So here's the real question. If the Gematsu leak is no longer a guaranteed list of the remaining newcomers, does that mean Jesse still has a chance?

That seems to be my guess as well. X and Y Pokemon especially leads me to believe early info. I have no emotional investment in this leak and I was hoping to high heaven they weren't the only ones left or it would be wrong in favor of Ridley or Dixie. But it seems pretty clear to me the leaker knew something but it was from info given really early or in a very 2nd, 3rd, or 4th hand kind of way.
Chrom being the initial new guy makes sense and the changed later on. Years from now we will know the truth with development interviews.

And we know nothing of what Dark Pit is to Smash 4 outside of knowing it's something significant. He could very well be a boss character.

Mii fighters are Smash's use of Miis so it makes sense for them to have the Smash logo. But Mii Quest has its own logo and the Tomodachi Life stage may have its own stage so Mii's will technically have more logos than anyone else.

1. Falco in Melee was identical to fox in nearly every way. Pichu was too, so much was borrowed from Pikachu, he even has certain animations that are glitched.
2. How do you know they're identical from 5 seconds of footage? We know she's a clone from that footage, but you can't pull any other info from it.
He was going to riposte her ass, but then Robin had to be like the second Bell Gargoyle and ruin the fun

At this point I'd say the Palutena trailer was heavy foreshadowing. He'll be another clone.
You were the one just jumping to conclusions about her moves.
They could easily have different speed, hitboxes, different custom move options, etc. but you say she's the same as Marth.

I can see her moves with my own eyes. We can't see the select screen. It's ridiculous to say that there's no way she's an alt costume, especially when there's plenty of reason to think so. It could go either way.

I'd just like to know why it's such a preposterous statement to make that Lucina might potentially be an ascended alt after Sakurai has hinted at something like that happening with the last big newcomer reveal video (Palutena's) ending with the appearance and tease of Dark Pit joining in.
I'm cool if she's her own character slot or not, but with her sharing so much of Marth's move pool already (in a way more blatant than any clone character before), it begs the question to be asked. If I'm to be harangued for it though, I may as well say nothing.

So, if we're getting two more reveal trailers (let's just say Shulk and Chorus Kids for old times sake) I hope we get the last two of the original twelve revealed. Ness in the Shulk trailer and Jigglypuff in the Chorus Kids (which, c'mon, that would be too perfect).
No, they can, they just don't appear in cutscenes and don't have the side conversations other characters get (which, to me, is a really big part of the game).

I'm pretty sure Lucina had a move where she threw out multiple stabs, like a faster Link jab in Project M. Marth has nothing compared to that right now
