New Assassin's Creed Unity: "Revolution gameplay" trailer

Graphically, it looks fantastic, there's no denying that. I'm also liking the tweaks they're making to the stealth gameplay and animations. The lack of authenticity for the main character's voice still drives me nuts however, even if it's not that big of a deal in the long run.

Overall, I'm pretty hyped for this one. Those quotes are hilarious though.

I really like how the indoor parts of buildings finally seem to be integrated into the open world. Previously you'd only be inside during separately loaded sections or during canned animations as you run through shortcuts.

Jumping directly into a window to shank two guards looks super cool.

I'm excited. I love all the AC games (some more than others), but they are always fun and enjoyable for me. This one looks great.

Looks boring as all AC games but AC4.
Probably the retail game won't look as good too. At least on consoles or without some mods in the case of PC.

I'm hoping that they'll have a ton of NPC's, more enemies, & bigger worlds due to tons of more RAM available. I like the challenge that way.

I think it's interesting that they used different press quotes in the UK and US trailer.
UK on the left, US on the right.

Maybe their marketing has determined that US consumers respond better to one-word soundbites about graphics.

Well, Eurogamer, VG247 and FHM are based in the UK while GameSpot, Game Informer and Newsarama are based in the US.

I'm probably in the minority that isn't bothered by the lack of accents. If they're not actually speaking in French, I don't see why Pythonesque French accents are needed or why British accents are "immersion breaking".

I've always felt the same way about films and games.
It's more like an amusing tradition for me rather than "immersion breaking" or what-not.

Dear Ubi,

Please don't fuck this up.

Please don't fuck this up.

Please don't fuck this up.

Bring the game you brought to the table for AC2 and Brotherhood.

Was AC3 great? I haven't played it, but I liked 2

AC3 was an abominable piece of shit.

I'm pretty hype for this game. Seems great, although I do hope they tone it down a bit with the collect-a-thon business, since that stuff only artificially inflates the lifetime of the game. I rather they make the game replayable on its own merits.

Even as a big AC fan though, the next current-gen AC game probably needs to switch historical settings. Between AC3, Liberation, 4, Unity (and if it exists, Comet), that will be at least 5 ACs in the Colonial Era. Come on Ubi, don't burn us out on that time period!

Options>Dialog>French. FIXED!!

Looks good!

However, when will we see AI/NPC's that have reactive faces. There are two parts in the trailer where the guards are being surprised but instead of a surprised face, we get this..

it kinda makes the shot look like ass...

That face... it stares into my soul...

it looks and sounnds like it could be the best in the series, i hope they bring the goods.

I wonder if they can actually make the game difficult through gameplay mechanics rather than enforcing arbitrary insta-fail conditions.

Still looks like AssCreed. Still blows my mind that people can watch it and forget that it still looks exactly like the last 5 AssCreed games.

Interesting, so it sounds like the Templars are going to be portrayed as pulling the strings of both political parties and perpetuating the Terror. This could lead to both factions being targets and enemies. I'm still curious to see how far this game is going to go. They could easily have the story parallel to Napoleon's rise and eventual rule. Though I could also see them saving the Napoleonic era for DLC or a sequel game.

Looks great. Assassin's Creed has always been one of my favorite series just from the great historical settings alone. This French Revolution setting has me seriously excited...

It's probably not implemented yet. AC3 had facial reactions on the NPCs.

So I think I read they're going to do something along the lines of the Homestead minigame in AC3? That was a really great idea, really badly executed. If they can give it another go and have good interface design and an enjoyable, actually rewarding gameplay loop it could add a lot of substance to the main game.

Skill trees has me intrigued. Wonder what the stealth skill tree will be like? I always found it strange that stealth was so underused in a game about an Assassin. Anyways I really enjoyed AC4 so I'm definitely grabbing this.
