PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Hey did that rumor of a parappa the rapper game ever come out?

Are you asking if it was announced or if the rumor was made public? There was a GAF thread on it last year (IIRC, it was supposed to be Queasy + Media Molecule's tech) and
in
Famous Mortimer backed it up. It hasn't been announced.

When Shawn Layden kept going on about Vib Ribbon, I honestly thought it was gonna be a lead-in to Parappa 3 (being rumored and all, and both being NanaOn-Sha games) and then... nothing. There was no reason as to why he kept talking about Vib Ribbon. Not even an announcement that it was being released on PSN. Nothing.

Vib Ribbon never even came out in North America. I still just don't understand why that section was even in the conference. :(

Apparently there's another Cytus Lambda update out. I wish PS Mobile surfaced this information better.
Edit: Eight new songs (but apparently there are additional secret songs).

details:
The video begins with an explanation on how your family’s base location will start out at a random location, and so will the dungeons around it, along with the things you can acquire.

You can also go on expeditions to neighboring lands, all with their own towns and dungeons. In addition to having different kinds of equipment available in different towns, you can also encounter new gods there, who’ll help expand your family and their traits.

While you can pass on your spirit to offspring through the power of deities, another option is through marrying other characters you meet in different lands. The children born this way might have other unique abilities, rather than going with the gods.

Characters from other lands can also be adopted and brought home, or they can also be hired as mercenaries to help out on your next adventure. So working with other lands and their towns might be the key to the survival of your cursed bloodline.

Visiting other players and their lands can be beneficial for both parties. In addition to being able to find different items and meeting various people, players can get extra money and more by having others do a little shopping or visiting their land.

Characters and special equipment can also be shared via QR codes on social media networking sites to share with friends and family, which will have some kind of influence on your game data, and another reason to interact with others.

Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines will be released in Japan on July 17, 2014 for PlayStation Vita and later on in the West.

I love the voice of Gigadis(the guy on my avatar), the demon lord in Sorcery Saga, especially when he desperately calls Pupuru, it's too funny lol.

Bought Stella Dues: The Gate of Eternity on a whim.... Does Gaf have any impressions? Will It be enjoyable?

I liked it a lot when I was a kid.
It reminded me of FFT but with better spirits and animation.
Story wasn't top tier like FFT, but it was decent enough that I managed to beat the game.

Since I finally completed all the Challenges in Beat Hazard Ultra, I decided to see if they ever fixed the leaderboard problem.

Even now, years later it still crashes your PS3 and erases your save, coupled with freaky nightmarish sounds.

It's incredibly boring. its just the blandest most boring SRPG ever. Everything in it is servicable and its fairly pretty, but it's unbelievably boring.

Ok, not only did the new Muramasa patch mess up with the skill names, it seems to swap the skill effects, even on the skill trees. I'm pretty sure Spirit Storm was Gonbe's final skill, but now it's moved up (to the place of a skill I already unlocked) and doesn't work. My heal 20% by getting spirit is giving me only 10% of health too, so I have no idea what abilities I have right now.

I'm still waiting for my Infamous Vita game.

Corpse Party; how scary is it really? I don't mind some horror, but if it is the whole point of the game and it is essentially like playing a scary movie, I am all set. Screen search for it seems to also indicate fan service in it, is that heavy or just a few times? Also the horror element, we talking thriller or slasher?

It's pretty scary actually. It's a damn lot more than you would expect from looking at a couple of screens. It also has both suspense/thriller and slasher elements. It's definitely a horror game, not a game with horror elements.

It's basically a horror point and click with direct control. You're exploring areas looking for things that will advance you to the next area and story. It is legitimately scary (as a horror fan) and has a pretty heavy pinch of fan service but its... almost fitting to the theme of the game. It's never terribly pandering.

Ok, thank you; guess there is nothing on sale for me this month officially. Time to dig into Strider and hate myself for wasting more time with Destiny of Spirits.

So Uncharted: Fight for Fortune™ Complete Edition fropped to 4.99€ on EU PSN and I was always interested in the game.

Good idea to get it for mainly single player?

Apparently there's another Cytus Lambda update out. I wish PS Mobile surfaced this information better.
Edit: Eight new songs (but apparently there are additional secret songs).

20 new songs, assuming this is the same as the iOS update. There are a couple of new ways that they have "hidden" the new songs (not all that hidden, really).

$25AUD for Borderlands 2 Vita used. Go for it? Edit: Oh wait, DLC were codes weren't they, nvm.

20 new songs, assuming this is the same as the iOS update. There are a couple of new ways that they have "hidden" the new songs (not all that hidden, really).
Thanks for the heads up. Do the PS Mobile and iOS versions update simultaneously or has there been a long wait between them?

Strange how their Twitter account didnt update about this. Stranger the fact that they havent improved the loading time after how long since release. This game really shows how unmerciful the Miku games can get.

Hidden songs? Care to share how to unlock those?

PSM has always lagged behind, but it's gotten better (just when the game is basically done, though). The iOS update was less than two weeks ago.

This update finally added a credits sequence, so they might actually consider the game done at this point, but you never know. I'm fully invested in the iOS version and did not double-dip for Lambda (no leaderboards!) so I'm still waiting for iOS to get the Prologue, eventually.

For chapters 1-10:
tap the green (for easy) or red (for hard) circles on each chapter select screen.
For chapter K:
clear all the songs.

Since you're playing the iOS version I was wondering how the IAP hold up in comparison to the PS Mobile version of the game where it is a one time purchase to unlock everything.

Thats how? Huh, at least more Cytus Lamda songs. I've been playing on hard on every chapter. Also just to note, I like that these chapters have stories to tell via its arts and songs.

Since you're playing the iOS version I was wondering how the IAP hold up in comparison to the PS Mobile version of the game where it is a one time purchase to unlock everything.

Everything in chapters 1-4 was either included initially or a free update. Starting from chapter 5, every chapter cost $4.99 when it was new. (They used to sell individual songs for $0.99 each, but not anymore. Obviously nobody used that option.)

However, one additional chapter is released for free for every 100,000 paid downloads of the game (across all platforms, I think). This is to keep the developers' original pledge that you would never have to pay for DLC. Chapter 4 was the first free chapter released this way, and right now you get up to chapter 8 with the app purchase. Of course, you would have to wait quite a while to get free chapters this way.

Having bought every new chapter, I have spent $40 over the 1.5 years since IAP was introduced.
