New Assassin's Creed Unity: "Revolution gameplay" trailer

I think I'm done with assassin's creed and ubisoft, I enjoyed a lot AC II and AC IV, but the formula has reached its peak IMHO, Watch Dogs ended up being the last ubi game for me.

Yeah.

Sad to see what vg247 has become, that site is like a tabloid rag now.

I do not know, GAF.

The graphics are absolutely phenomenal but Black Flag cut the flow in a perfect manner with the boat and land missions.

This just looks like another AC3.

Black Flag worked because it had two main characters: Edward and the Jackdaw.

When you got tired of one, you could switch to the other for a change of pace.

For the first 15-20 seconds I said to myself "ugh, it's not gameplay if it's CGI"

When I realized it was in game, I got pretty ready to play this game.

And then I remembered this PC version will suck =(

This really just makes me want to play Black Flag again. I played it on PS3 and loved it, but think I am going to pick it up for my new Xbox One in order to experience it with that extra boost.

ehh, some Assassin's Creed trailers have given me the chills because they are so awesome, but these ones did nothing.

also does anyone else think E3 awards and advertising how many your game got is silly as hell? who's impressed by them?

:lol

But I mean at least with Ezio they gave him a fake Italian accent, they aren't even bothering anymore.

Thank god, i wouldn't be able to stand a 30+ hrs game with the MC, and everyone else i guess, sporting a, probably fake, french accent.

I'll still play it in french for full immersion effect.

There's a reason why the guy sounds English and not French at all right?...

The Animus, yes. How stupid is that thing? So stupid.

It is weird. I mean, Arno was born to an Austrian mother and French father and was raised in Versailles so he should at least have some sort of an accent not posh English like he is.

There's a typo in the escapist quote.

Haha... (a couple of the quotes make zero sense)

I don't know if I can trust all those "awards" and "reviews" since they're coming from the same people who thought 3 and 4 were forward steps in the franchise.

I still firmly believe the Animus shit should never have been in the series. I know some people like it but I would much prefer the series without it

I liked the Desmond storyline, and when you started to be able to play as him in 2 and brotherhood it was pretty cool. Revelations was weird, but at least it felt short.

But then we regressed back to AC1 level of boring in Black Flag where you just walk around, I wonder why they insist on keeping that pretext up throughout the game?

Stick someone in the animus at the beginning and show them pulling them out at the end, give us cutscenes in between sequences if you must, but stop making us play boring present-day sequences that break the hell out of the pacing of the game.

Looks good. It's a slight guilty pleasure to love AC but I can't help it. Hopefully this character is a return of "Ezio". I wish his voice was more authentic French so I can fall in love again. Connor and Edward is not doing it for me.

They showed off the map of Paris, which is good and all, but I really hope they don't squander the opportunity of letting us run around Versailles. Maybe it could be like AC3, where roads lead out of Paris, one of them to the village and then palace...?

Really, really looking forward to it!

Everyone in the game will have a standard English accent, they're dropping the dialect precedent and going for the Hollywood approach.

Delay confirmed!

I wonder How will this perform in my new GTX 780.

Well let me check with my Ubisoft PC optimization guy

28fps on high, 16 on ultra. It's the best I can do. If you wanna throw in the SLI Titans then we'll start talking in the range of 40-50fps.

In 720p. If you want full 1080p or higher you'll need quad Titan Blacks.

Game looks to be in the right direction. Same old Assassin Creed but with a new gameplay mechanic for climbing, fighting, stealth etc.

Best not to get hyped over their trailers though.

nah, I have an i5 2500K OC'd to 4.3GHz, I don-t know if that's beastly enough...

did it handle AC4 well? How about AC3 boston?

but this seems like its on a different engine than AC3-4... so its pretty much a coin flip if it runs fine or less than fine like watch_dogs.

Well, I really wanted to get more FPS today, I was looking for 60fps but at the end of the day I got medium settings on 1080 so that's what matters. Also, I found some E3 shaders and effects in the games guts so overall I'm doing pretty well.

I thought Boston was shit even in the most high end machines?

Anyway, it was between the 30-50 fps with everything maxed in boston and between 40-50 fps the rest of the game, I had a Sapphire 7850 at the time.

I played Black Flag and Watch Dogs on PS4.

I added an even better version of the gameplay trailer, with English voices.
Also, a new screenshot (downsampled from a much higher resolution, you know the drill):

If the final version of the game looks like that, first thing I'm doing is working on a free camera. AnvilNext is pretty easy in that regard.

I suspect there's some touching up to that screenshot though. Can't trust any pre-release shots of AC games these days....

But how do we know if that footage is in-game or not? :( It's so hard to trust in Ubisoft trailers this days...
Well there were no obnoxious white outlines around enemies he was attacking so I call BS!

Annoying how they always disable that for their trailers but don't give us a way to disable it in-game :(

I hope the French voices will be good, because I will not play French revolution and AC in Paris with that terrible English voice. And I hope the character is Ezio-good.

I don't see the resemblance with AC3. ACU is back in Europe, back in a proper city, hopefully with a character that's actually interesting (can't be much worse than Connor...). If anything, this is much closer to the Ezio trilogy than AC3 or AC4...

Looks good, but the setting doesn't appeal to me a whole lot. Unless they go full-on Egyptian, I'll be happy with AC4's pirate theme.

I'd like this to be the best one yet but it still looks way, way too simple.

Need to see more gameplay, and major changes to the underlying formula (precision movements, combat difficulty and depth, stealth reworks), but even then it'll be super rehearsed. Cautiously optimistic but this isn't a day one buy.
