New Assassin's Creed Unity: "Revolution gameplay" trailer

Might just call it a launch trailer with all those press quotes.

This is a bit off topic but do we know if there's an AC game coming out on old gen this year still?

Regardless, keen to see how Unity turns out. It has potential to change things up the most, I hope.

It sure is pretty, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't muster up excitement for yet another Assassin's Creed. Too much yearly milkage of the same old thing has ruined my taste for it. Black Flag and it's open world at sea being the exception.

Not liking the violence of the game. How it's presented on the "historical" video is much more tasteful and ubi-like in my opinion. I know French Revolution kinda was that way but they're overplaying it too much for me. Barely tolerable.

I also think downwards parkout is dumb looking, way too fantastic for the overall tone of the game. But I´m sure it makes the game better. Well, I gess rather.

I thought the same.

I thought the same. "Is it out already??"

That being said, I'm excited for a true "next" gen experience in a proper cityscape for AC. The ships were ok, but it felt out of spirit to me. If Unity doesn't return me to the feeling of Ezio's games, I may finally be done with the series.

Might just be me but it doesn't look as clean as Black Flag (might just be the fabric on his clothing lol).
Looks good though (already got it pre-ordered).

There's some rumors and website listings about a game called AC Comet, and Ubi said they'd take care of las gen soon or something. Looks like a Black Flag sequel.

Kinda ? French revolution was a blood bath for both sides.

What was the last Assassin's Creed game where the creed "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" was uttered. The lore is now gone, now it just location and time period hoping. It's one of the reasons I can't wait The Order: 1886

The French Revolution was pretty bloody for everyone involved, and even some that weren't really involved.

AC4 I believe. AC3 and Liberation didn't have it, but every other game did.

Barring just the running animation (which reminds me of Watch_Dogs) every other animation of Arno looks really life-like. Have they changed their animation system or what?

I really enjoyed Black Flag so I'm excited, especially with this being only for the current gen.

I like the new movement down the buildings. Makes a little more sense than having hay everywhere.

That's one of the laziest Asscreed trailers I've seen.

edit: Oh it's just something they whipped up for Bastille day.

You know, looking at this and other several next-gen games, seems game devs reached an animation plateau last generation.

But how do we know if that footage is in-game or not? :( It's so hard to trust in Ubisoft trailers this days... Super awesome if all of that is in-game tough, some beautiful lighting going on. The gameplay, It looks more of the same on AC wich is... good. I guess.

I added an even better version of the gameplay trailer, with English voices.
Also, a new screenshot (downsampled from a much higher resolution, you know the drill):

Well crap. I promised myself not to pick this up on launch but I can't resist Paris and the French Revolution. Well played Ubi.

honestly think they over saturated this brand, just looking at the trailer seems exhausting and the same repetitive stuff of the previous games

a break from the franchise might do wonders for it i think

Graphics are really surprisingly good, the game really benefits from next-gen only.
Setting alone makes me hard.
I only hope that gameplay is similarly solid (especially stealth) and the MC to be likeable.

But allot of people do want it and those people who want a break....can just take the break. I don't see why they have to stop making the games for the people who want it.

When you cut out the cross gen crap the benefits are obvious.
This looks like the only next gen conceived game of the upcoming holiday season (this and maybe Driveclub).

I'll buy if will be good with a new combat system. After WD i promised to myself to never buy again an ubi game at launch. I'm tired to see 500 missions of nothing without a decent main campaign. & I'm not want too see another shit story like WD. So disgusting.
