this thread that the level being displayed wasn't a higher level-cap than 20, but people weren't believing me. :(

The gist of it: Level 20 is the soft cap, but you gain levels beyond that depending on the total "Light" you have across all armor. The theory going around is that +13 Light = 1 Level. Example:

This is all speculation though. Nothing has been confirmed.

You be quiet and accept any time female bodies are displayed, it is gratuitous, designed to objectify women and cater to male sexual fantasy. PERIOD. There is no way to display cleavage and maintain a sexy/classy/enigmatic persona*.

*or so they would have you believe.

Really? Female Guardians are going out into the unknown. No self-respecting women would wear armor that shows off cleavage like that – it doesn't make any goddamn sense. Women aren't object to be looked at, so there's no reason to design the armor like that.

It's stupid. That's probably why Bungie got rid of it.

? what..

Also if a female character had their cleavage on show, I'm just gonna say this, ONE SHOT with a sniper, they dead. it's impracticable... it'd be like dudes with their dicks on show....

I will never play Uncharted the same because I know that whenever he's running that's her avatar. As in entirely focused on his butt.

Think Tina from Bob's Burgers. Robots? NO. Robutts.

Edit oh if you're talking about the forever unclean part that's a line of The League from FX don't pay too much attention to it.

So what then do we think is the reason for having the levels boosted higher than 20? Will there be loot that requires level 20+? Otherwise it's really just cosmetic as the numbers won't serve a purpose.

It might be like how it was in FFXI, once you hit the lvl cap (lvl 75 back then) you could continue to gain experience to gain ''merit points'' which were points you could allot to increase certain skills and lower cooldowns.

So it might be a bit like that.

I'd love that sort of system. Any added ways to customize your skills and differentiate yourself from other players of the same class would be amazing. It would make the game last infinitely longer for me if I was constantly able to tweak and improve my character even after hitting the level cap.

Plus it would make no sense in a lot of the areas...I wonder what would happen to my Human Hunter's awesome exposed rack on the moon's surface..I suppose they could make clear "boob windows" built into the armour..but that's beyond rediculous.

Realism argument? If you want to pick apart realism vs unrealistic aspects of the video game, I believe the outcome would heavily weigh in favor of the latter. I don't know how to quote a previous post by someone, but I remember you arguing realism wasn't a valid reason for Hip-Firing being less accurate. Seems you are arguing both for and against realism when it suits you.

Edit: I went back and looked, the discussion is on p.21 of the Destiny Alpha Withdrawal thread (last post on page). Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but arguing against cleavage because it is "unrealistic", then invalidating realism regarding ADS (in the same game, no less) is hypocritical.

One has to do with gameplay, the other has to do with seeing my gender being respected.

There's no contradiction here.

Ok I think I sort of understand how that works. Makes sense to do it that way and keep earning points. Can't wait for Bungie to release the manual online. Gonna have to read that sucker from digital cover to digital cover.

Yes, there's Gear that requires level 20. Crucible gear, Exotic gear from the Speaker, etc. Ok, now i'm really out of here. Need some sleep.

OK goodnight kind sir. We'll keep the thread nice and warm for you in your stead.

Yeah i really hope it is something like that, it would be a bummer if any number higher than 20 is just to show off how awesome your gear is (like WoW item levels).

boob armor is stupid

if you want to oogle digital women in video games, you need to get out more

just because this is an mmo doesn't give you a free pass to oversexualized female designs

bungie has a hit on their hands and tons of gamers are women. they can choose to respect them and make money or ignore them and lose a huge marketshare. there is a new anime porn game on steam if that's more your vibe, keep that shit outta destiny.

You should be locked up along with those males who like a "nice firm behind".

and firm butts are gross

Do you see me arguing against sexy man bulges? Nope. If that appeals to women and men, go for it. It's a fantasy game. Fantasy.

both are male power fantasies

Exactly; if getting higher numbers isn't for/from something functional beyond "oh, I found better gear", then I don't give a damn. Get that e-peen shit out of here.

That ignores the issue I brought up, but okay. Just because it's fantasy doesn't mean women need to be sexualized, and either way they're both male fantasies.

I thought the Traveler's power normalized the planets' and moon's atmospheres for human inhabitants? Mercury is a garden world for instance.

Its been a while since I was excited about a game, think last time this happened I camped out for the Halo 2 release.

The last time I wanted to immerse myself this completely into a game world was Guild Wars 2. Unfortunately that didn't turn out so well. Even now I still like the game, but it's not really pulling me in and almost never did even when I was playing it religiously.

Hopefully Destiny's world and lore are more interesting. The gameplay already is more fun than I had in Guild Wars 2, and this is just with the few number of toys I got to play with in the Alpha.

What's the pro cleavage stance? What's the point? Armor protects the chest. Jiggly boob town would be there for what reason?

yeah, I really hope it meets my expectations, I am not very interested in the PVP, straight up PVE for me.

Isn't that the point of the beta? What's going to happen on September 9th when everyone stars playing their retail preload?

No, that's not the point of the beta. You don't learn anything from letting everyone smash the authentication servers at the same time. No reasonable amount of hardware can handle that.

You have to remember that not everyone will be playing Digital at launch, while potentially every single Pre-order (and two of their friends) will be playing the Beta Digitally. There's a much higher amount of players that will be trying to log in at once for this Beta test. At launch only the Digital Pre-orders will be logging in at once (having been Pre-loaded) and depending on how they do it, they will either log in in stages (if the unlock is midnight local to the player) or it will be after players with physical copies have already logged in (midnight local releases from Brick and Mortar stores).

Why is everyone arguing a moot point anyways?

The designs are done. There will be no cleavage, abs, or bulges in this game. Move on to a less useless topic.

My fantasy, as a woman, is armor that looks like it could stop a bullet. You know, function.

Again, who is arguing against what you want? My fantasy is choice. Real, honest to goodness choice. That's one of the appealing parts of WoW. If I want to be decked out from head to toe in gear, I can. If I want my guy to run a raid with nothing but a thong, I can do that too. I also have no problem with women taking issue when the fantasy is unfairly slanted towards the male gamer. If you're going to add sex appeal, try to make something for everyone.
